We have very different ways of fundraising in America. If her family approves a design in her memory, and the proceeds go to funding research that can save lives, then it is a lovely and worthwhile gesture that in no way diminishes the tragedy of the situation.

We are not monsters nor terrible human beings.

I approve of this message, and would tottaly support the idea myself and get one. Honest fund raisers to support such worthwhile causes is always a good thing and one of the best ways to commemorate somebody.

you can do this by donating to any cancer organization that already exists, with the memorial being the donation itself that has gone to further the cause of curing this terrible disease.


you want to do something about cancer there are numerous other organizations that already exist to help stop the spread of and to cure cancer. PGI is not one of them and should not be dragged into this. you don't include something as serious as this into a game, it's highly ******* inappropriate and will only cheapen the seriousness of this disease by includuing it into a videogame it clashes within.

you want to support PGI? Buy some ******* MC. You want to donate to cancer research? contact american/UK/whatever cancer society and donate to them. these organizations are seperate of one another and do not need be intermingled. don't shoe-horn **** in where it doesn't belong.

I support this idea, why the hell not link us as a gaming community in a good way with a pressing concern that affects most of us (surely it has affected me). It doesn't stop anyone from doing whatever he or she sees fit in RL.

I'd just like to see well documented where the money goes, and some effort put into identifying the beneficiary.

I'd buy the mech.

Sorry, but I think you have totally missed the point.

This isn't just about raising money for cancer research. This is about showing support for the family of someone who enjoyed this game by doing something within said game.

Every time they look at these threads or,see that hero Jenner (if it happens) they can take heart that there are people here that care about their loss.

Ok Frakwit sit down and shut the frak up. for one I've survived cancer twice, I've lost family, an eye and friends to cancer, the fact that a you take offense to a gesture like this speaks of the small pitiful mind that doesn't quite grasp the idea of charitible gestures, from expericance I KNOW and LOVE the feel of some one sticking thier neck out and saying we'll support you and we will do something totally rediculous to do it, and all the more in the memory of some one else thats lost the battle.

this has FRAK all to do with mear money, this is the human touch you twerp, yes it seems like an empty gesture to you but it's doing something to honor and cherish the memory of a child lost, it may never help a grieving parent, but we are not focusing on her death rather we want to celebrate her life, and the love she had in it, NO ammount of money will ever top that.

a Hero Mech in Sarah's memory is a fitting memorial to her fight, and even if the funds raised seem like a hollow gesture to you, it is STILL a gesture of a community as a whole reaching out to lend it's support for it's people.

This idea, completly depends on the parents agreement. If the parents agree to it, there is no objectionable content here. Your personal view may differ, but there is no bad intend here.

If you feel the need to object this idea, there are constructive ways to voice your opinion. You'll need to accept though, that your point of view is not the only acceptable one.

If she loved Streak Jenner, let's just have a charity sale. Of, say, JR-7D (max missiles), CDA-X5 (same concept, but bigger badder), some colors/patterns maybe. Design a CUSTOM CAMO PATTERN - like those yellow flowers on the picture or something else. Seems far less awkward and controversial than an hero 'mech.

A Mech for Sarah, is a two fold thing. First It serves as a tribute, I can't send my condolences to the family, I can't help or replace any of the emotional damage caused by this, nor can I help any of the countless family's effected by cancer.

I can however donate to charity to help reduce the turmoil such things produce, whether I donate to research or hospice care I will make a difference.

If your not happy with making a donation via buying a lasting reminder that such things happen, then there are plenty of charity's which will greatly accept a donation which will help.

But I feel that these things should be remembered, a Brightly coloured mech in a computer game may seem a strange reminder, but I know that as least once someone will ask "Whats that Mech?" and I'll reply "Its my reminder that Cancer still needs to be beaten"

We forget so many important things in our lives, let not this be one.

So yes, this is as good a time and place as any.
