Yeah, the only good use I've seen of mountain camo is the dude with the Mexican awesome.

I wanted to do flag schemes but again, it is just too expensive to consider multiple different paint schemes for different mechs.

I Do Not have one or two+ hundred dollars to lay down on virtual mech paintjobs, no matter how much I do want those virtual mech paintjobs.

Okay you really need to revamp your entire MC economic system.

First, you need to be able to buy MC in a 1:1 ratio with the real dollars you use to buy it.

$100? 25,000MC

$50? 12500MC

$25? 6250MC

Second, when you do generic stock variant sales you need to reduce 3 variants to be a decent cost. Like a bundle that has real value. Let's look at the Dragons.

DRG-5N - 2,040 MC / $8.16
DRG-1C - 1,900 MC / $7.60
DRG-1N - 1,935 MC / $7.74
Total - 5,875 MC / $23.50

Now any sale should take probably between 50-65% off the price of all of them together. The idea is by doing this you create a incentive to buy up all 3 variants so someone can try a new chassis for cheap or pick up one of the variants up for cheap.

Here's what I would do for a sale:

DRG-5N - 1,020 MC / $4.08
DRG-1C - 950 MC / $3.80
DRG-1N - 968 MC / $3.87
Total - 2,938 MC / $11.75

I don't know about you but $11.75 is a hell of a deal. If you already own a Dragon picking up the others for half off is HUGE. Now you can still run odd sales numbers because of the ability to convert Mech XP to General XP.

As it stands now your sales just don't create enough incentive to spend real money on a lot of stock chassis. Your sales on XP conversions (double the amount) are solid as well as sales of colors. Under this new system with mechs being cheaper I'd recommend camo pattern sales of only 250 MC off. I'd also recommend occasionally putting mech bays on sale for 250 MC instead of 300 MC.

right... 40$ for a single mech is to much.
The most full games I bought last 10 years were below this price.
I have 25MC left... and still keep waiting for a MC offer! ^^

Still haven't seen a 40 dollar mech. o.o; Heavy Metal, the most expensive MC mech, is $37.53 at multiple increments of 1,250 MC at a time. Average price is $31.10 if you get MC in 6,500 increments. It's $26.78 for the Heavy Metal if you get the 25,000 MC package.

At the very least, I continue to say that they should offer a "Buy the Flame, get a Fang for free" deal. Nobody has the Fang. Nobody wants the Fang. However it if came free with a Flame.. I might buy a Flame.

It's the deal that's begging to happen, let alone smart bundle pricing for MC 'mechs.

If people didn't buy them at the current prices then pgi would lower the price. If you hey haven't lowered the price then the price point must be right.

Putting a bunch of mediums on sale just prior to Blackjack hitting the market? You guys truely are sadists.

Tip: Save the 30% sales for hero mechs, standard mechs should get a 75% off sale at least if your hoping to bait people into forking up MC for a mech they can get for c-bills.

I'd buy a Jager for MC, just to save me the grind.

But Mediums have no useful role in the current Meta. You'll always earn more CBills and XP in a Light or a Heavy/Assault.

It's sad, because I actually like running Mediums. But there's no good reason to in the current Metagame.

HUMM lets see nope! I would suggest a 1/2 price off on mechbays to go along with your sales or maybe a buy 2 mechbays get 1 free deal .Same with the oddball mechs buy 2 get 1 free. Or I know buy 2 mechs get 1 free and 3 free mechbays now there are some real deals .Or maybe buy a hero mech get the mechbay free?.

Well i think its safe to say now that this sale was a flop, i cant see anything in this thread being positive all to much, talking to people i play with generally agree this was a cash grab before the Blackjack comes out.

So in closing...

You raised my hopes and dashed them quite expertly, sir. Bravo

..."Metagame"? What metagame? There's just Flavour Of The Month Syndrome. (FOTMS). Only way to explain why Raven even appears, Raven is the WORST light mech of all. (Too big! TOO BIG! At least Spider, for the crappy hardpoints, is insanely fast, and will only get faster with MASC). If you can hit one at 800m with a Gauss Rifle and still leg it, it's bad. I've done that twice. Besides, Raven is a curse.

Anyway, I digress. I play Hunchback quite regularly, and I see a lot of Cicada and a few Centurions around. Only mechs that don't really appear too often are Trebuchet, but let's face it, Trebuchet is simply a smaller, crappier Highlander. Not sure how Blackjack will change anything. Also, my -4H was known to solo against Atlas, and beat AC20 Jager (Hint: Hit the side torsos. Paper-thin armor and an XL). Too bad I mastered it and sold it for the worst Hunchback chassis, the -4J. I mean, LRMs? If I wanted SRMs on a Hunchback, or SSRMs, I would run a -4SP, so I run LRMs. Mount a PPC and two short-range lasers, and bam, one of the stupidest builds you will ever see wandering the battlefield. Barring the 6xMG Jagermech I saw once...

Medium mech sale... but... where is Cicada? :)
I was looking to buy some friends for my X-5.

But the Cicada is a light mech, it just ate too much for breakfast. ;)

I don't know, this is by no means a bad sale but PGI still charges too much for some mechs. Look at the Misery for example. It literally costs 25 bucks.

I do understand if people complain about prices and that's why there are sales like this. But i dont understand why people complain that the mechs are bad because the hunchback 4H is definitely the best hunchback variant out there. I was actually planning to buy a hunchback and suddenly the sale came up. And I got the 4H. I havent been dissappointed by it yet it's actually useful to have more speed to chase down lights and brawl with assaults.

None of us are forced to pay a dime to play this game. MWO is actually one of the few FTP games that you can play completely for free and do as well as someone who spends thousands of dollars. It just takes longer if you don't spend money, and you won't have a cool paintjob.
