Why is the prize a hula girl and not a hula boy or even a sex-neutral hula figurine ? What's going on here PGI what are you playing at ?

Stifling meaningful discussion annnnnd sexism. PGI/IGP really needs to check it's privilege.

More like CHUCK it's privilege! OUT THE WINDOW! Along with whoever decided to cater only to straight male nerds by handing out a scantily clad woman as a prize. The half-naked woman stands on a pedestal, elevated by her male creators and is locked in mid hula dance. Sexism, objectification, cultural appropriation all wrapped up in one creepy little virtual statue.

Is this how women are regarded by the BattleTech community ? As frozen, lifeless objects standing on ivory pillars and able to do nothing but dance for the amusement of their male owners ?

For shame.

I can not decide if you are trolling for fun or have been unable to find a way to get offended some where else.
If trolling ... Good going. Well played sir.
If not ... wow.

Wow indeed! An organization that tolerates and even encourages small injustices like this is one in which they build up and soon become overwhelming and is an organization in which sexism is systemic!

Are you guys saying you want a hunky male cockpit figurine? Maybe just .. ask for one .. but it's probably safe to say that item would not sell as many units as the hula girl or the other cockpit items you can buy.

I imagine they will make more cockpit items for release, but they probably have to decide what to spend resources on right now, and maybe an item that isn't projected to sell a lot of units is not a high priority at present?

There was a thread last year where Garth (?) asked players to suggest cockpit items. It had hundreds of posts. Did you think of checking that thread to see if anyone suggested hula-girl -- or hula-boy?

Never thought this would happen, but I am actually hoping for the lockhammer here.

Come on, this has to violate something.

Pretty please?

It sounds to me like maybe you've been ignoring these glaringly obvious problems on purpose and having them shoved in your face is making you pretty uncomfortable! Why is that, friend, does the idea of a cockpit decoration that doesn't fit into your rigid patriarchal understanding of the world upset you? Maybe you should take that discomfort as an indication there are things about your worldview you need to reexamine !

It's interesting that you'd think the only reason someone would have these thoughts is that they were trolling !

Thank you forum Overlords, you are both powerful and wise.

Sweet pics of the Hula-Dudes, as George Takei would say "Oh my."
