it doesn't even EXIST beyond prototype phase atm. That isn't the final product going on sale anytime soon. That being said, I will not buy it with rudder control that invovles joystick twist. I'd prefer a rocker cradle on the throttle, or foot pedals. I hope there are 2 thumbhat look buttons: one for view and one for vectored thrust jump jet use if it will be in the game.

Ah thanks, missed that one. Mine however does give some insight on what people would be willing to pay for Artemis. Could be handy for Razer.

i bet it will be a great peripheral. i already spent money on a joystick so i will not buy it. i hope Pirahna releases an app that lets me do whatever the artemis screen does. ill pay... 15$ but only if its incredible.

I'll be buying the Artemis IV FCS for my Catapult. Does that count?

There is no way I can afford it AND a founders pack.

It'd be neat to have, but i think I could easily live with some $20 joystick, or maybe even my mouse and keyboard.

Absolutely will shell out the $$$ if it gives me an edge. Although a competent 'mouser' a dedicated joystick should give me that edge over the other 'mousers'.

Cheers

I don't think Artemis is my sort of thing and I wasn't especially hyped about it anyway. As for the others, those who are hoping to get it for less than $100 must be nuts, those who want it for less than $200 are great optimists.

Will MWO work with the Saitek x52 flight system? If not then they should think about it. You can use the pro rudder pedals for steering and the other controls for use.

Not sure how someone gets off saying that the Naga or the DeathAdder are razer's "Golden Products" , i've personally owned 4 Naga's, and returned each of them within a month of owning them due to the buttons straight up falling off, or the middle mouse wheel getting loose and dis-located, the Death Adder was another disaster in my opinion, the truely reliable Razer product is the Copperhead, was a marvelous piece of equipment for years untill it bit the dust, and i just now replaced my latest failure of a Naga, with an Imperator, i've had zero problems with it and it's been over 2 months, buttons work perfectly, there is no lag or anything which makes me regred the purchase, and the button which increases or decreases the sensitivity is pure genius, really makes the difference in some situations i encounter, but overall, Razer's reliability is definately flawed, in my honest opinion, avoid the Naga , avoid the Deathadder, grab an imperator if you want quality and reliability, read the reviews.

But, about the artemis, while i don't disagree it looks amazing, chances are it'll be another one of Razer's overpriced goodies, (not unreasonable to assume they'll charge beetween 300 and 500 dollars for it) , so overall, i agree, i hope it's one of the FEW products razer makes that has the quality and reliablity we can crave, but the huge price tag is definately not justifying the experience, sure, gives some immersion, not just for the fact you can get stoned and really think you're piloting a mech with a cheeto's holder, but also later on when you come down, and realize you spent $500 on a controller for ONE game, so, definately not buying it unless it's in the $200 or less range.

Merging. No need for 2 separate polls and Razor will set the price themselves.

The more I look at this, the more I would love to see a keyboard (minus everything to the right of the Enter/Backspace keys) mounted between the stick and throttle, instead of the screen, or a version without the center section at all, for those of us who don't want/need it. I do really like the combination throttle/keypad over on the side, though. I just don't see what it is about the screen that would really be all that useful right now.

I was aiming for HOTAS and this Artemis is not so cool as HOTAS for sure, so it has to be at least considerably lower on price, I guess. Still, haven't seen the real thing yet, have to know more about it..
But I am totally confident I won't need this integrated screen for any reason, as I doubt the info it displays will free me some space on the main screen, while this integrated screen will surely cost OMG$.

And as for Razer, my only experience with it is Razer Lachesis mouse which I use for about 5 months already and while I like it in most ways, it has a single, but great minus - the cursor shakes each time I press the left button, I've never seen this with any other mouse and it's driving me mad at times.

Not a chance when the joystick is on the wrong side

No way I'm buying that unless I read some very good reviews on the thing, especially believable promises of future support by other sim titles. Basically, other then fearing flimsy build quality and future driver problems, I'm afraid it will soon become obselete and unsupported.

I can buy what I want. This thing looks pretty cool. I might buy it. I have not played teh game yet, so I do not know what I will prefer in terms of controller. I did see one suggestion there that I thought was good: Two joysticks or a joystick for the non-dominant hand, rather than for dominant hand. That way you have dominant hand for mouse aiming and off-hand for joystick torso movements. We shall see.

No! This kind of marketing stunt has me seriously reconsidering my previous decision to buy the Elite Founders package. If I decide not to buy the Founders package, I'll likely just skip this MW game all together.

Before anyone asks why, I'll tell you. It's because all this hype to promote a product by another company that you just happened to have consulted on says PG is more interested in publicity stunts than putting out a good game. Sure these kinds of stunts draw in a few more players at the beginning, but most of them will be less likely to spend money on the game itself and/or stick around for any length of time. However, a good game would draw in a LOT more over the long haul and keep them around and actually paying for stuff.

No-one in their right mind is going to fork over the kind of money this controller will sell for if the full functionality of it only works with one game.

To put it bluntly, this marketing stunt pretty much shattered my faith in PG.

no offense bro... but you just don't get it.

As a long time mechwarrior fan, AND someone who played in the Tesla II pods. I can tell you that a stick like this, a setup like this... is something that has me VERY interested. This is the start of a mechwarrior focused pod...

You're looking at it the wrong way, Razer is the creator, not PGI, PGI is supporting this, because Razer has decided to make a stick that is focused on MWO. this was a joint venture to be sure. but RAZER is the manufacture, not PGI.

What PGI HAS done here, is offer the players a unique experience though the use of the Artemis controller. and are doing maybe a bit of coding to utilize the controller to it's fullest.

also to all of those of you who say a joystick cannot match the same ability as a mouse/keyboard setup. You have obviously NOT used a good joystick. I can get very percise aim out of my Logitech Force 3d Pro stick under most circumstances... you have to learn the stick, and learn how to properly control things to get the response you want. Sure you may be used to it now with a mouse/keyboard... but there's something hugely satasfying using a flightstick to do the job.

I'm in a bit of a Catch-22 on this one. I wouldn't buy it until I'd tried it, but I'll never see one unless I buy it. I guess I'll play MW-O with either keyboard & mouse or game controller at first, & if I happen to win a few hundred quid on the lottery we'll see.

**** yeah! I'm definitely buying this.

I already purchased a Thrustmaster HOTAS in anticipation of this game coming out, but I've been so impressed with other Razor peripherals that I'm planning to order an Artemis as soon as possible.
