Lrm's Seem Too Powerful

Oh I agree. I have no problem with players being able to mass LRM barrages onto a single target via a spotter. I'm just trying to explain why some people say they are getting slaughtered by LRMs, and other people say they are laughing at LRMs. People have different experiences because of this factor.

The other day I was crippled in about 2 LRM salvos when an enemy Hunchback and I clashed head-on. I should've known better than to fight him but what the heck, it's only a game and it looked like it would be fun. Then LRM salvos started coming in, and I realized I was too far from cover. By the time I was able to get behind something tall I was almost dead and not much use to my team anymore.

And then on the flip-side of that, I charged an enemy Catapult who had 2 LRM15's, soaked up 3 salvos, and then managed to get under his minimum range and beat him.

So I can easily see why some people say LRMs are overpowered, and others say LRMs are trash.

Me I think LRMs are still underpowered. Almost anything en-mass will feel overpowered when you're being focus fired by a shitload of them.

LRM 15 fires 15 missiles at .9 damage per missile and has a cost of 7 tons + 1 ton for artemis + min 1 ton of ammo total 9 tons 5 criticals.This weapon under the most ideal of conditions (Stationary target standing in the open and allowing the volley to hit them) will do 13 damage spread across several locations.

Due to the above being forced to LOS your own targets and those targets are 3X PPC 1X Gauss rifle alpha strike spammers that put 2 salvos into you before your one has landed.

Now think to yourself why am I not using a PPC instead and then go do that.

1. LRMs overpowered
2. Mediums have more survivability than assaults
leads to
3. Playing a different game than the rest of you all

Well, at least i had a laugh today...

Just remove splash damage and buff damage. Don't really know why hasnt been implemented.

And while we're here, buff srms back 2.5 per missile, as they're a complete joke at the moment.

People need to seriously think about what they're saying when they keep talking about removing splash damage.

I can't be the only one who doesn't want a LRLBX5,10,15,20 that requires Artemis as a standard, and who doesn't want a 270 meter lightweight snub-nose LBX (that also requires artemis).

After running some matches with LRM heavy builds over the past 2 days I have to agree that LRMs behave strangely.
I've had a Highlander getting cored with ~180-190 missiles (fired from 3 LRM10+Artemis in chainfire, no TAG) and a Hunchback only going from undamaged to orange torso armor with ~255-270 missiles (fired from 2 LRM15+Artemis with TAG).
Highlander was slowly moving, Hunchback was moving half of the time and stationary or shutdown the rest of the time.
On both mechs every volley fired hit the target, no obstacles in between,

I've also had matches where I only fired LRMs and no other weapons and dealt around 100 damage with ~700 missiles fired.
And I'm not one to fire LRMs at a target I can't hit.

It seems like there are problems with hit registration and damage registration. Probably because the speed was increased and the splash removed.

Well, looks like we're still not there yet.
