Thats a point but i still feel that it looks horrible, just add more spread the longer you burn JJs that decreases slowly but please get rid off the shake. Wider crosshair as a visual clue, you hold JJ key crosshair slowly widens and tightens on the way down. I would be fine with crosshair shake/cockpit shake on a non softened touchdown though.

This would look better, help people that have issues with motion sickness and strenghten the feel off weight on touchdown while accomplishing the same thing.

Maybe, but you would still be able to center it with little trouble. Then it's just a matter of waiting for the cone to go away. If they did it that way, they would have to keep some cone of fire until the mech actually touches down.

If he was a 4chan mod, I'd call it classy.

4chan mods are required to be very classy and smooth, or they won't be mods for more than an hour.

Loved the cockpit shake! Finally felt like a challenge to use my 732. When I nailed that last frickin' Cicada with a hail Mary triple PPC shot, I felt like I deserved an achievement.

- That aside, I am prone to motion sickness but so far so good!.

Took me three runs in my 732 to make me have to quit for awhile, never in my mechwarrior career have I suffered from motion sickness.

None of our internal testers reported this issue

Are these the same testers that have repeatedly failed to stop major bugs and game imbalances from going live?

I'm shocked.

Bahahaahaha. I love it. Less Highlanders. Moar fun! ;)

MW 4 was for the weak, anyways. It was easy mode for the lazy.

Has anyone tested the effects with say srms or even streaks. I guess a good example would be the streak A1 / SRM A1, do the missles go in random places? Does it break the lock on streaks?

Here's an idea. Don't use poptarts, problem solved. If JJing and trying to shoot makes you sick don't do it. On topic I get motion sick pretty easily in video games, but the reticule shake of JJing hasn't done anything to me, but I'm not trying to shoot things when I use my JJs since I use them for mobility.

That's a given, but that's not the point - the point is that trying to balance the game via precluding a random portion of player base from using a game feature is not a good solution.

Shooting has nothing to do with it - it's the actual animation of the reticle and/or screen shake that causes the problem, so for me using JJs for mobility is pretty much off the table also.

Okay I spent some more time running around Training Grounds, and if I JJ as frequently as possible I do start to feel early signs of motion sickness, but I can't imagine that anyone would spend that much time JJing around a map even in a light. I mean I really just JJ everywhere for about 15 minutes. To do that through a few matches would actually be worse than just walking around everywhere especially now that poptarting isn't worthwhile. I rescind my earlier, snarky, comment, but I still don't see it as an issue unless you JJ obsessively.

Running my 732 a few times and whoa, I almost lost my cookies.

And LRMPocalypse v5 is underway!

But the next in cockpit item is going to be a barf bag, so that solves that problem...

Agreed - the cockpit shake is too much, and the rapid, jiggly target reticule is a poor implementation - just widen the targeting circle as in other games.

I like the IDEA of the nerf - attacking accurately while jump-jetting should be difficult - but the implementation leaves something to be desired.

I'll have to try it later tonight.
3D movies give me headaches and nausea, so I'll see how bad the shake is.

Positive side of the change: now that using jets for firing/sniping has been merged, perhaps we can get some jumpjet maneuverability buffs, you know so we can actually maneuver with the darn things.

Far from whining, I believe there should be some kind of nerf to JJing.

My problem is the "amount" of shake, which is causing motion sickness for alot of people.

The cockpit shakes is horrible and unneeded. The recticle shake is enough.

There needs to be some kind of shake going within the cockpit, but what is going on is way to violent and is causing nausea for a lot of people.

30 seconds into trying the new JJ change, I started to get a migraine. I don't play first person shooters in general because the high speed movements cause me headaches. Mechwarrior moves at a pace that is a lot slower and doesn't cause me problems. Now, today it did. The reticle shake is fine. The screen shake is ridiculous and made me woozy. I stopped spending money on this game a couple months ago behind another silly change. Today I'm think I'm done. It's one thing to make silly changes. It's another when the change can make people sick while trying to play. I tried out Neverwinter and I like it so far. Guess my money is going there.

Everyone posting this type of stuff - I guess all of you only use jumpjet mechs and cant stomach the idea of driving a mech without? seriously, over-reaction.
