The culture of the clans is very intense and real, just like all the history in the MW/BT universe

How about this side kills that side while that side kills this side and Clan Black Sheep sits on the sidelines laughing and drinking? Unless that side happens to be ComStain err CumStar eehh ComStar then we break out our Mechs and make them look silly. Dont forget not all the Clanners are chest beating Vlads, granted most of them are but there are US laid back contraction using Clanners (who make the CornDog ones realllllyy mad cause we wont play their silly little my poopy stinks more than yours does games).

I think I like this poll option better:

To misquote Yosemite Sam (and by extension Teddy Roosevelt):"Clans are those who speak loudly, and carry an even bigger stick!"

None of the above!

Politics and ideology matter little. Everyone who claims a house or a clan has only thier own goals in mind regardless of how you word them. It's the nature of our race. I begrudge noone for believing in the cause that they choose or were born into. I'm in it for the challenge of the fight and the credits I can make in the pursuit of that goal! Everyone in the cockpit of a mech is a warrior and I will respect them as an opponent. I will slag your machine if I can and I expect you to try to do the same to me!

Happy Hunting!

I played lots of games in the last 10 to 11 years. Mechwarrior was my first game and true love. Next I tried Ground Control and I'm a huge fan of the three major factions invented in that game: The Pax Dei (peace of god), the Vox Dei (voice of god) and my all time favorite Manus Dei (the hand of god).

This game would be really interesting to have a religious based clan attempting to purfy the earth of the unbelievers. LOL I will bring the full force of my weapons down upon thee etc etc. Although, a lot of gamers are just not into the religious zealot thing anymore with the Al Qaeda and suicide bombers taking center stage the last decade. It reminds me of Disco where everyone hates it but those that still listen to it dare not reveal that fact for fear of being scorned for their beliefs.

You Clanners talk a big game, but you just need to ask the Smoke Jaguars what happens when it's down to brass tacks.

Oh wait, you can't. ;)

And that's why it was the wheat before the scythe when it came to the Wolves, but we wanted to protect you, so, in a way, we saved your *****.

That's nice, but call me when you dominate a nation more impressive than the Free Rasalhague Republic.

Too easy.

Clan Wolf becomes the Wolf Empire after they take a large part of the Lyran Commonwealth.

Picking on the infamously militarily incompetent Lyrans after they got thumped hard in two massive wars isn't much more impressive. I mean, on one hand, they should've known what to expect, but on the other - Lyrans.

Scavenging behavior is, I suppose, within the character of the Wolves' totem animal.

Speaking as a diehard IS fighter, I believe the clans are, for the most part, honorable warriors. But that's all they are, warriors. I'd meet a Clanner in battle any day, and do my best to learn and respect their customs as I did so, but I doubt that they'd ever reform the Star League and fulfill Kerensky's vision. At least, not in their current state.

So, I respect the honor of the Clans, and I don't see them as evil, but they sure as hell aren't the good guys some of their Khans think they are, either. Sounds fair enough for a Spheroid, quiaff?
