With all due respect, I think other people have a valid complaint about razer and quality. Don't get me wrong, I USE razer equipment. . . but I've seen first hand that the QC just isn't there.

Speaking of "isn't there". .no throttle? no foot pedals? The center screen COULD be nice [if it's high quality touch screen] but then where is the price point? I'm looking at this thing and saying "where is my keyboard going to go then"? If this can't replace keyboard functionality entirely for this game, that's a huge stumbling block.

yes, I'm nitpicking. .. but only because I firmly believe it's only worth doing if it's done RIGHT :P

Ok, back to the shadows. . . .

It's kinda tempting and we need something for the big spenders to apply their money towards.

Bit too pricey for me.

i.. guess. though without seeing an actual example i'm not impressed, and also that's great that razer is on board but their marketing is annoying, and also i was hoping for something actually tangentially related to the game itself

So yeah nice video, I'll stick with my current set up.
It does look nice though, but I thought Artemis would be something else.
The one thing I am proud of is the fact now we will have advertisement for peripherals.
I haven't seen that since Mechwarrior 3/4 and mostly it was graphics cards showing how much fun MW3 was.

The world is being shown Battletech and Mechwarrior again. That's always a good thing.

That's the first thing I thought of...

Nice. Depending on what happens I might sell my current setup and get this. :P I was actually pretty exited by this, I'm actually surprised more people aren't. So many said a liscenced controller for this game would be great. Well, here you go.

This news is pointless without a price point for the device. Lets face it, its going to be high.

Not going to be interested in a massively expensive peripheral made for one specific game, especially if its going to cost an arm and a leg.

Looks to me that the keypad has a throttle control on it... as for where's the keyboard going to go?? meh, will worry about that later... tho' my wireless keyboard could always set off to the side with the Artemis taking center stage...

That's a nice design.
I hope they make the option available to have some nice foot pedals with it.
Or I can just use some other foot pedals.

my buddy has a Steel Battalion controller, i think the idea of one for mechwarrior is great, as long as i dont need to sell my car to get the bloody thing.

I've been holding off on purchasing a joystick for MW:O, mostly because I wanted to wait and see who they partnered with after announcing that they were talking with several different manufacturers (source: FAQ). I've never had any problem with Razer quality (I've had the Lachesis for about 3 years now).

This has nothing on the steel_battalion... well except force feedback. But really I think Razer can do better and theres no point in adding that lcd display when I have a 120hz 1080p monitor.

Thank you Piranha. But you have announced it at 08:00 AM PDT already. Actually, you were "announcing" it for almost a week (and I was wasting my time in photoshop aligning images which could not be aligned to give a slightest clue). :P Now at 10:30 AM PDT I can haz my screenshots/artwork/video/Battlemech/beta key already?

dunno... 2 23" LED displays atm and a 3rd planned to be added soon... and I STILL like the idea of the center display for radar/mini-map/etc... more room on the main displays to see WHO needs to be taken down yet... :P

Thinking about the Design of Artemis...i have not a final opinion by now.
It looks cool and looks usefull but maybe for a Hardware that is that specialized for only one game it may come out to expensive.
It would need to be modular so i can control the space usage!
I miss Pedals!
I would like to have it a usage in other games too!
I have no clue about the quality of Razer, i only own a mouspead from them.

Until the early 2000s i played with CH-Product Flightsticks (and a really good FF Wheel from another Brand for racing games but it only worked with Win98).
I dont like Saitek, or Logitech so far as the Sticks feel no good and i got used to mouse controls since CH did almost leave the market in Europe or at all - i have no clue how they do.
My Logitech Attack 3 USB is catching nothing but Dust...

Maybe CH can make a Comeback?

I'm with Henchman 24 and others on this. That was a pretty lame tease. I feel like Ralphie from A Christmas Story, upon decoding the secret "Drink More Ovaltine" ad message.

Over the years I have owned every Thrustmaster HOTAS. I will own this as well if it ever comes out.

If the pieces are modular and you can swapout the gamepad for another joystick, if they find a way to get a decent res screen and keep the cost down.

You could get me for the joystick, probably not so much for the other stuff.
