I'm fairly certain most people were intent on buying these packs before the beta keys even started going out. I'm sure any company wants to know how much they'll be making.

I don't believe one has anything to do with the other.

I have a RL friend, we talked about the game when the Founder's packs were first mentioned. We both decided we were each getting the $60 Founders pack, and I watched him fill out his questionair. Two days later he got into the beta and I am still "Pending".

I only know he got in because happend to visit him the next weekend and he was in the middle of a match when I got there.

Indeed. I also would not text or otherwise communicate with my friend if i got into the beta. I'm pretty sure I'd forget to eat, as well.

I never got the option to check this, was it because I signed up before they announced inception? Also, I would mark "yes.". I honestly couldn't care less about beta access beforehand, as long as the NDA is lifted and people start recording/streaming so I can get a fix and do actual research about my potential founders mechs. Thing is, I don't want any of the 4 listed mechs. Im going to get one, yes, but it may simply be the atlas because it's the most expensive. I don't think I'll like light mechs, and think of the mechs we've seen I like the centurion best from TT experience.

That being said, I may use a hunchie if swayback is an option. Catapult would need the k2 capability. I'd rarely pilot the cata or the atlas, and the Jenner is not my speed, it's much faster:). Though a jump jet using medium sure would work for me, or a cataphract.

*edited because my phone autocorrected NDA with NSA

They don't have to invite us sooner. There is no way for them to determine who is the better BETA TESTER. Your question isn't supporting in the way:'Ow, give me a key so I can help getting glitches and problems to your attention'. You question is towards getting payed people in faster than the rest. We will get that on July 17... so we have to wait for the lottery pick.

If we get picked faster because of a poll like this then people will go:'You see, it WILL be Pay2win. Personally I want to get in to test specific things (e.g. jump jets), extra play time will be fun as well -not denying it. There is a guy on this forum who transformed a room into a Battlemech cockpit, in my opinion: give HIM the BETA now for he really has not said that he will pay for it but the sheer effort that went into his work is amazing!

For me the most important thing is to know wether my founder package will be good for EU servers.

If you marked "Getting the Founders pack" in the beta questions you won't get into the beta until July. Why would they need to invite you sooner? They know you'll buy it to get in. Anyone else think this besides me?

No worries. This is not the case.

They did it to gauge interest in the founders pack and from that are able to use those numbers to see how much money they can make (and thus give them a gauge of interest and early viablility of the game) plain and simple.

If its a random poll a massive amount of people regestered wont answer the question. if they include it in the beta questions a massive amount of people WILL answer the question. It gives the devs a good idea about how many people they can expect to actually buy the pack. I bet they figured a certan percent will answer yes just because they think thats the correct answer and adjust accordingly and such.

I signed up, but I wont be buying anything. hope that dont hurt my chances. also, you think they will only be letting people with good computers in, or will they take some high end people, some crappy computers, and some decent ones to see how the game handles? It asked you for your system specs, and I put mine in

Makes no sense, hope your threats work for you.

No threat on my part. Sixty dollars is more than I've ever spent on a game before. I'm not going to pay it blindly.

I want my custom Atlas with lifetime earnings boost. What's so hard to understand about that?

Based on my WoT experience even if I don't play it much later, it will still be a nice trophy to have and break out once in a while. . . once the founder population thins out..

Your premise is flawed about the getting into beta date (since they're talking early access to the actual servers). . . but even if it wasn't. . . once you get a little older you'll get some more perspective on these things. A month sooner, a month later. . . meh, it will get here. That's not why I'm buying the founders pack.

The young have no patience. LOL

I spent twice that much on mid-week dinner and drinks with my wife last night. . . because I like it when she gets tipsy and is wearing one of her super-sexy tops. ;) Certainly not going to hesitate to spend it to get something cool in a game I might potentially play for hours and hours.

Here's a bonus pic of my wife just as we're getting ready to go out. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Must be nice to have a theory that would be disproven by a single case, but never will be, thanks to the NDA . . .

Yeah, I don't put a lot of stock in conspiracy theories. They're overwhelmingly hokum.

I feel like they asked the question so they could pick out an equal number of people who are 'hardcore' and people who are casual.

People who are looking to get ahead of the competition, and therefore hardcore gamers will probably look to buy the pack, whereas people who are casual are just playing to have fun and may or may not get the pack.

I plan to get the pack, mostly because I want that one of a kind skin for a founder Cat, but also because I don't want to spend a lot after I own the game, so the $80 should last me for a few months I think.

And its like faceless priest said, I do not think they are using closed beta to get people interested.. especially with the low number of people participating, its probably the company doing exactly what they say: Beta testing.

I marked yes even though I am a mabey. I want to buy it, but I won't actually plunk down money til I see what the game is like. I am assuming it will be good and will end up buying it. But as much as I am ssuming it will be good, I will wait till I know before forking over cash.

I just hope they will still take cash after either the open beta or launch. Otherwise I will find myself a bit put out and probably will just go the MWT route out of spite lol.

No. I don't think saying I am buying the Founders Pack will exclude me from the Betas.

Funny video on trolling... enjoy.

I agree about the mech and lifetime earnings boost...hehehe. Whether we get into beta now or in July will not matter - because it will happen.

BUT...

I will be buying a founders pack, because I want to be a part of the resurrection of Mechwarrior. I want the devs to listen to my input...because there *might* be that one bug or improvement I report or suggest that contributes to the game that they will agree on and implement. If someone else in the beta finds the same bug before me and reports it, fantastic - then we are doing our jobs as beta testers.

I have played mechwarrior a long time - whether it was the pencil and paper game or the computer games (again exception to Mechwarrior Assault eww). I even beta tested MW3. I feel I have something to contribute. The founders package will allow me to help out and have fun at the same time. I will pay the price for it (it won't matter to me, I will be paying player anyhow  .) The extras in the package like the founders mech decals and such are recognition and are their way of saying thanks for our efforts.

I clicked no because I didn't know what it was at the time after not logging in for a few months. Now that I know what it is I'll be getting it, I like me some bonus content
