For those that may have forgotten Sarah's mech is a Jenner,

We would like to give our deepest condolences to the family of one of our youngest MechWarriors, Sarah Marie Alida Parries. She was just 5 years old when she passed from inoperable brain cancer last week in Vancouver, Canada.
Sarah's favourite Mech chassis was the Jenner with streak SRMs, because she liked to lock on. She loved speeding around with nightvision and lots of medium lasers so she could, "get 'em good!" blazing through the Inner Sphere with her father Jon. Sarah was an excellent sport and shared her dad's passion for BattleTech.
"This one time daddy was playing his game in his big mech and he walked up to a baddy and the baddy just BLEW UP!"
In loving memory, Sarah's family and all of us here at MechWarrior Online kindly ask that you consider donating to your local Cancer Society or visit Cancer.ca to donate today.

You touchy-feely types getting your undies twisted over the potential symbolism inherent in actually shooting said mech is so flipping sensationalist I dunno whether to laugh or cry...
Talk about looking a gift-horse in the mouth.

Any gesture for Sarah would be appreciated... Giving us "special" mech in honor of her, donating the profits is a GRAND GESTURE... and is not the equivalent of spitting on her grave.
Apparently If I accept a raffle winning at a charity event I should feel guilt for using it.

Nothing to do with that. More to do with the falseness of the people that jump aboard these kinds of bandwagons. Most of the people who buy that mech won't honestly give two stuffs about Sarah, or what her family have gone through. It won't raise awareness to the plight of her or other sufferers, nor will the people that buy it think of it as anything more than a Hero Jenner, with all the benefits to them that come along with it.

Whether they give a banner or a Jenner mech named Sarah the outcome is the same...the money goes to charity. THAT is the point. This mech is about a father and daughter that play and loved this game. The mech is also there to "immortalize" her memory in a way by giving her her own special one of a kind Jenner which was her favorite. Don't think about it as running around and just blowing it up. If you use it think about that little girl and the mech she loved.
And what percentage of the people that buy one will have any of that on their mind when they buy it, hmm?
Most of them will think "Oooh.. hero Jenner.. niice".

First, the Sarah mech is great and does absolutely nothing to negatively impact gameplay. I do not understand why people are upset about this. Don't back down.
Second, please be careful about dividing the community. I know there is a separate thread about 3rd person. This game does not have that large of a player base and while 3rd person may bring in more people, segregating between the PoVs will be a disaster and I think everyone here knows it.
Have you guys considered making it some kind of mod? Specialized equipment like external cameras? There's no immersion if it isn't explained.
Please, please, please do this right since you guys are clearly committed to doing it. I know that you guys are trying to the best you can for BT and the community, and it's probably frustrating to hear all the extreme criticism from very hardcore and passionate people.
The base game is good. You guys really need to step it up and ensure that when all of the features that are planned and that are expected to flesh the game into something really worthwhile are fully-baked and do not need to be revisited.

Maybe that's my imagination or it hasn't been pointed out to people before, but, that mech in the picture is a Raven, NOT a Jenner.

Don't get so caught up in WHY people donate. Just be glad that they ARE donating. Whether they get a mech or not. Just think about that money that is going to charity. Stop being no negative and analytical as to why people do or do donate. Just be glad that they do donate no matter the reason for it.

You bumped the Orion for this P.O.S.? Really? I guess you all really weren't interested in all the positive response the Orion received on the forums..

When you expect the mech to show up in 2 weeks, only to be told it was changed for ZERO STATED reasons, it's REALLY annoying. I'm willing to accept "there are problems with the model" or "variant issues" or some potentially lame response.. but NADA.
I guess that's better than telling us the DAY OF the patch where they could REALLY screw us over.

Rear mounted weapons. But you said that Cryengine has problems with back-facing cameras? How is this supposed to work?
Are we getting the Limp-Draw instead of the full-on Quickdraw?
Oh, and as for art, PLEASE, I hope you're using old-school style art for it, like this:

The game needs more curved surfaces and less gruffness, more streamlines! It kind of reminds me of Maximillian from the Black Hole...

Max was cool. Really cool. Poor Vincent. He had it hard on that ship.
Oh, and fix your forum so we can copy/paste stuff without [color] showing up everywhere and backspace taking us back several lines.

Just like other mechs with rear facing weapons (I think only the cent out of our current lineup), it'll be put on the front.

Aah.. an "end justifies the means" kinda guy. Fair enough. I'm sorry, I just find the whole thing a little hollow and false. If people were a little more honest about all of this, it might sit better with me. As it is, the whole thing just feels wrong. *shrug*.

Already been waiting months for this mech. Not happy.
Release the hero Orion at beginning of July if you don't want a mutiny. (and announce you are doing exactly this real soon)
