I'm thinking I'll buy it but my purpose may be far more nefarious as I would take it apart and build my only control system. No Z-Axis means I'm not pleased but the LCD screen's implementation is what I'd be looking for. My guess is that multi-monitor support won't be in the game at launch except for this controller, so I would use this for that.

I'm also building a sim pod so I would use it in that.

I won't be buying one for two reasons:

1 I already have a perfectly good functioning Saitek X45 Hotas set that I prefer.

2 The cost of this thing is going to be huge and I just can't justify the spend even if it can be used for other games and flight sims.

I have a saitek x45 that I've used forever for flight sims (non fighting) and mech warrior.. You don't have to ratchet a joystick like you would a mouse as well... So I will more than likely be upgrading joysticks rather than play this game with keyboard and mouse like I do for mwll... In the heat of being in the lights or heavies fighting the lights.. I won't have time for ratcheting..

I have no problem with razor but some of their products are overrated..
This just looks like it will be way to overpriced like their star wars keyboard that is still sold out..
Razor is getting in over their head and won't be able to supply the demand for these products...

Logitech g19 is from like 2009 and is more functional than razors black widow ultimate for about the same price...

Mechs also have a slight turning lag so I'm not sure how that will affect mouse players but I feel joysticks will run circles around mice if used in the right ways..
Also, anything can happen and nothing is final so we shall see..

The Artemis..
To much money for us lower end money rollers..

Now.. Make non mow applications and uses for the screen on this and maybe you could justify the price it's going to be a little better...

It just screams 400-600 though...
So in my book... Doubtful

Your faith must have been hanging by a thread if an announcement about a peripheral specifically for MW:O (which has been requested about a million times on these forums) completely shatters your opinion of a game which you have never played.

Wow ..... sheeeeet how butt hurt do you sound ?!?!?!
What so it's all good as long as everyone is a rabid uncritical fanboy then .............. you people kill me.

Where did poll in the OP go?

Obviously the community showed too much common sense and independent thought for the OP.
Result = poll did not reflect his preferred choice, solution = destroy evidence

surely your used to this kind of attitude it seems to be the keystone of the community ......... *sigh*

It seems a really cool concept but as I have a Saitek X52 currently gathering dust and hope that it is supported I will most likely not be purchasing it. Though I may if I can afford it.

Love to have it! I've been using my Razer Diamondback for a long time and it's been trouble-free. If the quality is there and the price is not off-the-chart high, I'll get it.

The initial concept art doesn't look like a modular system, but if folks from Razer are reading this thread...make it modular! That way, it can be purchased piecemeal without breaking the bank or selling organs. Also, it sounds like the market could be there for a Lefty version.

"If you make it, they will come"

It's not for me. It's really effing cool, but I don't tend to buy many/any gaming accessories. I've got a mouse, headset, and keyboard and that's how it's going to stay. The price isn't a deal breaker (I'm assuming something in the 300-400 dollar range,) but as I don't ever use joysticks...it doesn't attract me as it might someone who does.

I'll certainly give this a look but would need a hands-on inspection of it before considering it at all. The biggest questions from me are: how much? (too much $$ combined with other priorities would kill a purchase like this) and will it work with other games? (I'm not buying a controller that only works with one game).

Umm.... Maybe? Normally comfortable with just using the keyboard or my XBox 360 controller. But if the money miraculously appeared in my wallet, I'd give it a shot. Don't normally buy fancy controllers to play a game, but thats also usually because I play such a large variety of games buying a special controller to play each one sounds a bit silly, not to mention finding somewere to put all of them.

lol I think I would buy ANYTHING Mechwarrior! I'm definitely going to give it a try out!

First, I'm probably not going to change my mind about buying one unless it's extremely expensive because it's Mechwarrior related. lol
But I must say I have thought about a lot of the "Cons" stated everywhere in this post as well as the "Pros". Everyone has valid reasons for not liking or liking the set up and it's all based on personal preference or experience and that's totally ok because we play different and we all have our set up that "works" and as gamers, especially when it comes to Mechwarrior, we don't want to change what works.

I can only give you a "from experience" point of view as far as Razer products are concerned. I have been a fan of Razer since 1998 when I bought my first "Razer Boomslang" (still works but put it away for nastalgic reasons) and I have bought other products from them since.

I currently am using a Razor Naga Epic mouse, Razer BlackWidow Ultimate keyboard, and a Razer Carcharias headset and for me they work great and I have never had any problem with any other product in between that I purchased from them. I got lucky I guess and am greatful I did. I also use a Saitek X52 stick that I have used for Mechwarrior since the stick came out and I love it. I also have TrackIR and I am hopeing it will be an added "plus" to the game. I'm still willing to give the new setup a try.

Everyone in this post has great comments and I'm happy to gain a lot of information and experiences from you all and it's a community like this that always promotes awesome game play and just a great experience over all. Lets hope the game and the anticipation doesnt let us down and Mechwarrior is reborn. Lets also hope that they take our comments to the "next" level and improve the product before it's released or even after and maybe split the unit so it's more user friendly and have the ability to organize our playing area as well the ability to use the unit with other games such as maybe older Mechwarrior games and such.

If you have read through my entire post, thank you lol This just my opinions and my "from experience" point of view. Hopefully it may have helped someone out with a decision but if not it;s ok. The most important thing is we all have a awesome experience with the game and have fun shooting the crap out of each other on the Battle Field lol

Probably not.

But it is tempting purely because it's razor.

The quality of Razor products is second to none.

It looks shiny, but I think I'll stick with my Thrustmaster Hotas X. It doesn't have the feedback, but I'm pretty sure I can get a pretty similar experience anyway and have more money left over for cool stuff in MWO.

It will depend on the cost for me. If it is less than $300, I will buy it. I just couldn't justify more than that.

I'm still alive.

I tried to edit the poll right after I put it up. I noticed that I could've worded everything much better and provided more choices. However, the popularity of this thread took off far past my predictions and by the time I submitted my revision, so many people had voted and commented that it wouldn't allow me to revise anything. I also tried to delete the poll and thread, to make a new one, but after I pressed the button, nothing happened. So, I've been trying to let this thread die, but it doesn't look like it will anytime soon.

I was going to comment on all of this, but then people started posting insults and other various comments directed toward my intelligence and sexual orientation. So I said f*** it and haven't posted until now. No one even bothered to pm me, instead they prefer to post accusations about someone they know nothing about.

I'm just a guy who made a poll learn what people thought about a recently revealed peripheral . I tried to edit it and make it better, but nothing changes.

I didn't delete the poll, it wouldn't let me do anything. A mod or dev must've done that.

I already have a nice Saitek X-52Pro. I pretty much preffer their design, but the Artemis looks nice. I'm happy to know that I'll be able to use a second display to show game info, like in Ms Flight Simulator. So, with a 10" cheap LCD screen I can have a MUCH BETTER setup. I'm pretty sure thar X52Pro have more than enough buttons and I really like the feel of a big throttle in my left hand. It feels just so right with MW4.

So, answering: no, I will not buy 'cause I have better stuff :P

I like the Artemis, but I think that the screen will make it too expensive for most of us.
