Everyone posting this type of stuff - I guess all of you only use jumpjet mechs and cant stomach the idea of driving a mech without? seriously, over-reaction.

Or are too young to have taken the family SUV out and driven on a dirt road... lol

Positive side of the change: now that using jets for firing/sniping has been merged, perhaps we can get some jumpjet maneuverability buffs, you know so we can actually maneuver with the darn things.

They're JUMP jets, not flight jets. Aside from a couple mechs ever built, they aren't even supposed to be directional or provide maneuverability in the air. This is BattleTech, not anime.

No one could pilot a directional JJ mech anyways, they would be puking all over the monitor.

Yeah, they're also supposed to provide 30 horizontal meters and 6 vertical meters per jet. What's your point.
Mine was that they can now be buffed to provide better air and distance.
You know, so you can make it over things.

Has anyone tested the effects with say srms or even streaks. I guess a good example would be the streak A1 / SRM A1, do the missles go in random places? Does it break the lock on streaks?

Just launched the CatapultA1 in a match to see, JJ'ing over Dev ThomasO repeatedly and SRM-punching him in the face/back right on target every time. Missles go right in the middle of where your cursor is jumping. ...definitely won't be sniping with it, but no harm within 300meters. Short-range game is safe.

Well I literally do only use jumpjet mechs and I use them continuously throughout the whole game rarely have a full fuel bar. Have not tried it yet though, more indirect ssrm buffs ftw cba.

To be fair, those mechs are all property of Harmony Gold and are considered unseen mechs and do not exist in the BT world...

The shake effect needs to be less just on the motion itself, not necessarily with respect to how it affects your reticule/shooting. I cannot imagine how this affects Highlanders... because that's potentially a lot of wasted tonnage.

I do not seem to be impacted by this but I can see how it could impact others.

Something I think that may be contributing to the feeling of motion sickness is the fact the reticule and screen shake are both random and independent.

This leads to a situation where the reticule might move left but the terrain move right. Without any sense of inner ear movement the brain is getting contradictory signals it cannot reconcile.

Some people are much more sensitive to that type of thing and will get motion sick because of it.

I think if the random shaking of the reticle is with the cockpit, it would fix alot of motion sickness.

Not both shaking randomly with your peripheral in a static state.

I haven't had a chance to play it yet, and I'm a bit skeptical about how many people complaining are legitimately feeling nauseous over this, but does the entire HUD shake? If so, just keep the outer elements (target info, health & weapons) steady, and that should resolve any motion sickness issue by giving people a stable reference point without changing the gameplay effects.

I like the crosshair shake, but I think the cockpit rattling could be toned down a little. I don't get motion sickness or anything extreme, but it does get a little disorienting at times (at least in a highlander), and that makes JJs less effective at their intended role (scaling/clearing obstacles etc.).

Having a little bit of shaking would make DFA require a little bit of skill when collisions are re-introduced, but I don't think it should be this bad.
