Give the family time to grief their loss. They are the ones having the final word on the matter. They just lost something very important and for us to call out to them to "make it now" is insensitive.
Let it be the hero/paintjob/decorative item/statue on a map/whatever after the Jager, or even beyond the hero after the Jager or whenever they feel strong enough to handle it. Please, do not rush them!

Egomane is right, guys. I would love a direct response from the Devs myself, but I didn't expect her mech, or any other memorial, to be released this month. Whatever they decide to do, they'll need time to code, implement, and release it.
There is no way they haven't noticed this thread, and I'm certain they have talked about it. I'm also certain they are discussing the most tasteful way to approach something like this. A lot of us have voiced strong opinions about some kind of memorial, and more than a few have contradicted each other. While we are putting them in a position to do something amazing, we are also, unfortunately, forcing them to walk a bit of a tight rope, here. They have to think of not only the opinions of everyone here, and the opinions of Sarah's family, but also of the precedent they may set.
We have stated our thoughts, and will continue to do so. This thread grows, and the poll accumulates votes daily, but we have to give PGI time to sort through their options.
I beg everyone, give them time, and keep an open mind towards any suggestions they may proffer in the near future. They may be struggling with legal and technical issues we don't know about. Give them the benefit of the doubt on this one, at least this time. This is a huge, huge thing, and deserves a huge investment of forethought.
I have no doubt that, whatever they do, the amount of behind-the-scenes work will be enormous.
Thanks for the patience, guys. Just keep the poll going, and keep in mind what it's all for. You all, as always, rock hard.

(No rage intended by this guys... patience I agree is understandable... just want to re-enforce the idea that there should be something released to support the cause)

This isn't about getting money from us.
This isn't about us just wanting a hero mech.
This isn't a disrespect to Sarah by shooting at her favourite mech.
This is just a game.
This is a way to pay respect for her because she was a Mechwarrior, a 5-year old Mechwarrior. It's not everyday you see that.
This is a way to "immortalize" Sarah, and a way to always remember her, the cancer disease and consider donations.
This is just a game.
Donations are all good, but the purpose in here is to make PGI donate our money while we get a memorial of her in-game.
By having her mech, even people who didn't know about this would be helping directly by just buying her mech.
Even people who don't care at all would be helping by just buying her mech.

I can't play MWO on my computer but when I read a write up for the original thread at battletech.com I had recovered my password just for this.
I would like to volunteer a drawing of both Sarah and her Jenner, including whatever loadout and paint scheme, custom flash (something with GET 'EM GOOD! would work great) and a drawing of her with it wearing a cooling vest and other accoutrements . Now I'm not much of an artist, but I can make something that people can remember- if they like. I know this sub doesn't get much attention. I don't want any money or notoriety. I'm just wanting to help. I can be reached at dayaninikhaton@gmail.com

I lost my mother 9 years ago to brain cancer that went completely undetected until it was too late, and though I'd never dare compare that to the loss of a child, the story opens an old wound for me. I will back this endeavor up completely and I will patiently wait for the news of pending release.

I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for wanting to make someone else's a little bit easier.
