Are we ever going to be able to know what map we'll be on before we drop? I am tired of having to pick general variants because I'm afraid I'll get something that'll will be a mess on maps like Alpine or Caustic.

Not knowing where we are going has a real impact on the metagame. If I take an LRM Stalker and I get Canyons or River City, I am in a less-than-ideal situation without really good support from my team. Similarly, if I take a 3x ERPPC Awesome and get Caustic, I'm in a less-than-ideal situation where I would have preferred to bring a different mech. If I take an AS7-D with an AC20 and SRMs and get dropped into Alpine, things are going to be rough.

Beyond that, are we ever going to see an improvement to the advanced zoom PIP? I have spent a lot of energy defending PGI and the state of this game, having started playing it on the first day of closed beta, but the fact that some of these issues still exist is very frustrating to me.

Seriously, I think you should reconsider your armament and your tactics!

A welcome update, but words of wisdom PGI.

"If you release a mech that isn't the mech you told your fanbase you were going to release, your gonna have a bad time."

BTW for some of the forum users on here.

So the gist of this post was to let us know to quit playing the game in 30-60 days. Roger that.

I feel I must ask why you guys decide to drop the Quickdraw this month instead of the Orion. If it was for technical reasons, I can understand, but if it was just cause, I feel I have to disagree. The Orion would've been a better choice for rounding out our current 'mech pool. Still, I'm glad to see jump sniping takes a bit more skill to use.

Could you add that after community warfare the uie 2.0 interface, knockdown really tired of light mech and medium running thru my Highlander and really tired of DFA not working. Basically after direct x 11 is added and clan mechs.

Third Person view will be pushed to test servers in the next 30-60 days

The majority of players seems to not want 3rd person mode in game. A lot of my fellow mechwarrior have the same opinion that 3rd person will screw up the game.

Can we get a poll for how many people want are don't want it then you can see the numbers.

No matter what PGI does, there will be people that will complain at what they did. You can't please everyone, even more so about a game. Am I mad at some of the things in this patch...yes. Am I going to jump on the bandwagon of "PGI HATES US!"... no. Coding for a program is not easy, trust me I work for a software development firm, and I have seen first hand what is involved with it. Now, some explanation would be nice when something gets pushed back or changed but you deal with what they give you. Now I'm sure that this post will get lots of flak for me speaking my mind and defending PGI but it doesn't really matter to me. As a hardcore CBT fan, I am loving what they have done with the game. It feels like Battletech should!

Oh, and I hope that people don't compain about every mech that comes out that they can't min-max with or that they think is a waste. If you think a mechs useless, then you are not running them right!

Thanks
GW

Does that mean we'll get a Quickdraw QKD-5Mr, which has ECM?

Also, WHY? (with respect to 3rd person) Nobody freakin wants this.

What it means is, one of the Quickdraw's might possibly have ECM if they are following the trend in the link in my sig (started with spider). Best guess if trend follows: QDG-4G. And, Yes people do want a future QDG-8X Experimental poor-man's Omni Mech.

PGI, I applaud your ability to continuously make bad decisions and completely ignore your customers.

Look at that playa strut!

I hear you though. They've come through on all the other uggo's up to this point (jagger, cataphract..IMO). If they can pull this off, I'd start who wonder if maybe even the Hoplite and the Falconer could be redeemed...

Nothing to do with that. More to do with the falseness of the people that jump aboard these kinds of bandwagons. Most of the people who buy that mech won't honestly give two stuffs about Sarah, or what her family have gone through. It won't raise awareness to the plight of her or other sufferers, nor will the people that buy it think of it as anything more than a Hero Jenner, with all the benefits to them that come along with it.

Throwing money at a charity fund does not in essence honor a person it honors the wishes of the survivors who wish to fund a worthy cause in the name of the affected person so other might not have to one day feel the same sense of loss...

Regardless of the motivation, purchasing the special mech achieves the same end result in that money is sent to the charity on behalf of the survivors wishes.

Attaching syrupy sentiments to an inanimate object and feigning indignation when complete strangers do not feel the same emotional connection.. ;)

Mourn the loss, honor the survivors... Buy the mech and play the hell out of it because (I'm going out on a limb) Sarah and her pop would want it that way.

And those people could do that without their little Jenner badge, should they so wish. Why do they need a Jenner badge, before they'll do it?

So, the end justifies the means, even if the means are a little hollow? Fair enough, if that's what you think, knock yourself out.

Look up the word "hypocrisy" in the dictionary, I think you might be surprised what you find.

No, sorry I won't be doing that. If I want to give to charity (cancer or otherwise), I will do so of my own volition.

Pretty much, yes. Give to charity because you want to, not because you want a little badge to show the world how great you are.

Even when they decide to do a seemingly undeniably good thing like contributing to cancer research...people like you have proven time and time again, you just can't win with someone hell-bent on complaining about something. Should all companies that give to charity stop because they're "just doing it for PR"? Motives aside, doesn't the ends justify the means?

If the money from her mech is going to charity, then, from PGI's perspective, if they wanted to make the most money to give to said charity as possible, what's the smartest way to do it? Put a link at the bottom of their page and hope that the warm hearts of the MWO community will go there and give all they have... OR entice people to give to charity by giving them a free mech? Whether you agree with the morality or whatever is irrelevant, which will yield the most to the charity?

I agree with the point that people should give to charity because they want to, not just to show how great they are with a little badge, but, your complaint isn't against PGI, MWO, or even it's community, you're talking about society as a whole here...is it PGI's job to change society now? Don't you think they have enough work to do?

If I recall correctly, the poll thread we had showed 90%+ in opposition to the idea.

That's when PGI pulled the "forum posters are a minority" card and closed the thread.

Orion was bumped by one cycle (3-4 months). It will be the next Heavy.

WTF man, follow through with your damn commitments and people will give you the benefit of the doubt, constantly changing your stand on things give the company no direction and leaves us with no trust!

this is stupid, a mech that nobody had any idea about was fully tested, built is being implemented before a scheduled mech that also is probably fully tested and built...

have you got your head on right?

"People Like Me"? Check my post history. With the exception of 3PV this is the ONLY thing I've really complained about with regards to PGI and / or MWO. And for what it's worth, it's not a complaint, it's a "I understand why you're doing it, I just don't agree with what you're doing". And actually, I don't have a problem with the FACT this story is being commemorated, I just think the WAY it's being done is a step further than it needs to be.

I've been FAR from "OMG Y U GIVE PPL MECH 4 DED GRL", and tried to be rational about something I feel so strongly about, so I'd kindly ask you to check your facts before tarring me with what you deem to be a suitable brush!
