Aidan because, well, Aidan Pryde of clan Jade Falcon. Ramsdell, because one day I was PC gaming with my friends, and my dell laptop froze up, and I kind of rammed it into my wall. They called me ramsdell, and it stuck. I use a Mac now, btw.

I long time ago I tried to write a book and the villain was called Locan Ravok, the Warlord. The book was crap and I never finished, but I used that name (Warlord, Locan or Locan Ravok) as my nick in many games.

My handle has two seperate references.

First being "Elite" simply because I like the sound and the meaning behind the word.

Second "Saiyajin" comes from an anime in which "Saiyajins" were a race of people that conquered planets with brute force.

in the early days when WoW was good i needed an elven name in a hurry and came up with Althorin which i thought was origanal and sounded good. This was my call sign for the past few years. I have a MWO account with the name but am discontinuing its use.

So after lurking on the forums for a while and Althorin declaring for davion i needed a new name for my REAL faction love Jade Falcon (my first real MW moment was mech 2 on the PS) so when the clans come i would need an appropriate name.

with my irish heratage in tow and my IRL orangutan apperance i started playing with google translate

Moncai is irish for monkey (as with the discs librarian i may have to hit you if you call it me in english)

Icaza is a Jade Falcon bloodname that Isn't the overused pryde or krensky that i liked (when i appear as a warden it changes to the Diamond Shark sennet)

And I as well had the issue of "name already taken" so I went with an older name from some different games. A little irony thrown in since I don't drink, but it seems like it'll work in here as well as it did in the other games.

Because if you **** me off, ill pull yer arms off..........

nah, seriously... many years back, when i had long hair (or still had hair i should say) and a beard, i had a habit of running my hands through my hair two handed, like chewy does in the films, plus I am 6ft 4in tall........

oh

and i tend to shout a bit when angry.......

so my workmates dubbed me that (helps that i do love a bit of sci-fi).

It fitted, so i used it with pride.

Good job too, because before that, one of my *mates* started calling me *Dead Lincoln* for some reason (again height, beard, general demeanour etc etc).

Just didn't seem right to use THAT for a game handle.

My nick comes from a character i played in an Iron Kingdoms (Warmachine based RPG universe) adventure. THat, and the fact that i'm good at shooting, made me use this handle for at least 7 years.

What is in a name.... well "Frozen Spirt" had this for many of games....especially as Merc. Under JDF Clan was "Corvinus Brancos"
... it came from Frozen Flame, . . . in turn from something else I can no longer remember just a tag I made up from the early 80s.
I think it was help along from a film 1982 Tron & 1985 Turk 182. God knows why... I suppose it was all about being a rebel. Rebelling from the system.

My name comes from my first ever character in a PnP Mechwarrior game. He was a Pheonix Hawk pilot that was the lead recon and scout pilot for his unit. He came to an untimely end when a member of his own attack lance opened fire on him, causing an ammunition explosion. Needless to say, I learned not to mess with IFF transponder units anymore, even if it was a brilliant idea to fool enemy mechs! In online games, my handle has always been Skywatch, which is probably what it will be when I get on MWO. In World War II, Skywatch was the name given to early warning spotters and radar men aboard aircraft carriers in the Pacific. Since I tend to do recon and scouting, the callsign kind of stuck with me.

Got the nickname "Heretic" after a barfight on the Galatea Starport strip; I don't take kindly to being called a Blakist (two Lyran creeps found out that I came from Gibson and decided I must be one of Toyamas followers), I was forced to teach them the gravity of their mistake....fortunately ASF pilots can never handle their Liquor enough to last in a fistfight....something I had learned on New Olympia B) .

Ironically, the next day I found out that both of those pilots had signed on to the same Merc Company as I had....it was awkward for the first few days with us having to share the cramped confines of a Union Dropship together, but in the end they turned out to be good guys (RIP Jensen)...But that's where the handle "Heretic" came from.

Trevnor is just a variation on my actual name, Trevor. When I was in some random chat one day, someone kept typing my name Trevnor. I liked it, and then it sorta stuck. Plus, Trevnor is never taken in any game I have ever played.

Same sort of thing as VALLEND the first Von Doober was a D&D character, then the family crept over to battletech and sundry others. I've been using it for years!

I got my name from the A-4 Skyhawk, one of the best and most agile early jets and from the F-15 Eagle, the best pure air superiority fighter ever created (dependent upon the pilot, of course).

Hillarious dude. I totally forgot about the "FRIGGIN". And your memory probably does serve you correct, but Im sure if you had asked me then, I was the cats meow in house Marik and the ComGuards. Awesome to see you! Man those were the days. There is a great list put together by Gargoyle that has a list of a good chunk of names from back in the day, broken down by faction. Check it out.

Jeez, that list was after i left Marik and started my house merc unit. Lots of names on that list I remember. Marik and others. Ahhh, the glory days. I think i had several months of bills over $1,000/month. Not only for the GEnie bills, but it was also long distance to dial in! Could have used the Internet back in those days!

Thanks for that list Gargoyle!!!!

It sure was a shame to see MPBT EGA disappear. I still have my original boxed copy of Mechwarrior. I pull it out every once in a while to remind me of the countless nights of running missions and then dreading having to go to work on zero sleep...day after day after day. That game was so far ahead of its time, I am genuinely shocked that it never became a huge MMO before Everquest and WoW. It may not have been massive, but I'm thankful for everyone who played and made my experience unforgettable. Thanks Kelton Flinn!

Does anyone know or remember the highest count of players online at the same time for MPBT EGA on GEnie?

Yea I saw your Steel Eagles merc unit listed there beneath the ComGuards. Pretty cool. Have you heard from anyone else since those days. I dont know if you remember Mordel, but I heard from him a few years ago. He had a website with some btech info for a while. Not sure if its still up. He was also on the Battlecorps.com website. I see a lot of TBCers around here too. Other then that I don't see too many familiar faces.
