You are the saddest piece of humanity I have ever seen. This whole idea has NOTHING to do with just donating to cancer research. The whole idea from what a sound minded person can gather (IE the community) that you are ashamed to be a part of it is to pay tribute to a girl by making something (hero jenner) to be a memorial for her. Don’t you even think for a second that these people do not donate to charity selflessly. We are not here to gain something we are here to pay tribute to a 5 year old girl who lost her life far too early. Trash like you should be removed from this community.... and hopefully you remove yourself if your so "ashamed" go troll some where else your kind is not welcomed here.

I think certain colours like green and yellows or a special camo pattern would be a better idea PGI should 100% get behind this.

Thank you for the passion, Dave, but they are entitled to their opinion. Just let them say what they would like to say. This is about Sarah and her grieving family. We can just all think of what we're trying to accomplish, and let others feel as they wish to feel.

The Color idea is one that has been tossed around, and is another awesome idea. I'd love to see the category named "Sarah's Colors" or "Sarah's Crayon Box" or such like.

As said, I just want something to be done in memorial to her.

Its a really sad story that hit home... and i hope that the parents and friends of the family will find peace.

However I can and I will not support... the idea of a special premium Mech. I don't know how anybody can think that it would be great to shoot at something that should be part of a remembrance for a child? Nothing that gave you any gain but the knowlege to did something use full with your money instead of wasting it on a computergame to get a X bonus on - senseless c-bills or XP.

Yes founding money is acceptable and i will do that - when you create a "ribbon" or similar for your MechCockpit.... and i will gladly buy some - but my moralistic attitude will not allow me to continue in a game when Sarah Premium Mech are in the field.

I absolutely support this statement.

Do you really wanna shot a Jenner named after a dead girl? Sorry, this is immoral and unethical.

I would by a ribbon, but not a running tombstone or shoot at it....

I'm sorry you both feel this way. We aren't seeing it as a running tombstone, but as a way that she can always be playing the game she loved to play with her daddy. She shot mechs, she got shot, and she'd try to "get 'em good", and she loved it.

Still, I appreciate the civility of your statements. Thank you.

Hey zraven,

some thoughts of mine:
1. it could be an option to create a Sarah Jenner as Statue for the Cockpit, so no one would have to shoot this Memento of a Mech on the Battlefield
2. could you tell me why PGI posted the Pic you are using in your Signature wih a Raven instead of Jenner? Was it on purpose? Sorry if i overlooked a post explaining this :D

*thumpsup* for you!

and for all those who dislike the idea:
it´s okay, you got your opinion and others got their, just don´t start a flame war from this topic
And call me nerd or whatever you like, but i would have appreciated the idea of a Memento like this for my Nice, but that was long ago.....back2topic

Yeah I agree, I got a little to blinded by such a one eyed rash opinion I edited my post to make sure this thread stays about paying tribute to sarah not a thread for forum trolls to parade in.

First, a cockpit memento or ribbon or paint color would be fine. I just want something to be done in memory to her.

My thoughts behind the Jenner:

1) It would be purchased, over and over, long after this, providing more and more donations to Cancer Reasearch. And yes, I know people are, and should be, donating directly to cancer research, and this is awesome. This mech would be purchased by not only us, though, but future players who hear the story, or who like the colors, or who just want another Jenner. It would be more and more people getting it, as long as the game runs, who are also providing money to cure Cancer.

2) It would be a way that Sarah would always be playing the game she loved. It would be a running, jumping monument to her.

I know a some people would prefer other memorials, and that is fine. I just want something done for her.

As far as the Raven, in many cultures and beliefs, ravens guide the souls of the passed to their next destination.

I've lost family to cancer so you can take your holier than thou attitude and shove it old man. Every one of you is a blight on humanity.

You have no understanding at all of what it means to be watch an important issue be hijacked by neckbeards who then act as if buying a bunch of pixels honours anyone at all in any way.

Any family that has suffered the ravages of this heinous disease would implore you to instead send that money directly to a deserving charity instead having a large part of it gobbled by PGI and whatever attached entities just so you can feel better about yourself.

Go frak yourself, as a survivor I loved it when someone went and did something over the top, when my grandmother died of cancer, we celebrated her life... this is what I hope people see it as, I spent months in some of the worst pain you can think of and so did my sister when she had her ******* removed, Take YOUR holier than thou rhetorical rig moral and frak it and the high horse you rode in on. I'll fight tooth and damn nail to see this through and it's cancers like you I relish breaking like pitiful excuses for humanity you real are.

Lets be perfectly clear. To take an idea of something like this, done in memory for a little girl, and to smear insults around it is a horrible act. If you do not like this movement, or idea, fine. To start insulting people here because their idea's and view differ from your own is beyond horrible.

I make donations regularly to disease charities. My family has regularly took part in Diabetes fund raisers, even before my own daughter was diagnosed with the disease. We make donations all the time. If I choose to make a donation via this program it should be at the very minimum ignored, but to insult it is fundamentally wrong.

I personally plane to get said Hero mech and place it in a place of honor in my mech bay. The only time it will ever be driven will be my own 5 year old daughter or 3 year old son. Just so they can experience the joy that that little girl had while driving hers.

To the idea of shooting at Sarah's Jenner seems bad. I posted this in the topic.

At first I thought the same thing. Then I realized Sarah would want you to fight for the same love she did, to blow up big stompy robots.

"Get em good" with streaks and all.

I am amazed at the power this one little girls life has had on bringing this forum community together in what has to be the best hearted topic ever read.

Thank you Sarah, for your love that spread and shined through all of us.
You "got 'em good"!

A Hero Jenner would be memorial so to speak in honor of her life and passion as a Mechwarrior, nothing more. And each time one is seen on the grid Sarah will be remembered as well as the importance of the fight against this horrible disease. Many of us do not have any experience with type of illness and won't be allowed to forget for those that do.

+1 again for a the Hero Jenner Sarah.

As a good deal of people have already said in this thread, donating directly to cancer research is a much, much better option than having an item/'Mech in the game from which's price PGI more than likely takes a good chunk out of. While the idea of having such a memorial in the game is very thoughtful, it wouldn't be the best course of action.

Instead of, for example, donating $50 directly to cancer research, you would end up giving PGI $20 for a bunch of pixels with $30 going to donations. While you'd end up with some cool swag, which option do you think would have a greater impact on people's lives? Is it alright to allow a company make profit out of such a tragedy?

Do you need to be rewarded for donating?

My dad, my brother and I hope my full Corp will buy this mech.

I lost many family members to cancer and this is a unique chance for PGI to make a difference.

Donating directly towards cancer research is brilliant. Part of the point of this, though, is a memorial for Sarah as well.

We can do both. Also, this mech would be a donation to cancer research every time someone bought it, forever.

Thank you for the civility of your post, btw. Seriously, it's good to see people can still disagree politely. Thank you a lot.

I personally feel that hero mechs are overpriced, but would be compelled to purchase and blow out up to 12000 MC specifically for this one, sight and stats unseen. Assuming the donation to cancer research idea comes into play and is at the very least equivalent to 50% of the "real money" price. Otherwise, my interest plummets rapidly.

I think that clarifies my position.

I would even be ok with it giving no ingame bonuses whatsoever and being nothing more than a ridiculously overpriced standard jenner (with a unique paintjob), because that is what she drove, a standard Jenner that anybody can buy. Not one with special hardpoints or it`s own skill tree.

I would however prefer to see it introduced as a new class of mech, a "Tribute mech", with permanently locked paint and loadout.

I feel that a proper tribute to something or someone is not supposed to be changed, or "improved", ever. For ex. (to reference guitars) the whole point of a Randy Rhoads "Concorde", Eddie Van Halen "Frankenstein", or similar model guitar is to be as prefectly identical to the original as possible. The point is to think about what you`re paying tribute to when using it.

Those that wish to pay homage but not force themselves into a playstyle they may not enjoy could maybe have the option of purchasing only the paintjob, Allowing for people to decide whether they want to pay 5 $ or 15-20-30-50 dollars for the cause.

I would kind of like to see the paintjob locked to jenners in some way, but on the other hand that kind of defeats the flexibility aspect, as not everyone wants to pilot a light but I think most would like to contribute in some way....

PS: zraven7, with all due respect I am now going to break forum etiquette and steal your signature 1:1. I usually never have signatures in forums.....

PPS: I understand those that see it as "unethical" or a "walking tombstone", and respect their opinion. But I see it as keeping her spirit alive in this game every time somebody drives one and "sacrifices" their own playstyle and identity to do so (hence the loadout and paint lock). I see it more along the lines of interacting with someone`s ghost instead of visiting their grave. B)

Thank you for an equally civil response.

Donating directly to cancer research will be a thing as well, forever. And it will always get the 'most research for your buck', too. I, personally, do not need pixels to remind me of someone's passing - do you think you would forget her without an MC item in your cockpit or in your mechbay?

If there is to be a memorial, it should be non-profitable for the company, such as a statue/shrine/etc in a map or something similar. Alternatively, 100% of the profits should go for cancer research - which I doubt will be a thing, considering that MC needs to be 'charged' in chunks, and I highly doubt that PGI/IGP would allow all of that money to slip past their fingers.
Given the way PGI seems to be doing things, I don't think that they would work in a system that calculates a specific 'Mech's MC cost, converts it into real currency, and adds it to a donation pool. And again, they would be making a profit on the side.

I still do think that a memorial for her in the game would be a good thing, as it would raise awareness. However, it has a danger of being turned into a PR thing for additional profit for the devs.

The memory of a brave young girl should not be made into corporate profit.
