If you marked "Getting the Founders pack" in the beta questions you won't get into the beta until July. Why would they need to invite you sooner? They know you'll buy it to get in. Anyone else think this besides me?

. . . because we get $80/40 dollars worth of CBills for $60/30, a limited edition CBill earning mech, and a founders tag in the forums/in game?

I am sure very few were buying the founders packs to get in open beta a couple weeks early.

Interesting theory, but then again, it could be that they were interested in seeing how many people they will be having to include in future beta events. The Founders pack goes on sale the 19th, so there could still possibly be time in late June...

It is also one of the reasons that I'm not too disappointed that I haven't received an invite yet.

Well my buying founders was contingent on me not hating the beta. I don't know if I'm going to hate it if I don't get in. Probably going to go pure f2p if I don't get in the beta.

I will be getting it if I feel satisfied with the game's quality. I ran out of hopes and dreams to cloud my vision a long time ago

I just want my jenner with permanent xp/cbill boost, $80 in game currency, and guaranteed game access date.

It's more the mech with the perm features more than anything I want.

I thought this too, but why not just do a poll? I'm not too worried about it but when I checked the box I kinda thought to myself, "What does this have to do with the BETA?"

I don't believe one has anything to do with the other.

I have a RL friend, we talked about the game when the Founder's packs were first mentioned. We both decided we were each getting the $60 Founders pack, and I watched him fill out his questionair. Two days later he got into the beta and I am still "Pending".

I only know he got in because happend to visit him the next weekend and he was in the middle of a match when I got there.

Personally, I was confused by that question and marked "No" since I didn't know what a founder's pack was. I mean, how can I mark "Yes" if I don't know what it is. It would have been nice if, by that question, was a link to the "Founder's Pack" offer page.

Sadly, I knew that anything with "purchase" in it might increase my odds if I said "yes" but... I just kinda thought that was a bit of a tacky questions. I mean, does it really increase your odds if I answered yes? And if so, what keeps me from not following through? I don't know. I'm just trying to keep it honest.

[Sidenote: Could someone could PM me the link of the founder's pack offer, I'd like to see it. Might actually be interested.]

[EDIT!- Both Lomack and Tyra hooked me up with the links. Thanks, Mates]

You're making my brain hurt with all this logic. We're all suckers, they know that. I'd be willing to bet that even the current beta tester already playing will still purchase the Founders Pack, if not for anything else than the discount on the C-Bills....

I think you must have a really low opinion of the developers and not understand the point of a beta. A beta this early isn't generally about getting people interested as you seem to be implying, but it's about...beta testing.

Weather someone is going to pay to play the game or not doesn't change about people testing it.

What your suggesting could also go the opposite and people could burn out early on the game, where as if they played when everyone else was when the game came out, they would feel like they HAD to buy stuff to keep up with everyone.

It's a moot question really.

I have high hopes for the company so i trust them.

not buying the founders pack for the beta. Buying it because it seems to be a good deal. Can't under estimate
the value of a money making mech.

I do not have a low opinion of the dev's but why ask the question.... I was getting it regardless, but why ask that in the beta questionnaire?

Sorry to burst any bubbles, but the question was probably asked to guage the profitability of the game once it does drop, how many of us are hard corps mech heads that are going to spend no matter what basically. All but a very few will have marked yes to buying it for one of two reasons. Like me they are a mech head and want the perks offered by the package or they thought it would get them in to the beta. I am guessing most of us on the forums in the first place are likely Mech heads of one sort or another. Also guessing that most of us will be dropping cash on the game cept maybe the lil fellas that will end up coming across the game and dont have jobs yet. Battle Tech tends to attract the individualists (think about it, how often you see identical TT armies same mechs or paint even if both players may have had the same units or houses?) I know i am getting the package rikki tik. I want my Cataphract to be running her unique colours and patterns if at all possible, Tranquil Typhoon wont look right with out her Dao wielding fist on her whole front end.

for the reason they ask what other games you play and such, it's statistical analysis. It will be put into a chart and either now or some time down the road someone in a office will put at a chart with numbers that says "people who say no and also do A & B are more likely to do/not do, option C".

Or maybe they are just curious to see how many people plan on it? If no one is interested they might then put out a questionare asking what would make people.

It's a interest check. I just find it weird that you automatically assume a paranoid conspiracy theory with it.

I don't think anything needs to get caustic over this. It is an interesting question on "why" that particular question was posed. Perhaps they were generally interested in a rounded number on interested parties. However, I found it a bit questionable that it was posed in the context that it was. Easy to misunderstand. Personally, I do have faith in this team and company and have high hopes in-regards to their F2P model. They've hit all the right points with it so far, when describing it to us.

[edit - meant to include clay pidgeon's quote too. Guess I needed to hit multi-quote].

In addition it does not hurt to be able to pay the guys building the game a pay check for their efforts, If for nothing else than to keep them in Pizza so they will keep coding... Just my 2 C-Bills...

I'm paying out becaus 1: I want to support the devs for this amazing game, 2: Because I want the permament increases to my earnings, and 3: Because **** me if I don't love the colour scheme and modded Catapult/Atlas.

And if I have to pay to get into Beta, then so be it. I ran outta hope a long time ago, There's a very good chance I won't be picked before the 19th July anyway, if I get in before, then I'll get some practice before I get my founders.
