Ah, I see. That indeed looks like some non-canon unit, but the images he linked to are the official artwork of the SHP-X4 Omega, which is a canon Super-Heavy 'Mech that appears in Jihad: Final Reckoning.

Why isn't the SHP-X4 on sarna.net, if it's canon?

Honestly... looks like the Clans took the Omega project and revamped it to the Stone Rhino (Behemoth) and dumbed it down some...

Maybe they then rediscovered the design, took the Stone Rhino as it's main chassis base and remodeled it :o just speculating of course since I'm at work and can't find a drop of info on it at Sarna...

Why do people try to bash a guy for asking the Devs for a mech that is canon and comes from their own stories? Does it make you feel important? I just don't get it, at least it's not a pony thread if your looking to flame a person make sure you have good reason. Otherwise it just makes you look childish and a fool. I'm just reading the stories and getting into all the back lore of battletech, I do not claim I know it all but know if it's in a book it's canon. You'll see I have a very low post count, I'm a new member and from the way a few of you welcome newbies, I can say the community seems a bit rude, although some with knowledge have come to my defense and I thank you, the rest here to flame please just leave my post and take your opinion with you. :o

Okay... why do folks ask for things that are years from being released according to canon and lore? Do they expect the Devs to break under pressure because so many folks want something they can't have yet? :D

Because Final Reckoning is a fairly recent book and nobody made an article about it yet, I persume.

I'm sorry, you don't see to understand how game-breaking it would be to introduce ONE SINGLE 150 TON MECH into a carefully balanced PvP Mechwarrior game designed around 20-100 tons.

See my post count? I've seen AT LEAST two or three dozen threads like this demanding 100+ ton mechs, non-canon abominations (like the Ragnarok from Mechassault), and mechs that don't even exist at this point in canon (the year is 3049).

You have, so far, not given us ANY reason why the Devs should consider putting this ridiculous piece of Wobbie nonsense in their game, other than the fact that it exists in the Battletech universe.

Hell, the Ares is canon AND THEY NEVER EVEN BOTHERED TO COME OUT WITH OFFICIAL STATS FOR IT.

Mate I don't think it's a bad idea. Why does something have to be 'canon' to be in a game? IT'S A GAME!!!

I don't see why Mech's can't be added just cause there cool?

I have been following the game for a while now and while I don't post very often, it doesn't make me less of a fan. I don't play the TT game and I don't read the books, I just like the Mechwarrior franchise and love the games it has spawned.

So I say why the hell not, it's a damn cool looking Mech' and well within the rules (i.e. It's balanced and fair).

Put it in the game guys.

Who said they can't speed up the timeline a bit and after a year or two we are at the year 3070 and they can start making their own canon and keep the game fresh? I won't wait real life 20 years for it by then I can download my own crytek engine and model it myself...>_>

Why does it have to be canon to be in the game? Because if not, then why call it MechWarrior? If you aren't going to bother sticking to a guideline, then why even bother calling it that?

Here's a brilliant idea, go to the Star Wars Old Republic forums and demand that the devs put the USS Enterprise from Star Trek in the game and see how it goes over. I mean, it's just a game after all.

Do it then. The devs will do what the devs will do, but they sure as heck aren't going to put something that doesn't exist for 30+ years and shouldn't even exist in the first place in the game.

Gratz in your post count would you like a medal? Your post count doesn't make you right, just means you're wrong a lot. It's slow as hell I'm sure and would end up being a defense mech. Balance comes with size and speed... If I'm a slow big target, you should have no trouble killing me with a cordinated team, but you know everything... please just quit posting...

no we just sick of the pointlessness of it all :D

It wont happen, you know what the timeline is, and you know what the mechs are meant to be available to us, so why Foxtrotting ask about it?

At least the people asking for clan mechs have a small hope for the future, your request has as much hope as Bob Hope, which is to say none.

Seriously.

Was the other thread on 100T+ mechs not enough for you?

I'm not saying I know everything, I'm saying I've seen far too many idiots trying to shove a random mech into the game just because they think it looks cool, while completely ignoring the fact that one of the main focuses of Mechwarrior: Online is to immerse players in the Battletech Universe. They can't do that if they decide to throw things around that aren't in the correct time period, or add in a mech that only had maybe a dozen models actually made.

I think your missing the point, This is a Mech that has been created, drawn and designed with a full set of stats that don't allow it to be unbalanced.
I'm not saying we should put uber Mech's into the game that completely screw the game up. But what the OP has suggested seems to me to be a very nice addition and certainly something that, while doesn't have to be in the game at launch, shouldn't be dismissed out of hand just because it's not built for 20+ years in a book.

We've already gone over this. It's not on Sarna because no one's bothered to make an article for it yet. It shows up in Jihad: Final Reckoning.

The very fact that it's OVER 100 TONS makes it unbalanced! That's why it's the only canon 'mech over 100 tons that actually has stats for it! Mechs heavier than 100 tons were not meant to be a part of Battletech, the Omega is a Wobbie novelty unit.

Some of the community here is more dense than a blackhole. I hope the Devs don't listen to you guys too much otherwise this game will be dead before it starts... at some point they will have to start adding their own ideas to the battletech universe, because living in the past with all you old battletech fans will kill the game. Sure use battletech as the foundation, but don't hinder the game because the mech didn't exist from 1986 lore... to keep a F2P game fresh you'll need to add your own ideas sooner than later...

Where are these "full sets of stats"?

There is a LOT of history for the game to cover, even with potential time jumps via expansions, before we get anywhere near >100 ton mechs. A LOT of history.

So we're the dense ones for wanting a game that's balanced and sticks to the bountiful amounts of history that exists, rather than just throwing everything at a game to make it "cool".

Who's the dense one again?

Go play MechAssault 2 and let the adults have the game they've wanted since before you were born.
