Brawling is back, sniping is still viable.
Like it.
Cheers.

I love this patch. I think that SRMs still need love but it's a step in the right direction. As for the cockpit shake, guess what, if you ride on the end of a rocket you get shaken up. Watch the Apollo launches.
Thumbs up.

Now if they would remove instant convergence, and add in some heat penalties, we'd be about there.

+3 isn't world ending, but it is the highest "self move" modifier you can incur. The shake might be too much.
Graphic aside (they can tune down the actual GRAPHICAL shake if it really is making too many people sick), they had to do something to limit the popularity of jump shooting. It wasn't just snipers, it was anyone who could jump. For a good while the metagame focused on being a jump mech and jump-douching everyone else. EVEN BEFORE THAT, jets were being used to throw your target boxes out of alignment and screw up other people's shots - and that's what a lot of brawlers mean when they say they use "one jet for brawl maneuvering."
Like most things in MWO, the players broke it. PGI had to get heavy handed to fix a real problem. They can turn down the graphic, but I'd say the massive hit penalties aren't going away.
Now machine guns, those were preemptively narfed to combat a PERCEIVED problem that has never developed...
