I understand getting upset about someone attempting to profit from tragedy, or grief. I see it on the news everyday and it ****** me right off as well. That being said I don't think the intent behind this is to profit from anyone's tragedy, or grief. It is to generate funds for cancer research, and help out the poor girls family.

I could see PGI taking a small portion of Sara's mech sales to pay for whatever design costs they have, so long as they then donate the profits to charity, or the families medical bills. I cant imagine it would cost much to pick out some hard points, and a custom skin pattern. They should have plenty of ideas for both lying around.

Granted you could ensure more of your personal money went to research/family by donating directly, but that doesn't make this charity a bad idea. A charity like this could gather more than might normally be donated, and help keep up awareness at the same time. I see nothing wrong with selling people something they want, and then giving the profits to a good cause.

I Dr Cyanide First suggested that PGI should make a hero mech, if you wish to direct your arguments about poor timing, bad taste, and profiteering direct them at ME. not the game not the supporters, not even the person that started this poll, me. I will take full resposibility and appologise to her parents if they object or even go further.

I will gladly shoulder that, because all survivors, all fighters batteling it and all those who have lost thier battle should never be forgotten and Sarah is a sharp reminder of the focus we some times lack.

being nice and doing nice things is not what they want... they only glory in the suffering of someone else at thier leisure.
The concepts of empathy, community and caring gestures mean nothing to them if they can use them to spread what ever misery binds them to that behavior.

Let try our best to keep this positive and on topic. I'd hate to see such a good-hearted thread turn into a debate and end up locked. Ignore the trolling. Any one of us with a half a brain (or half a heart) already knows this is a great idea with only the best intentions.

Also, lets let PGI and/or the poor girl's family decide exactly how to honor Sarah in MWO however they want if they decide they want to. Suggestions are great, and I've seen a ton of real gems, but lets not argue about them. This isn't about us, what we want, or don't want, This is all about Sarah and those who she left behind. It doesn't matter what is done. Just that something is done, and more importantly, that we show our support.

I lost my Nice at the Age of 2 to cancer and even though i was just the uncle it still pains me to think about her demise and i think that i can understand the feeling of the parents to some degree.

This idea is wonderful!!!!
If PGI would create such a Mech i would buy it to support Research and to Support the familiy of this brave little Mechwarrior!

It's a great idea. There have been a lot of other great ideas on here, too. The main thing is to get something as a memorial to Sarah, and something that sends partial or total proceeds to cancer-related charity. I'm a fan of the Hero Mech because of the walking memorial it would provide, but any of these wonderful ideas would be welcomed if implemented.

I am supporting the idea of a "fundraiser mech" very much... if it's technically possible.
So yeah, if this is the case, feel free to take my money and donate it to people who need it more than me.
