What you are basically saying is that it is okay to turn the death of a young girl into profit.
Do you not see what's inherently wrong with that?
Instead of giving, let's say, $50 directly to cancer research, you would give $10-20 to PGI from that sum just so that you could get swag in return? How could anyone be okay with that, unless you're really just after personal gain over actually promoting awareness?
Anything that could be done to raise awareness and work as a memorial for Sarah can and should be done for free without PGI/IGP/CryEngine taking a cut - and all of your money should go directly to cancer research or the family instead.
No, that is not what I am saying at all, even slightly.
1) I don't care about 'swag'. I don't own any Hero Mech's currently and I haven't pushed for this Mech to be designed. This is the first time I've commented on this other than to say I would buy it if they made it. I will buy it because it's
great idea and a great charity to support.
2) It's a bit cynical and arrogant of you to assume you know anything about my motivation when you don't know me.
3) I donate to my fair share of charities including donating time each year to raise awareness for men's health (Movember) and for Children With Cancer through a local fishing competition held in my town (I sponsor prizes and help with my personal time/money).
I don't know about where you live, but there are plenty of products in this country that donate a percentage of their sale to charity, even memorial products. It's called overheads. Electricity, gas, phone, internet, staff wages, costs of design and a million other things. It's got absolutely zero to do with greed or profit-mongering.
It's all moot anyway because Bryan has said all money will go to Cancer research and that is great and I applaud his decision heartily. It also goes a long way to showing the actual shape of MechWarrior: Online if they feel this is something they can do no worries. I think it's fantastic!
