We need instructions on how not throwing up while playing this game!

Play something else than a pop-tart mech.

None of our internal testers reported this issue, but we will be monitoring this thread as it ruminates.

Possible Workarounds:
A ) Turn on lights.
B ) Sit further from your monitor.
C ) Take a 10 minute break whenever you start to feel ill.
D ) Ginger capsules or other anti-nauseants can be effective. Consult your field medic.
E ) Don't press Space.
F ) Un-equip Jump Jets

Your post is disgusting.

The people who are reporting that jump jet reticle is making them nauseous are raising a valid concern. One that is utterly removed from balance or the usual nonsense on this forum.

For your information the reticle shake is making me nauseous as well.

When people offer genuine feedback that your game is making them physically sick they expect more than a smart arse post complete with school boy meme.

You might want to take on-board the fact that the game does not have an FOV slider before you offer it as a possible solution.

Of course you could do some research and start manually editing config files, but this is not something everyone is confident to do.

Or how about providing information or a link on how to do this instead of belittling people with valid concerns?

Troll posts are fair game from the great unwashed, but from a Dev? Never. Shame on you.

I really enjoy playing with my jenner however the jump jet shake is making me sick when I play, and I only have 2 jumpjets on it.

I can't play pop-tart, I can't play Jenner, I can't play jump jetting brawler mech. I can't play anything with jump jets without getting sick.

Maybe they should implement chance of getting sick to all types of gameplay. Missileboats can get their ears locked. AC40 Jagermech pilots should get neck injuries from the kickback of the cannons. If Large Laser boat pilots don't use welding classes their eyes should melt etc. IT'S ONLY REALISTIC!

Give them a break. They put up with our $h1T 24/7, so if they wanna make a joke or be light hearted once and a while let them. Additionally, they understand what A LOT of us understand... and that's Poptarters are PiS$$ssEd! Do I think that merits an "ignore button" for valid concerns like nausea? No... but it sure is fun to watch the hippidy hoppers squirm ;)

no actually his post is quite alright...a bit harsh..but pls tell me all those complkaingi of motion sickness are only affected by this new shake..what about all the other shaking effects in game from the start (being hit from misssiles of ballistics for example) what about all the sudden direction changes all those things did NOT affect them but now JJ shaking does!?

as i said in another post i understand that some complains of motion sickeness are legit and i really feel for those guys i really do...but i also feel most complains are just poptarts trying to find a legit excuse why this JJ nerf is bad...what the hell, all ofa sudden everybody gets motion sickness but so far they were fine with all the shaking and turning around already ingame!? seriously?!

Am extremely unimpressed with this type of response to a rather serious real life issue........Posted Image Maybe I'm not laughing because I'm nauseous.

Because the shake is now independent of the environment. Much like sitting in a car reading a book and stuff whipping past the corner of your eye.

This. Of course, people just want to look at it as QQing because it doesn't affect them personally.

It's similar to Doom. The motion in Doom 1 and 2 is horrifically unnatural, so my brain rejects it and gives me motion sickness. I can play modern shooters no problem, but then, they model motion much better. But trying to play old FPSes today is just asking for a trip to the toilet to harf.

Stop playing and call a doctor immediately.

Just like for every video game every, if you experience nausea or dizziness, the next step is not to post about it on the forums, but to stop playing immediately, and consult a doctor.

Agree that the shaking is too extreme. I don't get motion sickness but can easily see how this shaking can affect others.

Exactly, and coming here to tell us all about your medical history is not patch feedback. It's a personal medical condition that you should speak with your health care professional about. Perhaps they can prescribe you something for your motion sickness.

Perhaps you might want to realize this isn't a medical condition thing. Certain graphical effects affect certain people negatively. It's fairly common and a responsive developer does something about it. Those people are giving feedback in the feedback thread.

You on the other hand, are just being a dismissive prik.

I just checked. Nope, in not one of the video game manuals ever written, does it say "If you experience nausea or dizziness, please go to the forums and provide feedback about the graphics in the game." Nope. It says consult a doctor. Balancing a game around peoples medical issues(motion sickness is a medical issue whether you believe it or not) is not wise.

Now the devs have to sort through and see how much of this is real and how much of it is....'my favorite trick is nerfed so i'm going to fight back'. If pulse lasers were OP I might say they cause epilepsy or something, you know how trollish these forums are.

If the concerns are valid, I hope the devs maintain the principle of the 'nerf' and cosmetically fix it, instead of undoing the mechanic.

You are thick as a stump and I cant imagine you ever saying something that I would ever glean anything of value from.

Congratulations... you are the third person since MWO launched to successfully make my ignore list. You are in good company.

OMG it is horrid now. Jump jets are in most of my mechs. Now I want to just throw up from the unnatural shake. What was so wrong with them before? I never faced a situation (and I mech a lot) where I found jump jets to be in any way OP, poptarts included. Now jump jets along with my favorite mech (Spider) are ruined. WHY WHY WHY?

I too dislike the JJ nerf, it makes jumpsniping virtually impossible which I guess was intended.

JJs should have been nerfed in another way, make them more heavier, then make that you need all of them to perform a correct vertical climb (restraining jumpsniping capabilities to HM and 733C only, not the other landers). Before that patch you could use 2 JJs everywhere (even on highlanders) to achieve normal jumpsniping capabilities, the same with phracts, catapults, trebs and so on.

If a chassis have room for 4 jjs, you should fill them all to reach vertical climb. Do this, and up weights for class I to 2.5, II to 2.0, III to 1.5 and IV to 1 ton and you won't see so much jumpsniping, highlanders would need to address 10 tons (and only the 733C would be able to do that), while anyone else with 1 or 2 JJs would gather enhanced mobility over terrain rather than vertical climb.

As usual ballast is done with the banhammer instead of some tweaking.. Sit back and see how they'll screw out boating, another thing that could be addressed (as the Jumpsniping) introducing hardpoint restrictions.

I played 3 matches, One match with all out sniping, Second match brawler 733C with JJ's and Third a jenner with JJ's. Currently I stopped playing cause I feel absolutely sick to my stomach.

Please reduce this shake, it's breaking gameplay by making people need a barf bag next to them.
