Unfortunately, the crash to desktop occurs again since the new Patch was applied.

No error message.

2 types of crashes (this is out of about 50 matches)

2 crashes upon launching, it finds a match, goes to the screen showing which map you are going to, then game closes with no errors before I see the screen showing teams and players

2 crashes during matches, game screen freezes, (waited 10-15 mins each time and it did not unfreeze even when match would have ended). Both times windows did not show a not responding in task manager, but I did need to use the end task to exit. (I am certain the second happened while it was still giving voiceover on component destruction, the first I think might have been but not sure, also could just be coincidence)

IMPORTANT: make it so you can rejoin a match by selecting mech in the match and clicking launch. This will remove 95% of the problem with crashes on match entry, and I cannot think of a single way it can be abused. Also this will help for any future crashing problems not only present ones.

Crash to black screen and then mechlab.

Sometimes right away, some times after a period of time, few matches played to the end.

System Specs:
Intel I5 3570 K
8GB corsair dominator platinum ram 2666
Sapphire Radeon 7870 OC edition

No heat issues in the case or on the card itself. This was only an occasional happening before the patch. Since patch time it has been brutal.

Exactly these symptoms. My Omicron.log files are showing malformed packets too.

What's weird is that yesterday after patch I played for maybe 3-4 hours without a single issue or crash. Now today, I've only had one out of about 6 matches actually get past the initial load, and that one crashed within a minute.

Needless to say, this makes for a frustrating, unplayable, mess.

Getting crash to mechlab, sometimes at the start of a game, sometimes mid game, no errors.

I'd say its around 50% of the time maybe more, been playing since open beta with no problems, nothings changed.

Update: I've managed to actually start to play a couple matches now. I've noticed rubber-banding that I've never had before. My ping, both in the MWO client and in general, is very low. Most of my matches still crash on load, and the few I've actually played in crash before the end as well.

All those fun steps like running the repair tool and such have done nothing for me.

Bad netcode?

Neither me nor any of my friends have had any crashes or hud bugs so far. Looking very good on this front.

Think it is a anti-virus problem.

Turned mine off and the game ran ok.

Attempted 4 games. Crashed 3x to the mech lab. Was crashing half the time last night. Seems worse, or I have a bad run of luck. Either way, I'm done until this is fixed. Too annoying to beta test if I can't even really "test".

Crashing still frequent but have narrowed an area of time I get hit. During the mornings and just a bit passed the lunch hour I can do fine. No crashes and able to get many matches in and use whatever mech I desire. But during peak hours and lots of people wanting to play and what not, i get hit with a lot of crashes and kick backs to mech lab or even desktop. I have had 3 instances of every mech I can choose from is stuck in a game I have been crashed from. Its getting a bit annoying and bothersome since I really like to play this game. I know its not my computer setup since It has handled everything made so far with best graphics.

Specs:
AMD Phenom 3.4Ghz
8 Gb memory
Radeon 6800HD card

Crashes to mechlab are quite common and extremely random. I'll be playing just fine, then all of a sudden, I'll hit a black screen and then crash to the mechlab with no error message.

Running at 1920x1080, all settings low except for textures (high) and shadows (medium). Vsync on, Post AA on.

AMD Athlon II x4 620, OC'd to 3.31 GHz
GeForce GTX 550 Ti OC'd to 998 Mhz Core
4GB DDR2 800 Kingston HyperX RAM

Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
  • None. Softlock / Frozen screen with looped audio.
Where in the game or menus did the crash occur?
  • In game, testing grounds, approximately 5 minutes in duration, shooting random mechs. Hit/Killed an AWS-90 with two arm-mounted MLs.
What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
  • Deleted caches; ran repair tool; virtually clean (re)install from previous troubleshooting sessions.
Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
  • Frequently. As in, just about everygame; sometimes after having taken just a few steps away from starting positions; other times several minutes later into the game; completely random, no discernable pattern as of yet.
What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
  • 1920x1080; Full Window; Motion Blur off; DX9 (greyed out/stock option); all advanced video settings set to "very high", PostAA; No 3D; Brightness/Gamma 0.5; V-Sync off. Settings unchanged from previous patches where the game ran smoothly.
What are your System specs?

Crashed to game client during play on large maps (Alpine, Canyon and Tourmaline) in 4 man groups. About 5 mins into the game, got kicked of group as well.

Video Settings: 1920x1080, game visual settings custom (almost everything high or v-high, v-sync on.

All Temperatures normal.

Edit:

Affects other maps as well after longer play. I did not have this issue before this patch, just started this week with Tuesday's patch.

Same problem. Almost impossible to play for me, about 90 percent Malformed packet issue. I played WWIIONLINE and had no problems with disconnects. I tried all different setups and firewall settings, etc and issue will not go away. Pretty much unplayable for me at this moment.

I had the very same issue now 4 games in a row. Never happened to me before this patch. Game is unplayable right now.

Check the other thread in here, it is probably a malformed packet that kicks you out of the game.

4/4 games have ended with CTD since the patch, which was very rare before. Seems to always happen at the tail end of a game... Like when I'm winning. Thanks alot Piranha :(

Game is unplayalbe, just as ace of spades points out.

I seem to be getting this about 10% of the time.

While a game is in progress, I'll drop to the launcher.

Omicron.log says this:
CGameRules::OnDisconnect: Client has disconnected: cause=eDC_ProtocolError, desc=Remote disconnected: Malformed packet

When this happens, I am unable to select the mech I launched with until the other players finish the match.

Given that I'm a new player and only own one mech... it's fairly annoying. As I'm a new player, I have no idea if this is patch related.

Playing for most of the day, crashes only have started to happen, more and more frequent now...

Double clicking R seems to do it? I swear it's been 3/5 crashes and I've seen the end of 1 game so far.

Also, thanks for doing NOTHING to fix the insane SSRM mechanics.

Update: 10/11 games have crashed.

Patch = Pain in the arse.

Get two to eight minutes into the game and I get booted to login screen. Repeatedly saying "Session Was Lost". Internet connection is fine, play other online games no issues, surf the web, you name it.

This is getting really old, really fast. Whats the point of having the game if ya can't play it?
