The Black Mamba was fun, but somehow Heavy Gear was too 'round' for my taste... can I say to Japanese? ^^

I like the Black Mamba. And the Cobras, King Cobra, Spitting Cobra.

^ Pretty much this, played through both as "mech fixes". Front: Mission evolved was a more recent one. They are good in their place but they aren't Mechwarrior, too fast and bubbly for walking tank deathdealers.

Ofc if you could get someone to revive sierra's Earthsiege series, i might get excited. Personally threw in with Star Citizen as my backup if MWO falls over

I loved HG2 and I think I will love this. I will crunch numbers to see, how much I can afford do pledge and then I will gladly send my shinies to these guys :)

And It's worth to fund even if you don't like it. MWO will finally have some competition. And competition is good, because PGI will have to fight for hearts of us mech lovers.

But that 800k goal seems a little unrealistic. Maybe they should have started a bit lower with some multiplayer only stretch goal.

This looks really awesome!! I'll definitly send them some of my money.

MWO just keeps disappointing me... My hopes now lie with Heavy Gear Assault!

In my case, I would not call it a dissapointment. I am a giant robot junkie - I must have them all - Hawken, MWO and HG :)

Thought I should drop by and let you folks know that the Kickstarter for Heavy Gear Assault has been shut down. This does NOT mean we have stopped production and we are continuing to take donations at Heavy Gear.com. While it is sad that the Kickstarter didn't work we certainly learned a lot doing it and we are investigating other funding options at this time, so while we may be down, we are far from out.

The full message from Vince about the shutdown:

Quote

@Everyone: Thank you for your dedicated support. We appreciate and highly value everyone's opinions here which is why we have decided to cancel this KS campaign and continue crowd funding on heavygear.com. We believe very strongly in resurrecting the Heavy Gear franchise and giving the fans what they want. We are currently evaluating other strategies to raise awareness regarding Heavy Gear and looking at multiple means to get the Heavy Gear name out there. Thank you for your support everyone and stay tuned.

The failure of the kickstarter was pretty harsh, but they're planning on making a comeback. They're working on a more comprehensive demo right now, and the project is far from dead. I pledged for Northern ace yesterday! People need to get behind this, because this game is going to be ten kinds of awesome!

I remember playing Heavy Gear 1 and 2. When the game starts, I'm going to join the Northern faction because of my memories of the Heavy Gear 1 campaign and Duelist Edward Scott.

Ah, the memories.
