This challenge has ruined the gameplay. Instead of playing normally, everyone is blitzing to cap points and completely ignoring the enemies.

Fundamentally the problem is that the gameplay modes are irritatingly broken (i.e. no harder to cap out your enemies when they are all alive than when they are mostly dead); but the challenge has massively exacerbated this issue.

It's no longer just "annoying", it's flatly ruining the game -- getting into a good fight is nearly impossible.

Well my game was ruined from another side. Most enemies was jumpsnipers/snipers/LRM boats just guarding the base mostly STK,HGN or AS7.No brawl at all.It was pain in the *** to drop against this in Jenners I am XPing up now.

Best match was today where we had 4xLight 3xMed and 1xAWS vs 2xHGN 2xAS7 and 1xSTK.their lightest mech was BJ...how is that fair?Matchmaking there sux for sure but now when every1 guard base it is even worse for light mechs...

Right?! I think the only thing that drives me over the edge more than capwarrior is having lights on your side that aren't doing anything about it.

See Zerberus, my point exactly... its maybe 2 hours a day X 3 days its too easy .... and yes I have a full life as well.... if you know how to play like a team there is no issue.... cap and your done and move on enough of these morons that have to run up the middle like Custer ( he died ) just play and get the win

Dude, what exactly are you trying to say to me here? That I`m a ******* noob and need to L2P? Becasue that`s what I`m reading, some guy not having a clue what I do for a living (or that I drop as an organized 4 man group) seeing it as a chance to wave his e-peen around. Sorry if that`s not the case, but that`s how it comes across due to the complete disconect between the quote and your statement....

I never said it was too hard (or too easy), nor did I say nor imply that it`s PGI`S fault that I take my work very seriously because people can get killed literally by the dozens when I don`t. Welding rollercoaster sections is not selling cheeseburgers....

TLDR: If you`re going to quote me to "support" something you´re saying, it would be to your benefit to actually reference something I said and not an imaginary argument I never presented, pro OR con. It helps avoid unnecessary misunderstandings like this one. :(

Same thing, mate. I wrote this already, but why not have these on weekends? Really, these are freebies anyway, why so greedy, PGI?

How is it greedy to put up a 3-day challenge and give away a free item?

Had I known it was goind to run until 6:00 PM UTC (I am CET, meaning 18:00 here correlates to 17:00 UTC /GMT, and it is now 19:00 CET = 18:00 UTC /GMT), I would have played the half hour I would have needed instead of cooking.... I do in fact feel more than just a bit cheated out of the prize right now.... I feel like understanding Int`l timezones and being able to use a watch was "used against me", and am not at all happy about it... :D

hrhr, about the same here. Getting that case of beer could´ve waited for another hour and i too feel clock-cheated :(

Seriously, do people not know how to read time and timezones?

Or better yet, haven't you noticed that PGI's deadlines almost always end at 10:00 PDT?!?

If you're gonna QQ, at least QQ about something that isn't your own damned fault! :(

I didn't see the challenge until the 29th, and still had it finished by the following day. Figure 10 minutes per drop, 50/50 chance to win, that's 50 drops @ 10 minutes each = 500 minutes or 8 hours and 20 minutes of play time required to complete a challenge that was posted for 70 hours.

It ran to when tehy originally said it would, 10 PST, yes.

But the newer banners ingame said 5:00PM UTC, which is 9:00 PST AFAIK, because it is 18:00 here and I am 9 hours ahead of PST, on CET.

Having been at work all week, I did not see it necessaary to come to the forum first to waste a precious half hour to find out which of the 2 times was in fact the correct one.

All of my clocks are radio controlled, and I actually have a GMT clock on my wall, just because I can.

*Edit* After research, I actually take everything back...... It actually was likely a DST issue as voidangel suggested, which I is factored into GMT but NOT UTC... Interestingly enough, DST is not currently active on GMT, yet my London clock is correct....so I am not entirely sure where the disconnect lies between my clocks and Real world time (I thoretically should be an hour early for work every day...)..... In other words for a reason I cannot explain, CET is currently 2 hours ahead of UTC instead of the 1 hour ist should be....*scratches head*

Lesson learned: screw what the clocks say, play till the server goes down.

Stuff like that are the reason I grinded the challenge the last three days. You won't be forced to win at all cost the last day/the last hours and won't have to deal with overloaded/crashing servers because everyone wants to earn their reward at the last moment. It also prevents the time zone mess where the challenge might actually end before you thought it would. It's just easier to play and more fun if you're not putting yourself under such pressure.

I have to say that most teams tended to focus on capping the last days but on the other hands I welcome the short term change of strategy as most of the time the matches end in a big brawl where everyone is more focused on getting extra kills/damage/Creds than going for the cap when the situation starts to get downhill.

Oh i tried last two nights aswell, but the matchmaker started throwing loss-streaks at me, more terrible than the kind known from WoT *uglyface*

I´ve learned too late playing from europe is better done in the daylight hours.

No I don't cap normally I was stating for the challenge in all the games that i played that was the strategy so that the team would get the win and move to the next match....Im all for banging and gettin dirty ......nothing makes me more happy then when i have a light tryin to take me down and just a couple of PPC's followed by a laser blast to the head and problem solved.... lol

Yeah the capping drove me crazy that was the bulk of our loses. I refuse to cater to that style of play unless were near by. A cap late in the battle is fine but those ones that are done when one or none are taken out of the game drives me nuts.

Well, 22 of 25, i really had to work (more important to me than MW:O). So no sad face, i earned more than a crappy logo.

Still, there could have been a more appealing timeframe to make this happen.
