Does this fix resolves a problem of hud eating up a third or eaven half of FPS?

Actually, I doubt it will, since I recall an "Ask the Devs" where they said UI 2.0 would allegedly fix that.

Well, it might go something like this.

"We made a mistake in the code 5-6 months ago, but rather than address it (or fix it at the source), we kept going with more content. Our line of work consists of working on a build always 2 phases ahead of the actual live build that you all play. As we patched our games, we were stacking it on top of the build you guys were playing and the bad code stayed long lost among stacked and more stacked codes.....hence why it took so much because we needed to dig way deep into our mistake."

You have no idea how software development works.

Since the "secret fix" in last weeks patch I have had one HUD bug in about one hundred drops.

This is down from approximately 1 in 4.

This is pretty much a non issue for me already but more stability is always a good thing.

Yup, same here, and much appreciated.

Although it seems now I am getting hard freezes again a ton since that "secret fix".

(hard freeze as in the game just locks wherever it is, could be in the mechlab, after loading a match etc etc.)

Hopefully this hotfix will get lucky and knock the freezing out again as well.......

From bryans twitter:

"The HUD bugs were a result of undefined behaviour in CryEngines scaleform wrapper library, which took considerable effort for us to track down and fix...."

Hud Bugs, Hard crashes still going strong for me :) maybe I should try a reinstall as my clients from like way back in closed beta times. Maybe wait to see what this breaks before I bother :(

I've always considered the HUD glitches to be like a Challenge mode in a sense.

I always thought they could "fix it" by simply adding a message during startup..

"Initialiasiing Heads Up Computer. 8% chance of failure detected in internal systems"

I love those guys.

PGI announce that an ANNOYING and COMPLEX bug that is HARD to reach has finally been fixed, they still find a WAY to COMPLAIN. Seriously... Just maybe a thanks at least or something ?

Dead serious, if it works that's groovy - but after 7 months I've learned to keep my expectations of PGI really, really, low.

Awesome job guys. Well done.

Ignore the haters; they're just gonna hate regardless of what you do.

I think this deserves a sale. Gotta raise funds for the office party...

Yea, do an sale, I've been holding off for two months now for it, lol.

Just 20% is ok too.

Congratulations on finding the bug and getting a hotfix ready nice and quick! Although I haven't seen a serious HUD bug since the mini-fix in the Misery patch I really appreciate the work that must have gone into tracking this undocumented "feature" of the Cryengine down!

I'm all for being greatful. I just hope it's just not a typical "fix" where some other game breaking issue seaps through undetected. After all, I've seen both CTD and minimap bugs since closed beta. CTD looks fixed so far. Crossing fingers for the HUD fix.

The HUD has been behaving for the last couple of weeks for me, but the last patch did up my game freezing randomly a lot more. With a huge portion of luck it might be HUD-related and will be fixed today.

Hud fix in 10 minutes... I kind of want to squee, but I must see the result of the hotfix before I do.

Thanks guys, I think the vast majority of us really appreciate the work that you do. I'm looking forward to the improvements that can be made now that your team in charge of pinning down this bug can move on to other things!

It's actually 3 hours from now... since it's on Pacific Time.

Little bit worse on my side. Went from 1 in 4 to 1 in 15 or so.
Big change of course. What I do not understand is how they could leave it soo bad for sooo long.
Has anyone here before the last patch been in a game where someone on your team did not have a HUD issue of some type?

After the last patch I have some hope, but PGI and IGP have been doing incredibly stupid things of late.
Lets pray.
