What I do not like is they are such social media wh0res that they post on their twitter instead of their own forums. Appairently they think follower count on twitter is a mark of importance in the world.

No. What is shocking is people still act like infants even when they aren't surprised. Does this delay effect your livelihood? Does it cause you to lose sleep at night? if not then a delay has no effect on your life at all, so relax a bit. If you are going to be mad at least be mad about them announcing it on twitter instead of their own forums, not that there is a delay.
Note: "You" and "Your" used as non directed forms, not aimed at any person but people in general.

Apparently they removed the tweet from the twitter account because after looking for it I cannot find any record of them saying that there will be no patch. Besides they hardly ever read the forums anyway so it is a moot point to even post here anymore. I dare someone from PGI to prove me wrong in this but I know I am right so meh.

No, what's shocking is I've stood an advocate for all things well and good "PGI" and now, I'm left without a leg to stand on. I've accepted the numerous setbacks over the course of MWO's extensive development. One of the final un-touched places where we the players could count on correct information WAS this thread.
As it stands, there is no relevant point in creating this thread going forward seeing the information IE; release dates contained herein have been demonstrated inaccurate.
Am I going to lose sleep at night? Absolutely not
Am I going to play this game less? Probably
Am I going to spend less? Definitely
Infant. That's laughable. If I'm upset about anything, it's supporting a company with my wallet that over the course of a year has completely derailed in the business ethics department.
As a business owner, I understand communication with clientele is absolutely critical. Why should it be any different here?

I don't mind if patches are delayed, or features changed / postponed, or bugs introduced, as long as there is some sort of communication to inform the community.

Exactly my point, be mad at the communication not the delay itself. I am a small business owner as well and delays do happen. The worst thing you can to is project a timeline if you have any doubts at being able to hold to it.

"Due to various reasons we will be unable to meet our XXX YY window for this patch. Further details forthcoming"
I would rather know that there's a date-slip than just wonder. Better be proactive about it than reactive.

So... ok it's another fund drive. DID that take priority over the other patch related items? I tend to worry when there's a perception that the marketing side is held at a higher priority then the base user PR and technical side.
