In the german Community Paxmortis (36th Dieron Regulars) is organizing a tournament based on 3025 stock mechs. I sent the attached email to the support as an information for the developers and I was asked to post it in the suggestions forum. So here I am, and here is my email.

]Dear Developers, PGI and IGP!

The german MWO community is organizing a private tournament in which only dedicated mechs in stock loadout are permitted.Concerning more information on the event organized by paxmortis please see the post:

http://mwomercs.com/...sic-tournament/

In short the german community agreed on a list of "legal" mechs, with specific loadout, Every team is allowed 450t and every chassis-variant is only allowed once.
I just wanted to let you know, that a lot of people are playing 8vs8 more enthusiastically with these self made restrictions. At the moment 14 Teams ranging from 12 to 70 Players per team take part in the tournament, in total more than 300 participating players. These gamers are really fascinated by this game mode. The number of players interested in playing MWO this way is steadily growing. This gets very obvious when you follow the above stated post. Also if you check the activity in the 8vs8 queues during the scheduled trainings for sync-drops of 3025 teams you should see an increase in activity.
The tournament starts soon and of course will end when a winner is determined, but the german community agreed to have a 3025 Thursday after the tournaments ends, just because it is so much more fun to play this. It feels different from the PPC/laser loaded, optimized builds. We find it feels much more like battletech.
I hope this input helps you to keep a very critic eye in the development of the game. I do not expect you to just cancel every 3050 tech it is also fun to play. But there are many problems with the great variety you allow in customizing of the mechs. I think 3050 should feel a bit more like our 3025 games. Also an optional queue for PUG and 8vs8 matches with "stock only" would be a nice idea. Perhaps you are interested to join in some stock mech matches to get the feeling for yourself.
I am big fan of your game, thanks for the work and I hope you are interested in our new experience with playing 3025 tech.
With best regards

DrRip

P.S. Please note this email is my private opinion and not the opinion of the german community.

What is with the year 3050? This suggestions is based on the feeling of the game. Using 3025 tech stock mechs an atlas is an atlas. It is slow, takes huge amounts of damage and can be described as a tank. Medium Mechs are allrounders, heavies are damage dealers.

The games take longer. There is a greater tactical and stategical component. Capping plays totally different.

What I suggest is that part of this totally different game should be found in 3050... So I basically don't get the idea behind your comment.

best regards

Rip

P.S. We should keep conversation in english so everbody can follow.

mb u can join ask paxmortis if you can still enter even thou the
timelimit is over

http://mwomercs.com/...sic-tournament/
adaptet google translation:

Valued player base, the 36th Regular Dieron would like to host a 3025 tournament in cooperation with you.

As is already known to us by several discussions with other chapters, there is interest in a 3025 Stockmech tournament.

Here of course we are looking for another chapter wishing to participate, as well as to organize with.

That would be some of the key data. Needless to say, we want to talk to you about it before and before refining the tourney.

I would like to ask you to leave a small post here if your taking part, with organizing / planning and especially how your want to find the idea.

Fundamentally would be also a date in TeamSpeak sense. The 36th Dieron Regulars TeamSpeak is free available. The data can be gotten from me.

As already mentioned but this should be a date. I would suggest here to 15.05.2013 by 20 clock. If necessary, we can also make two appointments for the preliminary.Rules (as of
22.05.2013)

These guidelines were agreed by all present units on 15.05.2013. In any case, in most respects, the referee some points the "privilege" taken out while writing the book was not released.

Furthermore, it was quickly convened during a TS session on 21.05.2013. Were present at 80% of the chapter participating until now the start of the tournament moved to one weeks nachhinten.

An objection to this rulebook is possible to Sunday 26/05/2013.

Refereed in regulation and sequence questions was chosen by the parties paxmortis.

Is played in all the battles of the 8-Conquest mode.

The maximum tonnage of a team is 450 tons.

Maximum 2 Assaultmechs may be invoked per team.

A team consists of at least 8 players + 4 reserve players. The number of reserve player is open upward. But every player must be a member of a team.

Allowed are Mechtyps that are listed on the attached list below, in exactly the same assembly. Subsequent mechs are nachgepflegt. Participants will be informed about this change. http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__2343933

Allows a 'Mech is the same variant per team. So each team is allowed e.g. have only a Jenner-F or a Catapult K2 team.

The deadline for teams is the 29.05.2013. In the team registration at least 8 players + all the reserve players must be named. This notification must be made by PM to paxmortis.

If a disconnect occurs during a game when the game starts, the opponent has to take a group Mech exactly the same weight from the game. This can also be done by disconnect or shutdown outside the Capzone. Should this not be possible removed from the game the next heavier 'Mech of the same or if not possible lower weight class.

The tournament will be from 03.06 - 16.06 played in a group stage. This occurs once each pairing against each other and playing 3 games. Winner is going to most games won. It victories by killing all the enemies as well Capwins scored equally. Case of a tie between the teams decide the direct comparison.

Should Games not come into existence despite three game pairing arrangement. The game is for the active unit interpreted as a victory. A not come into being a pairing is to report paxmortis already at the first time. So that the sequence is tracked accordingly.

From 17.06 to 23.06 the K.O phase begins. Here again are completed in three games per pairing. As also does win in the group stage, the team with the most wins. Should unforeseen events by a team is not possible, as agreed to take up the game in time. Thus, the referee must be informed two hours before. If nor adverse circumstances through the group stage expand as "may" extend the umpire in an Associate function of teams still involved in the knockout phase.

All points not listed that may have forgotten even the referee. Can be filed up to 26.05.2013 for discussion and voting. It is the the referee has in this Regelwerkgeschreibsel a point already agreed unwittingly forgotten.

Otherwise, the rules classified under thirteen point all the involved teams of fun and wish you success.

I think it is the opinion of the most mates in the german community. Finally it is my opinion, too.

The 3025 tournament brings the player, as you said, another selfmade game mode that play totally different. It would be wonderful when PGI can implement a 3025 stock mech game mode.

I think the german mates will continue in this way with the 3025 battles as an additional game mode.

If support has requested to post this in the suggestion area, why was it moved by staff to the player vs. player area?
Just askin.

I moved it, because it doesn't read like a suggestion. It's actually taking place, organized by some of our german community members.

Support will not always give you the correct forum to post to. They are not as used to its structure as the moderators are. :)

Very kind good sir.
Now, everyone in here and not german - this is what bureaucracy is all about - you can tell an official what you intended, that official aknowledges the intend and THAN gives you the proper documents to be filled out and signed (triplet of course ^^).
just kidding.
I give the good news to my fellow pilot.

At the moment there are "only" 14 teams in the tourney but registered 312 players ;)
Many unit have more as the minimum 12 players because they cannot say that everyday, everyone can play.

I hope DrRip can change his starting post so it sounds more like a suggestion based on the feedback during the tourney.
