Constant crashes to mechlab, regular CTD's after matches end, poor hit detection, having to use a vpn because canadian servers are canadian. Would anyone deal with this crap (for months and months) if it wasn't the mechwarrior IP? Fk it took them like 7 months to solve the mystery of the disappearing hud.

Me thinks crytek wasn't a good choice.

They have already located and adjusted some items with Cryengine. On the other hand the difference between how your system connects to the servers changes when using a VPN. It is either bypassing a bad/congested router center or bypassing something your ISP is trying to throttle, which affects your connection/packet issues.

The other thing you can do, and probably will be hit and miss, is completely uninstall and reinstall the game.

I've had issues in the past with the game crashing constantly after an update, and this has always fixed it for me, but obviously your mileage will vary based on yadda yadda yadda.

----------------------Edit
I tried to put "It's --- Hit and miss", but I guess it's too close to a derogatory comment, because it sensored half the sentence >.> that's what I call quality control : P

I give up, this game is unplayable. I have literally crashed 8 out of 11 games tonight. I want my 200 bucks back.

For testing purposes, have you utilized VPN approach?

Location and ISP?

Wired or Wireless?

Have you disconnected the wiring and reconnected everything between the line coming in to the modem, the router then to the computer?

Are you using a router + modem or a gateway (combo)? Brand and models.

Try this

The correct answer to this problem is as follows:
1. You must go into your router.
2. Enter the setup section.
3. Select MAC address.
4. Select user defined.
5. Change a few numbers and letters in the MAC address.
6. Save settings and reboot your computer and reset your MODEM.

In security software/firewall, provide MWO unlimited access.

Wired modem
Comcast. Have tried 2 different modems.
Currently using a dlink 655 router.
The problem happens some days but not others, which leads me to believe there is something going on outside of my control. Some days I can play without issue, then the next I'll crash every single game. Like tonight. If it was an issue with my equipment, it would happen every time, not just some days. There is clearly an issue with their ability to deal with bad packets due to ****** network equipment outside of my house.

I have not completed a single game tonight. I want my money back. You can call this ******** a beta all you want, but when I have spent more money on this game than release games that are actually playable, I feel that this is unacceptable.

What is the brand and model of the modem? How is it connected to the Comcast network, wired or wireless? And have you connected directly to it instead of the router?

As for the router itself, does it have the latest firmware?

Once again I ask, what does my equipment matter. If it was my equipment, it would happen every single night. Not, just 1-3 nights a week. There is obviously an issue outside of my equipment. There are other people other than myself having the same issue because their servers can't handle bad packets.

Crashing to desktop is more PC hardware related rather than router firmware. If he/she was crashing to mechlab that would be a completely different issue. Crashing to desktop...I would have questions about his/her computer.

@veedubfreak

I don't want to sound mean but you shouldn't give 200 bucks to a game before testing how it plays (especially if it is Beta). Unfortunately I cannot help you at all since I am no tech guy but since MC don't expire, you can wait for them to fix it. Every second Tuesday they patch the game. You can also wait till launch (late Summer I believe, could be mistaken) since by then they will have (hopefully) fixed all major bugs. I know all I am basicly saying is "wait" but I cannot offer any better advice.
Good luck.

I crash way too much.

Once this game isn't "Beta", and I don't crash every single day while playing, then you can have some money.

/shrugs.

Crashing to desktop, where the game closes down can be due to network connection. That is based on he post concerning bad packets. Of course, I should have asked if he had opened up the log file and if that was the information being recorded. Tis not like he started his own thread or not.

Outside connections, heat, wireless/interference, modem/router not secured, wireless connection open to the public, directions on how to ensure the above has been taken care of, lots of things.

Do what you think you need to do but also say goodbye to your account. Charge backs do not come without a price, providing your bank/cc will do it.

I will end my assistance here.

Sayonara!!!
