A shaky reticle that messes up your aiming is fine, reducing your ability to see is not.

So much for jumping up to scout... if a 'mech has ECM, there's no way you're going to see it at 600m or so.

I was trying out my old Catapult C1 due to the LRM buff, and jump jetting was a serious hassle.

I dislike that a bunch of builds are getting nerfed because pop-tarts with pin-point damage are too good.

Maybe weapons with pin-point damage are too good, due to the host state rewinds?

Yes, keep the screen shake.

While I appreciate what the screen shake does for the game balance, what it does to the screen is not exactly necessary AND is giving some folks severe nausea.

The randomization of the hit location, aka aim adjustment, could be done by itself and effect the appropriate game balancing necessary to reduce the meta game poptarts (to make room for the next meta game).

As it stands, the current screen shake will affect enough people with actual physical side-effects that it would be prudent to consider other ways of limiting poptart dominance.

The idea, yes. It's a little over the top, but I don't really mind that. My Highlanders seemed just fine. I sympathize with those who have real medical issues, but so much motion sickness in one day is a little extreme.

So is this game.

Nah. Humans are realistically violent to the core.

It equates to making JJ's on my jenner even more useless. I had stopped playing my 5-JJ jenner months ago when it couldn't even consistently make the seawall on river city. The ONE advantage a light like a jenner has is utterly useless. Well, speed, but that's nerfed with the speed cap. Lights are dead in this game right now unless you have ecm.

If you can't hit your target using JJs on a Jenner you're bad or should stop being a poptart.

I've never missed my target while in the air because I'm within medium laser range anyways and assaults are giant targets at that point.

I can completely sympathize with the people experiencing motion sickness though. It can be pretty rough on the eyes.

I think the reticule shake and perhaps the random fire location are fine. I'm even okay with the screen shake, though I do think it needs to be toned down *a little*. Mind you, I think the current implementation is a fine baseline, but the shaking should be less profound (but still present) for the lighter mechs. All in all, I think the change is a decent one thus far.

It brought an unrealistic and abused mechanic back into line. What's not to like about it?

This.

Plus: it brought brawls back, it brought back fast-paced action, it brought back tension even into 4 mans.

I did about 12 4man drops yesterday - it was the best fun I had in this game in months. And most of that is down to the fact that there were practically no poptarts.

(says me who liked to run a 3D poptart).

Thumbs up PGI, on spo with this one.

Jumped up with my highlander several times to spot, it's not too hard.
Even made some nice 500m shots with my 2 PPCs and AC/20 on the way down.

I played over 10 matches tonight, all with jumpjet brawlers (Yes, I consider AC/20+2PPCs+SSRMs to be a brawling loadout), and I honestly have no idea why people are complaining so much.

At my usual 25fps screen shake seems unnecessary.

jj-shake was badly needed, but its WAY overdone atm(as usual).
we all know that theres allready been an jj-shake at the liftoff-phase, wich should just have kept on shaking...
instead, after the liftoff, the crosshair starts to go MAD, this feels more like a broken hud then a shaking cockpit.
put in the same shake weve had/still have when first firing jumpjets instead(the important hing is that jumpjetting will render your crosshair useless, right?).

regards

I feel no sympathy at all for the poppers who whine about the shake. We have had to deal with your kangaroo jumping for months.. the least you can do is feel our aggravation. I would like to think they don't go back on it, but you never know with PGI..

I like the screen shake, i just want the reticule to make sense. Get rid of the random shot feature!!! Keep the shake to make aiming hard, just not impossible.

This new jump-jet "mechanic" "fix", is like using a nuke to take out a squad of infantry.

I was a rather decent pop tart player (after giving up on brawling for a while) ... I am happy for the screen shake. However, the shake itself made me slightly nauseous. I'd vote for slightly less shake, but I may try the expanding the FOV as suggested earlier to see if that helps.

JJ shake is fantastic, but for the sake of those who are physically suffering a bit, can be toned down.

For now, just ignore the cockpit and view the outside, and don't zoom in.
