It's less likely they actually found operational Null Sig and more likely that they're just using modern ECM.

For those of you who are also frustrated with the outages of this once-lauded news provider (aka having RP withdrawls), there is a news outlet still broadcasting in the FRR (forums) under the name 'Trondheim Live Daily Report' that, while focused on mostly where their next pint of mead is coming from, can provide a glimpse into the happenings of the Inner Sphere around us.

Seems to me the 3048 isnt a typo, but the game isnt ready for the clan invasion yet. Its still in open beta.
So if the timeline for the game is set back to 3048, it gives the devs plenty of time to bring the game up to what they want it to be before inserting a galactic war.
