For whatever reason this recent patch appears to have hardcoded my Xbox 360 Controller's left analog stick with throttle movement. Specifically if I press my stick forward my Mech will throttle backwards and if I press it backwards my 'mech will throttle forwards. The throttle in either direction also behaves like Throttle decay - despite me not having selected it.

There is nothing I can do via game settings and control configurations to change this. I previously had removed nearly all the joystick bindings, there is currently no joystick binding anywhere even close to my throttle. Despite this the game responds to my use of my left analog stick as if it is somehow, somewhere, connected to a throttle function.

I don't know how to fix this. Or even if it is fixable on my end. But it is not good.

I'm having a similar problem with my joystick. For me, the joystick button 2 seems to be hardwired to the 'Toggle Zoom' command, even though it is nowhere assigned to do that. I'm using a Saitek AV8R-02 joystick that is intended for the XBOX 360 but is also compatible to the PC.

It has made MWO completely unplayable on my Xbox 360 controller.

same here with my xbox gamepad. Although I have found out that you can bind a key to the inverse throttle command in options and it fixes the problem of your throttle working backwards. But the analog or throttle decay issues I haven't been able to fix.

I haven't messed with the actionmaps.xml file in a long time, but maybe its possible that a button is written into it that doesn't show up on the options menu. See if you can delete any instance of Joy0 or Joy1 in the actionmaps.xml file. If not, I can recommend a different driver other than the official MS driver, because the game might have hard written calls to the MS drivers even though you can't see it in game. My brother and I haven't had a problem with the specific driver we're using.

thanks for the relpy. I haven't found any assignments to the analog throttle or zoom actionmap that looks out of the ordinary. I am using a wirelss controller with the PC wireless gaming reciever. What drivers are you speaking of?

I use a 3rd party driver for the wireless controller called x360wc. The old English website was taken down, but here's the link to website that still has the files. http://lavendy.net/s...60wc/index.html

-Download the one for whatever OS you have. I use the one for 64-bit Windows 7.
- Basically all you have to do is uninstall the MS drivers (cause if not WIndows will always pick the MS drivers as the preferred one)
-Then unplug the reciever, plug it back in and when windows asks to find the driver, direct it to the folder you downloaded. It'll ask if you want to install the driver signed by that specific author, click yes and thats it.
-In that same folder where the driver files are you'll see an .exe file called x360wcsai that opens a program in the toolbar.
-Double-click the program in the toolbar and from there you can customize absolutely everything about the controller. Deadzone, buttons, triggers, thumbsticks, vibration, D-pad, schemes, etc.

If you have any questions, I'll help out.

I'm really not in favor of installing another driver for my xbox controllers/joysticks just to be able to play Mechwarrior Online again as this would probably screw up all other games utilizing xbox controllers. This should be fixed by the developers,

Yeah good call.
There shouldn't be hard-coded functionality that we cannot modify through the game.

The latest patch did not solve this issue. Has anyone written a ticket about the problem?
