I have been 5 years without now. It feels good, but a little bit I wish I had e-cigs when I still smoked. They make captain crunch flavor. Captain ************* crunch.

For sure.
Also sorry to hear about your cholesterol, that's terrible. I might be headed down that road too if I don't change my ways.
Why does being unhealthy have to be so awesome......at first?

I blame wives. It's thier plan in all this to gain more control over us. Excuse me while I clean my tin foil hat.

Sorry to hear about the cholesterol thing. I work with a guy that has clogging issues and he has contrived an entire menu for himself that mimics those delicious fatty flavors without the dangers of lipidy goodness. Even with that he still gets tired of eating grilled chicken.

My saving grace is I like to cook. My cholesterol is heriditary so not a whole lot I can do about it in that regards. My personality is goal oriented so I look forward to my once a month cheat no matter what I have to eat before. The only thing I find hard is mimicking the taste of full meals but keeping with the low cholesterol made me a whiz on spices which really help especially since my sense of taste and smell went through the roof when I quit.
That's one of the negative things about being smoke free. One of the smells I hate is someone who doesn't shower. When I was a smoker I hardly noticed. Now being a non smoker oh gawd hits me like a ton of bricks. I know your saying that I didn't smell to pretty myself but I only smoked outside which helps with the ashtray smell.

The non-showerer can't escape your senses smoking or not down here in Texas. 108F can make anyone smell of rotten cabbage.
Don't know about you, but the smells coming back made food taste more flavorful and smell stronger. I used to rush thru the meal to have that delicious after meal cig, never really giving what I ate a second thought. Really have to watch out on your weight because substituting food for that smoke can put the pounds on you real quick.
It is amazing how quickly your body can rebound. I think it was like one week and all the coughing went away. No more flem in your throat, and you just feel better.

Yeah, cigarettes are nasty. Smoking plain Tobacco really isn't that bad, granted it's still not healthy but neither is eating cheeseburgers. Majority of the health complications that come from smoking are due to all the extra ingredients that the Tobacco companies put in the cigarettes.

THIS IS SOO TRUE!!!!!
First time I quit a few years back I did it by rolling my own and at first I could not smoke enough natural tobacco to get rid of the cravings. After that though it was not to tough to quit. The deck is stacked against you by these tobacco companies apparently it's tougher to quit commercial cigs than to go off heroin.
Also the reason I quit the initially was because my family dies of cancer and most of them are gone and I was getting extreme pain from my right ear down my throat with ever drag. My aunt had her voice box and whatnot removed so I knew that was not something I wanted to deal with. but when I changed to straight natural tobacco the pain disappeared. I almost didn't quit then because of that but had to buy a commercial pack when i didn't have any on me and immediately the pain was back so that scared me enough to get me back on track. I smoked for 32 years before I quit the first time and lasted about 2 years before falling off the wagon for a year and a half. The 2 years of healing did well as the pain didn't return for about 8 months or so.
Don't get drunk and say "well I'll just have one"!

Yep, the whole crew
came in here for the same thing
and none of us got
what we expected.
On the upside,
It's been almost 5 months
since I had a
cigarette.
