Cry me a river if you get ganked by flamer light mechs who stun lock your *** because you are boating PPCs, Lights you cannow just SSRM to death with LOLBAPBBQ assistance if you weren't just boating PPCs, or better yet could have just one shotted before it even got close to flamer you.

Idle Speculative Ideas:
Not sure what would be possible... But maybe Flamers should simply not be able to make the target heat gain a higher heat then your own? Then at least both mechs overheat together.

Well, it seems to me that all you want for flamer users is to be easy pray.
Ok, so you say I should be able to shut down someone at the cost of shutting down myself too?
And now think about that I first have to get close to that mech and that this mech is not the only one on the battlefield and that there are plenty of ways to spot me before getting close and of course that I can do nothing else than overheating one mech at the cost of overheating myself... so what should I do the rest of the game while all other mechs can beat the **** out of the enemy?

I'd ultimately prefer if they just buffed Flamers damage outputs, but kept the heat ability limited. I think the risks of stun locks just not worth the effort.
Have you ever played MWLL?
In MWLL you can overheat other mechs and blow them and their ammo up and should I tell you what? It's balanced!!!
And should I tell you why?
Because of the big risks of getting close to the enemy without beeing shot to pieces.
But back to your first point:
I'm ok with producing slightly more heat than the target, but only if the target can suffer internal damage, ammo explosion and other heat penalties due to high heat or overheating!
Maybe it's not very easy to balance flamers, but PGI knows how to buff something and nerf it to uselessness at the same time (like they did with NARC and flamers) and that's NOT how it should be.
I said what will happen when they bring in the heat cap and that shutdown mechs are immune to flamers heat and it was exactly how I predicted.
