Jump Jet snipers are suitably nerfed, LRMs have a slight buff to make them usefull but not overpowered.

Brawling is back, sniping is still viable.

Like it.

Cheers.

Heck yeah.

I love this patch. I think that SRMs still need love but it's a step in the right direction. As for the cockpit shake, guess what, if you ride on the end of a rocket you get shaken up. Watch the Apollo launches.

Thumbs up.

Haven't had a chance to patch and run yet, but so far things sound not so bad.

yeah the Jump Jet nerf is a game ruiner . when coupled with the over powered LRM ill probably just spend my time elsewhere until its fixed. I cant really believe there are that many who just want to have a LRM show every match.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a textbook example of the "Straw Man" logical fallacy...

Yessir. I still feel like missiles need a little more bite, but all in all a step in the correct direction.

Now if they would remove instant convergence, and add in some heat penalties, we'd be about there.

I am really enjoying this patch thus far, the LRM's seem fairly good now, I only have LRM's on a couple mechs, and only a couple launchers at that, but seems like a full boat is not required anymore for them to be a valuable asset on a mech. On top of that the Jump Jet shaking is great, it increases the skill require for successful jump sniping, and as a light mech pilot the shake is not severe enough to create issues with mid air aiming.

Fully agreed, I think the update balances JJets and LRMs exactly as it should. Plus the jetting is more realistic which is cool.

My per-match damage doubled, even though my ping is still higher than before, suggesting they fixed the lag issue.

Definitely hitting things better since patch, and no disconnects so far. Less poptarting. LRMs are slightly better, still a bit weak. But for the most part a step in the right direction on all fronts.

No offence, but I'm thinking you need to look up what a strawman argument is.

Agree, lrms feel pretty good, pop tarting is no longer OP but still doable, now to give those srms a little love.

From a tabletop standpoint, jumping was a +3 modifier to shooting in addition to how far away and how fast your enemy was moving.

+3 isn't world ending, but it is the highest "self move" modifier you can incur. The shake might be too much.

Graphic aside (they can tune down the actual GRAPHICAL shake if it really is making too many people sick), they had to do something to limit the popularity of jump shooting. It wasn't just snipers, it was anyone who could jump. For a good while the metagame focused on being a jump mech and jump-douching everyone else. EVEN BEFORE THAT, jets were being used to throw your target boxes out of alignment and screw up other people's shots - and that's what a lot of brawlers mean when they say they use "one jet for brawl maneuvering."

Like most things in MWO, the players broke it. PGI had to get heavy handed to fix a real problem. They can turn down the graphic, but I'd say the massive hit penalties aren't going away.

Now machine guns, those were preemptively narfed to combat a PERCEIVED problem that has never developed...
