Why would you change both the flight path and damage at the same time?

They aren't "changing" the flight path. The normal flight path that you see now is the same flight path you'll see tomorrow. What's changing is that the spot-assisted shots are hitting apex way too close to the target and dive-bombing. That will be fixed to be roughly the same arc as non-spot-assisted shots (where you can see the target yourself).

I think the changes are just right. The pinpoint damage has increased, while splash damage has scaled back. Remember hy pinpoint damage was decreased in the first place... The splash damage was too high when air/artillery strikes were introduced. Now you just need to improve damage on those 2 modules to make them worth running. You guys did hit a home run on the Seismic Sensor, though! What a great mechanic.

Well...... time to give up on this game if the Poptarts are back. If I wanted to play a Jump Sniper game, I'd just play one of those generic first person shooters on Xbox live. CoD, Halo, take your pick, they all have people hopping around like hyper active rabbits that have had too much coffee, and are now armed with Sniper Rifles.
Tomorrow will be the decider....

nice, they should now be a viable weapon that can be countered using terrain again.

I dunno what game everyone else was playing that thought LRMs were fine they must have been playing with low fps and usign a lrm boat themselves last 2 days.. a couple boats + a light with 360 target retention could run through the opposing team and have them LRM'd to death before they could get swatted and you think that LRMs were balanced... sheesh, the speed + damage will punish poptarts and force them into cover, they won't shoot as much allowing you to get close and now you will out brawl them at close range (3 second cooldown = 3 shots in 9 seconds, 4 second cooldown = 3 shots in 12 seconds, use terrain and get close and play the game the way its supposed to be with positioning and tactics) now brawling weapons will out brawl ppc up close and you will be able to LRM them to cover and get close..... people are so 2 dimensional ppl who say they fall to cover so cycle time does not matter... blah blah.... what are you doing staying in your spot while they keep poptarting you? close that distance and kill them for crying out loud, this is not standstill online. This is not rocket science (scuse the pun) this should be common sense to anyone that is half the general they claim to be.

Why touch the damage again, it's fine. Only the arc was the problem. Gah.

I'm not quite a rocket scientist (or a programmer) so the best way I can describe it is:
We changed the way they fly and they damage differently.

He said rocket scientist.

This made me smile.

It´s interesting how many people complain now about the fix of the LRMs. I´m sure most of those are the guys playing an Atlas with 3 LRM15 and ER-PPCs or Highlanders with 4 LRM15...
I hoped for a few more changes at the LRMs but i can live with this.

I hate Boat-builds and would love to see that people have to create good balanced builds. I think boating is crap.
I never used a boat, no PPC, no LRM and so on.
Alway tried to create a balanced build.
But when you loose against such a crap-build... thats no fun in my opinion.

Well, dear PGI, keep up the good work. Some people are not happy when they can´t complain when you fix bugs they´re using to win... I´m sure it´s hard to read just complaints so i want to tell you: Thanks for that!

I have to confess that i also complained about the changes of the ECM but i changed my build a bit and balanced it, Now its working fine again.

I think the hot-fix is much needed - and especially timely - change. Thanks for that!
Let's see the behaviour and use of LRMs in the next days. Maybe the damage can be tweaked (increased) in the next patch, should they fell out of favor again.

Erm the SPLASH damage has been reduced, not the damage per missile - that was part of the main issue with LRMageddon II. Have to say though, last night was another absolute wicked fun brawl fest now people are using AMS again. Two fantastic fights for me in my YLW last night; one in Frozen City, the other in Canyons. I think despite the RAAARRGGHH!!! of some it's definitely coming together nicely.

and now LRMS go back to the trash heap where they belong. good job

Wow...nice narcissism. People who truly care about the game want every weapon to have a role. Lemme guess...jumpsnipe poptarder, right?

The damage seemed fine, the LRM trajectories were clearly not. Why did they change the damage? Baffled.

I get where youre coming from, but rather than focusing on a balanced Mech, I like a balanced Lance. And a firesupport (boat) mech is a great addition to a balanced Lance. Why do you think there are so many Mechs armed primary with LRMs across the weight classes in Battletech? Because a balanced lance has a fire support Mech.

Tonight I was bringing 2 friends into the fight with my 4x LRM15 stalker. A Raven (non 3l) and a Heavy Metal. With the Raven spotting early, and the Highlander able to relieve the Raven of that duty with some staying power once he had position I was free to support my team as is only tactical. The Highlander called out the targets, kept him lit for me, and was rewarded with supporting fire. It would not have worked as well if my stalker were more balanced instead of built to balance the team.

Dear CrazyJuan,

of course you´re right speaking about a balanced lance.
In our unit we still handle it this way.
But since the patch there was no balanced lance or build. We dropped with a well mixed unit but we´re facing a lot of LRM-boats at the new Canyon map. There were about 6 or 7 Boats, inculding Stalkers and a few Atlas. We tried to move through the canyons and hide but because of the new flightpath the missilies nearly ever hit us and of course we had AMS but it helped us not really.
Because of the dive-bombing we lost 1 to 8.

Our enemy was not balanced, they just had LRM-Boats...
Of course these things need to be fixed.
