ECM changes, along with BAP influences, and the PPC nerf should prove pretty beneficial for the game.


Looking forward to seeing how things balance out in a couple of hours in my new Blackjack!

Yay HSR and damage fix for SRMS! Finally it will make mediums useful again instead of having to shoot softballs at mechs that might or might not hit ......... or not

wow, lots of changes. Will have to take some time to test all of that...

I disagree with the AMS buff though - it will shift LRMs more towards all or nothing builds, 70LRM stalkers etc, while hurting 30LRM catapults and trebutchets. I'd rather make those builds more viable.

I'm surprised that they increased LRM damage but did nothing to SSRM (which unless made different, could stay at their current power) and nothing to SRMs. Am I the only one who sees almost no SRMs anymore?

Eight lasers, and right up near a hundred klicks an hour maximum speed if I'm any judge of rating-to-weight ratios. That little bass tarp is going to be nasty.

As for the others...unsure. Everything but the 1X suffers from the non-3L Raven problems of being both light and slow, which as we all know is a serious problem. The AC/5 changes may help some of the ballsier BJ pilots...but I foresee the 1X being the only really serious threat in the BJ line.

That said...dat 1X. The HBK-4P just went extinct.

Players should be much less likely to get disconnected from a game due to poor network conditions.

I use SRMs over SSRMs on my lights w/o ECM.

While I agree somewhat, it's also a case that the majority of people currently don't equip AMS [from my experience anyway] so this may be a shift in the other direction which will result in a slight shift back to find the balance. Hopefully it'll work out and the addition of people equipping more AMS should help deal with boating issues [if you see that as an issue].

Looks like the alpha strike and JJ change is moved to next patch.

PPC change is fine, it was disturbing they had lower CD than LLasers, with a higher damage too.

Adv. Seismic feels a bit strong to me. Its basically 400m free wallhack. Sub 300m builds will have a bad time trying to sneak up... I say this as a long ranged player.
