Playing a jager...

... Dead in 20 seconds.

I find it funny because I primarily play Assault, and hate AC macro Jagers a lot more than light mechs for that very same reason. Difference being, it takes a little bit of skill to evasively pilot a light mech while aiming and dodging buildings. It takes absolutely no skill to program your mouse/keyboard macro and hold down a button to insta-kill people with your AC's.

That said, I don't think light mechs moving fast is a problem. ECM on the other hand? They need to implement an actual counter to ECM other than 'moar ECM'.

well..I joined the boaters..and lights usually not a problem for me..2 ppc 2 er ppc, 3 ssrm2..I got swarmed by 3 lights at one match. I popped one of them when they were trying to close the distance on me. hit the side torso and he got one shotted. the two others were a jenner and a streakmando. they were circling me around, I just kept walking backward until my back is against a wall. with careful aim, I legged the jenner in 1 shot. then finished him off with another alpha. the streakmando was more intelligent, moving with unpredictable pattern. I chained fire my ppc's, disrupted his ECM continuously and splat him to death with my 3 ssrm2s.. :D

now..the point is..the one ruining the game is actually the large energy weapon boaters..
"SWARM THE BOATS WITH LIGHTS" people say..but truth is I rarely have any problem with light mechs in my PPC boat especially after the ballistic HSR went live..and I can shred people from a distance as well..without any real consequences

This is entirely unrelated to the conversation

People are suggesting that teamwork is key?

I think less than 5% of my games with these pug noobs have resulted in a decent amount of teamwork.

You opened this account 26 days ago. I can understand getting frustrated, I lost my cool in a match just yesterday and I've been playing for over a year. Work on finding the mech that fits you best and understand that sometimes you won't be on the most coordinated of the two teams playing, unless you join a team....at which point you still may not be on the best coordinated team.

I don't think anyone hates light mechs more than me, but I can usually deal with them. My advice to the OP can be summed up in one word:

LASERS

Wait, I remember you! I saw you on two games yesterday. In both cases you died early and spent the remainder of your time cursing out your own team for having too many lights or alternately cursing our the opposing team for the same reason.

Hmm... would hating other mechs solely based on class be "Weightism"? Because it`s not really racism but is otherwise identical. :D

The Commando pilot could just as easily post; 'I was running around and some scrub Jager pilot just one-shotted me, it's so unfair there should be an option for me to only drop against lights!'

If you think lights are OP and easy to play then start using one and report back with screenshots of all the games where you kill whole enemy teams.

Yeah, I doubt many will shed a tear for a poor little AC40 or 2 Gauss Jager's misfortunes.

I find it amusing you're enraged by a Commando out of all lights, a rarest of rarest lights out there.

The thing is if you're caught by a light 1v1 in a Jager, it's your fault and you deserve to die. Jagers have paper thin armor and most of them have to pack XL's, which makes them priority targets for lights. Don't seperate from your group.

I suggest you to leave the comfort zone of heavy/assaults and try out a light for once. You will see how EXTREMELY difficult it is to pilot them effectively. Especially in this PPC/Gauss fest.

If you beleave that a mech or a built is OP try using it before you complain. You'll see that the lights are like paper and it's you who need to improve

If a single commando kills you while in a heavy mech, with the current net code, it means you are a bad pilot.

Once they fix the netcode/hitboxes so that lights actually take damage consistently then they will die quickly.

Like when the released host state rewind for ballistics?

PGI did, and lights do.

It's easier to run around in circles at 100+kph than it is to hit the same with an ac20 at point blank range.

Pardon me while I laugh.
AC20 Jagermechs are the one build guaranteed to kill my Jenner.
You don't see me complaining about it though.

Aim better.

Never considered hitting lights with an ac20 all the hard even before host state rewind and ac20 projectile speed buffs and raven leg fixes.

Can`t speak for birds and insects, but specifically the commando referenced in the OP is about 99% bug free and gets hit exactly where you`re aiming.

Don´t believe me? Mount 2 lasers and learn to legsweep, with any amount of talent you should see your problems dimish rapidly. At least it seems to work for everybody else....

Poppycock, I do both numerous times every day, they require pretty equal amounts of skill, the difference being that the light knows he could die at any second and therefore has more incentive to be good.

Any light running in actual circles is a free kill becasue you know exactly when he`s going to be where and just have to have patience. A light pilot that knows what he`S doing and runs irregular circles, stops behind you, serpentines.. yeah, he`S going to be hard to hit... but he`s also investing significantly more thought and skill into the encounter and teh game in general that some one that just boats guns and shoots in a random direction when something is red. Being hard to hit is his reward, and every bit oif is is earned.

If you honestly think it`s sooooo easy, then buy a light, Ideally a trollmando or blackbird with ECM + streaks "to make it even more easymode", and prove it. Put your c-bills where your mouth is, so to speak. :D

It's the primary reason i want to punch my screen nearly every time i play.

I hate lights. ECM, excessive speed, and in the right setup, a good array of weapons.

Remember that youtube video of dozens of tiny bees swarming all over those huge *** killer hornet wasps? That's basically what this game is every single time.

A classic example was just now on frozen city. Playing a jager and some commando scrub just ran round the back of me at 135kph and popped my back armour. He can run quicker than i can turn, and because of the buildings i got stuck. Dead in 20 seconds.

Matchmaking, screw you. Give me the option of playing against only heavies or assaults please.

inb4 lrn2play, lightsrox, ujustsuxlolz

Lights aren't the problem it is you, I took on a 3 light swarm in Frozen City Night Conquest and killed them all by myself in my Atlas-RS. They are not ruining the game you just need to know how to deal with them.
