I know this probably isn't really, truly, entirely relevant to what everyone else is talking about here, but I got accused of cheating just the other day. Apparently getting a quick kill in a CTF-4X with 3xAC/5s against two critically damaged 'Mechs makes me a cheater (and also a cheesebuild user, apparently). I quickly proved that I wasn't a god, though, as the rest of the enemy team piled onto me and made me disappear the way I often do. :) (Last man standing, happens so much, I wonder why? Not)

Well all you egg heads can say what you want to about this as I am kind of neutral as there are very good mech warrior pilots , but I am seeing some BS lately myself so you might want to investigate some of this before you loose anymore players. I am not pointing out anything in particular except maybe pinpoint damage with srm,s hint hint!

more hackers around lateley really not fun to play anymore except you make an alt and do the same
rip mwo and steam launch wont matter a thing if they dont insert a most basic ac and no stat bans are bs.

And your evidence - or better yet - proof of this is?

2 day around 100 gb of fraps stuff :P
and a brain and beeing here since the start!
but i seriosly find it funny how naive some people are.
Some even think this game has no cheater ...
even thou some kids are really not hiding there MLG360degree noscope talents.
Even thou the bots got sophisticated and are more of a bone/damaged part aimers which are sometimes
even more obvious then giving all the time headshots. ....

Iam atm just fighting with me if i really want to write for everyone a ticket and explain whats wrong in what situation.

I think part of what people call 'hacking" is simply HSR being an epic fail.

I see it all the time when im playing against low pingers, despite torso twisting all the damage is applied to only 1 part of my mech. The thing is HSR doesnt work and that mech shot you half a second ago. Its like being killed by someone who isn't even facing you, you die and on the death screen the guy who killed you faces you and then fires.

HSR should be minimising this crap out

I dont care how good a player the other guy is, the physics of shooting out someones side torso on a healthy mech with beam weapons moving at 140km'hr while they are weaving without causing damage to any other part of the mech is nigh on impossible unless HSR has applied all the damage to the wrong part of said mech

Of course, they could be MW Jeebus =D

No.

Unlikely (intensively unlikely!) in most fights - but not impossible.

No where NEAR impossible.

Edit:
By which I mean that I have done it.

I have watched pilots weave many many many times in ways that - were it not for me being at JUST the right angle - would have prevented it

But since I was at that juuuuust right angle....

I have also watched pilots "weave" in ways that did absolutely no good.

Which one is it?? Intensely unlikely but nowhere near impossible??

Had it happen several times now, tells me its more likely to be the way the game applies damage than some kind of uber pilot skill. Hell, shooting stationary mechs often applies damage to a part of the mech you did not shoot

We would probably wind up arguing over this but...

I would say that 15% chance of something is pretty intensively unlikely - but no where NEAR impossible
Most games I play that have 15% drop rates on something I have to grind for ~4+ hours to have any chance at it

Depending on the game, even 30-40% is pretty intensively unlikely
(Such as attacking in Fire Emblem - though defending that is almost guaranteed? Bizarre series)

Even games that have 0.0005% or lower drop rates - that is pretty intensively unlikely
But again, no where near actual impossibility.

Only weapons I can say that about (other than obvious spread weapons like SRM or LBx) are the Flamer and MG - both of which have a cone of fire mechanic.

must be the ping difference then, CT shot registering on legs / arms etc. I play usually in the mornings here, so NA prime time. I see some very weird damage application behaviours when im shooting at a 40 pingers with my 320 ping

I liked the other bits too =D

Ping could be it - I am not living to far from the servers, and my ping is usually pretty low.

HSR is supposed to help with that - but sometimes it seems to just be adding a 3rd opinion to the committee.

RJF and other russian units before them have been accused of necromancy/black sorcery ... might be, that THIS fish is indeed stinking.
