hi,

my avira screams like hell when i try to access the patch notes, message i get is HTML/Framer.DO.229 HTML script virus detected. dont know if thats a problem of the virus scanner (avira is quite accurate normally, never had such a case by now - using it for about 12 years) or if there´s a problem with one of your scritps. i also have to click away warning after warning whenever i get a mail from the game´s mail adress using thunderbird.

maybe you should take a look at this, i doubt that mwo tries to break into my computer but its the first time i ever get this warning from a page that doesnt try to sell blue pills :D

cheers,

durutti

My Avast is silent here and here.

Which one of those two patch notes did you mean?

oh and this is the full description i get :

HTML/Framer.DO.229 HTML script virus

Method of propagation:
• No own spreading routine

Platforms / OS:
• Windows 2000
• Windows XP
• Windows 2003
• Windows Vista
• Windows Server 2008
• Windows 7

Side effects:
• Redirects to an infected website

it seems it doesnt like the redirect or you´ve got one page in there which is at least damned close to a "dangerous script" - which doesnt mean its really infected, only that it´s trying to do "uncommon" stuff, which isnt good too

this is the link i tried to open, thunderbird threw out 2 warnings already, avira doesnt even let me access it.could also be that its only a badly written redirect or a broken link, dont know....i´m into server stuff, not html and those weird things :D

the 2 you linked are fine for me, no problem at all. the link in the mail on the patch was the one that made the alarmbell ring

edit, the 10th : and no addons, handwritten stuff or anything changed on both the thunderbird and the avira. just the common installation. so i guess when you´d get a workstation and install it you should be able to track the error quite easily. all i did was clicking the "the full patch notes are available here"

and one more :

this is the link it leads to

www.- http.com//mwomercs.com/forums/topic/118563-patch-notes-12223-21052013/

this the warning the standard firefox throws out :

XML Parsing Error: unexpected parser state
Location: jar:file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/omni.ja!/chrome/toolkit/content/global/netError.xhtml
Line Number 308, Column 50: <div id="ed_netReset">&netReset.longDesc;</div>

I guess the warning comes from the invalid link.

So far it looks, like your AV is responding to the invalid link. Recognizing it as an attempt to provoke a programm exception, to create a security hole.

It should be harmless.

harmless yes but its nontheless a warning and an invalid link. and until now i had a lot of warnings, mainly when trying to open mails the insider sent (from thunderbird) and had to click away stuff so i could finally see the stuff inside. it´s not really making a good impression when you access patch notes and your virus scanner screams fire nor does it help to raise confidence :D

but i guess you´ll fix it

good luck
