frozen city shows where this sensor is ridiculous
- no reason to scout cave; you'll know if they go there.
- when running jenner highway, you know if anyone is at kappa (so you know whether you should go up the hill to kappa or just continue on to sigma
- not that there was ever a reason to run over the hill/plane unless you're in a roflstomp, but now you *really* don't have to to see what's on the other side.
- running between buildings around pretty much any cap point - you know exactly which way the enemy is heading so buildings aren't 'cover' anymore and you can jump any mech running from you.

I'm really starting to question whether some of you know how to pilot. Seismic Sensor has a 200m radius (400m diameter). If you can't sneak around someone that can only see you 75% of the range of a Medium Laser, you're just bad. Every map has their typical starting points and you should know them by now. Avoiding them is the key to going undetected and was before this module even came out.

400m isn't the diameter for the Advanced Seismic Sensor, it's the radius.

Someone hasn't upgraded to advanced yet.

Hrm, I glossed right over the fact that they had an Advanced version of that. Wow, I retract what I wrote. No wonder Wispy wrote what he did.

What's the scout supposed to do after he finds the enemy's static trench? There's nothing left to scout at that point.

Here's what I was doing last night, which was pretty hilarious.
Run around with a NARC.
Run up to bad guy and shoot the narc into his chest.
Run away.

Teammate loads up a million LRM's onto his mech.
Teammate fires at narced mech.
Hillarity ensues when a giant meteor flies out of the sky and obliterates the enemy.

The current narc functionality is still kind of wonky.. and I think that Omid said that it will cut through ECM, but I don't believe that it does currently. Once that happens, then the NARC is actually going to be a fairly useful piece of tech, assuming missiles continue to do damage.

I thought it cut through ECM now?

I love the new Seismic Sensor, seriously who doesn't?

Probably lights only.

If anything, the only downside is it's huge cost, but really, a module this good was out due already.

Cuz you referred to it as 'game breaker'

Show respect for the Seismic majesty

and call it by correct nomenclature

Lord, Emperor of the Star League, etc.

Apparently, some rude admin had some vague reason to delete my topic. Got not even a ''why''. :P

I started Trebuchets since the day before the patch and I already am my team's scout most of the time lol. I don't even have speed tweak yet and I outrun almost everyone. Just need to add 10 more tons...

It's a game breaker. Don't deny it.

Or you're just sarcastic.

Edit; Yeah, had a hunch.

Just 20 tons more, and we can have the Charger.

Not sure we want to, but we can. Perhaps.

I'm not sure, really. There were times where it seemed like it did, but then there were times where ECM seemed to block it.

Can anyone confirm exactly when a narc beacon will be visible as a target to friendlies?

Sounds to me like the range is just excessive, 200m/400m (regular/advanced) should probably go down to 150m/250m.

EDIT: actually I had a better idea 3 posts down where lighter mechs have lower detectable range on a linear scale based on weight

Lol, it still would kill the possibility to sneak up. Seismic has to get removed completely.
