Tried to play 2 games so far, both got about 2 minutes into the game then black screen crash back to home screen. Ran Jenner in one match and a Jager in the other so it does not appear to be a problem isolated to the new mech. DXDiag:

Ran 3 matches, crashed to Mechlab on two. Nothing out of the ordinary. One was River City Night, the other Frozen City. Awesome and Atlas. No errors or defining characteristics.

I received a corrupted download message while downloading the patch, I chose the option to retry, but it seems like the download is still messed up. I'm only about halfway through after an hour, (it should have finished by now.) I have a bad feeling that I'm going to have to wipe the game from my HD and clean install again just to get the game to run.

I've been playing for months without crashing. After the last patch, I began crashing to the mechlab on occasion, just about 2 or 3 times a day (which is sometimes more than 12 hours of play, never at the very beginning of a match and sometimes after I was dead anyway. Today I've been trying to play for about 3 hours. I got in about 5 good matches, and have spent the rest of the time crashing, sometimes to mechlab and sometimes to desktop. I've been crashing toward the beginning of the match now, before making any contact with the enemy, sometimes during the loading/powering-up sequence. Most often it's been just about 10 seconds after the match begins. When I crash to desktop a notice that Windows found problems and is closing the program.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium with a AMD Phenom IIx4 970 processor at 3.50GHz. and I have 8 GB RAM.

It was working fine from about 3:40 am to about 5:40 am. Then I crashed to mechlab to games in a row. Both times I was jumping while shooting at something.

In three matches, I've had two CTD at map loading screen.

Twice now, when trying to join a game, as soon as a game is found and it goes to game mode, I get dumped back to desktop with no error message and the launcher is closed, and when I log back in, the mech I tried to join a game with shows in a game.

EDIT: Three times now, tried deleting shaders folder, no luck

5 matches tonight, 3 crashes to mechlab, different mechs, different maps

Crashed in 7 of 10 games. Running a CPLT-C4 and COM-1B, so it's not limited to the new mechs. Also crashed on any map. Tried deleting shaders first; no luck. Next, ran the repair tool; also no luck.

About 2 mins into the game, the screen goes black, and I drop back to the home screen. It's crashed when I'm just standing there with or without an enemy targeted. Firing or not. Activity doesn't seem to coincide with a crash.

I've been running MWO since closed Beta without much issues (thank God), but for the last few days (pre- May 21 patch), I've been experiencing screen freezes. Frequency is about 2 - 3 times in 4 - 6 hours. Happens during a match or at the start of a match, without any error message. Alt tab out to desktop and back into game used to be able to fix this for me, but now it just turns into a black screen.

I7 Quad core, 4Gb Ram, GT650M, SSD harddrive, Win7 64bit.

Crashed 4 out of 7 games. Seconds into the game and the screen will go black. Then I'm back to the home screen. Have not crashed since the patch before this.

the game runs fine with no fps or ping issues.the problem is the game freezes frequently where I must use task manager to close the program.it freezes at random times while playing.tried re-installing also tried the file check program to no avail.this all started with the april patches.i understand this is still beta but I hope that you all at pgi will please work out stability issues that some of us are having.i'll try a support ticket and hope they look into it.

4 games tried and all unplayable. Each one goes to black screen on launch. Stays like that for a while, then goes to loading screen, then black screen again. When it starts it's about 30 seconds after everyone's left base. It goes through a sped-up startup procedure and then is unplayable. Game seems to update about once every 20 seconds so I can move around and fire, but when it updates I get rubber-banded to where it thinks I should be. I can see other players' helpful messages but can't type.

Ping is normal at about 240. No errors on repair tool. I have submitted a ticket with dxdiag etc attached.

Let me guess: no testing on higher latency conenctions again?

ever since april i have been crashing every game. after todays patch i manage to squeeze in 10+ games before a crash, then 8, then 5 and now im back to crashing every game.

Since the patch i have gotten 4 "MWO has stopped responding"

This never happened yesterday or before, it happens right after hitting launch or right as the map is loading

20+ Attempted drops all resulted in black screen. If I let the process sit for about 10 mins I'll be spat back out to the mechbay. Ran the MWO repair tool to no avail, no change.

Can't even play the game.

im having a activity issue when im in home/mech lab screen im getting average 34% activity according to amd over drive screen once out of this area it goes away also heats the systems up im at 46C nothing running with it off i go to around 33C. it goes away once i launch but when i return usally crashes and has to restart system.



ok i did the tool fixer and here is what i get now.. average temp 32-35C
1) started it up to patch/start screen no change in activity or heat
2)to log in screen activity jump up little around 28% back to 0% no change in temp.
3)log in to home/mechlab screen activity jumps to 58-59% and stays that way. temps jump to 53C and stays that way.
4)once i quit the game it goes back to normal temps around 32-35C


i am using Amd Catalyst go under performance then to amd overdrive you will see your info on heat/activity. for nvidia i have no idea what you guys can use. This game used to be playable now i cant even get past home/mechlab screen without risking overheating. my friend that also plays has the same problem. hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Dear developers,
I never changed anything in setup after the patch. I can launch and as soon as I get the picture of sitting in the mech I get a black screen and am out of the game. If i am really lucky I get as far as powering up. By the way, it doesnt matter wether I use a trial-mech or an owned-mech, nor wether it`s a conquest game or an assault game.

The only thing that doesnt crash is the training-ground. There I can play :P Please HOTFIX this asap!!!!!!! Thank you for listening.

Please attempt to respond to the following questions in your responses:
  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur?

In some cases we've seen that deleting the shaders folder and relaunching the game will solve these crashes and related issues.




Simply delete the shaders folder located here by default:

I am getting a malformed packet crash that apparently has something to do with the buffers in the game.

1 - There was no error message. Upon looking into the Omicron file I am getting a malformed packet and the buffers are having issues.
2 - The crash is occurring in game, sometimes during the midst of a battle but generally happens right at the start of the game (within the first 30 seconds to 2 minutes)
3 - There are no "steps" I just launch the game like normal and eventually I crash.
4 - Yes, constantly. The crash happens nearly every game. And the ones it doesn't happen on I have no idea why it doesn't.
5 - My video settings haven't changed at all. I run everything on high/ultra with one exception and that is post processing which is on low.

Here's the thing, I have reinstalled the game from scratch, contacted MWO support and given them everything they've asked (ping test info, trace route into, omicron logs, dxdiag etc.), Updated my graphics drivers, ran the MWO repair tool. I have done just about everything on MY side of things.

This error is a problem with packets getting corrupted or created with faulty information/programming which is causing the crash to menus. It's perfectly readable in every omicron file. The weird thing is this ALWAYS happens after a patch. Whether big or small the game has this issue for me for 2-4 days after the patch. After those 2-4 days this issue will randomly clear up and it won't happen again till the next patch.
