“A Pair of Shoes” – author unknown

I am wearing a pair of shoes.

They are ugly shoes.

Uncomfortable shoes.

I hate my shoes.

Each day I wear them, and each day I wish I had another pair.

Some days my shoes hurt so bad that I do not think I can take another step.

Yet, I continue to wear them.

I get funny looks wearing these shoes. They are looks of sympathy.

I can tell in others’ eyes that they are glad they are my shoes and not theirs.

They never talk about my shoes.

To learn how awful my shoes are might make them uncomfortable.

To truly understand these shoes you must walk in them.

But, once you put them on, you can never take them off.

I now realise that I am not the only one who wears these shoes.

There are many pairs in this world.

Some women are like me and ache daily as they try and walk in them. Some have learned how to walk in them so they don’t hurt quite as much.

Some have worn the shoes so long that days will go by before they think about how much they hurt.

No woman deserves to wear these shoes.Yet, because of these shoes, I am a stronger woman. These shoes have given me the strength to face anything.

They have made me who I am.

I will forever walk in the shoes of a woman who has lost a child.

Thank you for sharing that. A friend of mine lost her child when he was at a very young age. While cancer was not the cause. I am sending this to her as I know she will understand.

Despite in OKC right now with everything we are going through right now, I still had tears to shed for your little one. I can't imagine the pain of slowly watching her go like that. Its well known I have a "co-pilot" that enjoys watching daddy play "bobots" and asking me to shoot Cyntari even when he's in my lance. God bless all of you and I'm right there with everyone, I can't stand jenners but I'd buy and run one into the ground for Sarah.

This is just so tragic. So sensless and unfair. How anyone can believe in a God that allows this sort of thing to happen to innocent children is beyond me. My condolences to the family.

Please dont bring religion into this my friend. Maybe a god had a plan for this young one and needed small angels as well.

You have my condolences, this is a sad story. I encourage PGI to open some sort of donation process for cancer victims in light of this, just as I would have approved had they already been doing so. I don't think it's right to create special in game content for this tragedy though, it sends a mixed signal of profiteering and sets the precedent where the next tragedy will either require the same or be treated as lesser by the developers and community. Realistically, if this game is even moderately popular this won't be the last event like this that effects the games community, and it's not proper for a corporate entity to mark every loss with a sale. Even if well intended that has every appearance of exploitation and there are much better ways to go about this.

I hope you realize that the suggestion is that the proceeds from the sale would go to charity, not to profit for PGI.

Which is why I said appearance. People don't even trust that the founders packages weren't funneled out of the company to other projects. If you want to give to a charity there are dozens of actual charities with good web integration and lots of transparency. One of these sites could be on this website today not in 45 days when the content and patch timeline allows for the integration of a custom mech sale. Hell, they could just put an MC tab up for direct donations without even a mech. Forcing the creation and advertisement of an in game for-sale item specifically tied to one specific victim is a bad idea for the precedent that it sets as well as the appearance of impropriety.

My Mom is almost done with her cancer treatment so I know that the family must be under a lot of stress, but I can't imagine what it must be like to know that it is inoperable. My condolences to the family.

In light of this weekend being Memorial day weekend. I am asking for my fellow pilots to stable your usual ride in favor of a Jenner if that isn't the norm.

For me, that is the case as I am usually in a Cicada or heavier though if you find the time to drop in a match, for the memory and to honor Sarah that if you have a Jenner, drop in a match. Either the Trial, or a custom. If you can purchase one via C-bills?

Drop at least one match?
