Man, step back. Take a seat. You're offended because you have worse migraines so he has no room to complain? Just..no.

I need a flag, because I think I've finally found one of the things wrong with this game.

Sure you can complain, but it's all about using the right words. It's like saying you have full blown **** when it's a cold thats having effect on your immune system or a girl that played one game of CoD and says: I just played CoD I'm such a nerd.

Wreck my aim all you want, but there is way too much screen shake. A little shake, just a bit, might even be immersive. But this is heavy-handed.

HHoD counts over 400 members...
ive trained 75 pilots to become mechwarriors in the past 2 months...

some light pilots, some become missile boats, some become assaults, some become fast brawlers and some become jump snipers.

all proportional, which makes up for good team balance...

in the past 2 months, half have stopped playing because of stability issues...

Now I do not recommend new players invest into getting MC for premium time or mechbays:
because they cannot play ( stability).

I also discourage them from buying Hero mechs, because PGI will do something in the next patch to wreck them.

what is the point of playing as a team if you are going to nerf every team player into oblivion???

I tell them to play this game with a grain of salt, that is is beta, that they better wait until is officially released...

I just checked out this JJ screen shake for myself and I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. It's honestly negligible and I can't understand the complaints.

I go back to what I said before... so tell me about your pro gaming skills, staring intently at the screen, making quick movements and snap responses yet suffering from "motion sickness".

I suffer from travel sleepness and I'm unable to drive legally because of this condition. However I've never passed out and faceplanted because of playing a game that graphically simulates movement.

Some of you "pro gamers" need to seriously get a grip. Maybe stop playing games if your condition seems to be as severe as you're describing it.

I'm sorry I'm not buying this motion sickness cobblers. Yesterday while at work I read countless threads complaining about the shake being so bad they felt sick. I got home, fired up the Jenner and jumped into the testing grounds expecting to experience something akin to when I was in that earthquake 2 years ago.

What did I experience? A little bit of shaking and a jumpy reticule that only moves while you are not firing. Really? That little shake is causing you to feel ill? I call bull. It reeks of QQing poptarters clutching at straws trying to find any excuse to get their meta back.

I would also like to point out that this is a mech SIMULATOR, and as such you should EXPECT to experience motion sickness if you are flying through the air in a giant 90 ton battlemech with rockets strapped to its back. The fact that PGI has achieved this is something to be applauded. It really adds to the immersion and if this really makes you ill, then I'm sorry but jump jetting isn't for you. You do realise that there are a myriad of other mechs and loadouts that you can enjoy without jump jets, don't you?

Back when I was 17 I was told by the RAF that I couldn't be a jet pilot because I had a lazy right eye. Hey guess what? I chose not to become a fighter pilot.

The shake is fine as it is and it really adds to the immersion.

Well done PGI. You nailed it spot on, first time.

Once the adjustments for weight are in in the next patch just leave it. As is, working as intended. Then focus your attention on the other more important stuff (*cough* community warfare *cough*).

yeah that's real scientific. because you didn't feel motion sick on one particular day everyone else must be lying so they can perpetuate an easily counterable mechanic that you can't deal with because you're a scrub

I somehow get the impression that 85% of personal insults would be going in the direction of the guys making the game. Frustration is high...but we're not really mad with each other.

save for the ones softly whispering QQ as they slowly drink our tears. that just isn't right in the head.

and in case you didn't know. 97.999% of all spider pilots are either drunk or high when on the field, so giving them all vertigo, I just hope you post an address for all the cockpit cleaning bills. I had to take my spider and lay down on the bottom of a lake until the planet stopped spinning.

Well again congratulations to you people who DONTget sick from this.

I am very happy for you but seriously **** OFF with the attitude already and calling others liars and QQers for the poptart cause, as I and others have said repeatedly

YOU DONT HAVE TO HAVE SUFFERED ANY KIND OF TRADITIONAL MOTION SICKNESS AKA CAR/SEA/ROLLERCOASTER TO GET SICK FROM THIS DIFFERENT KIND OF VISUAL INPUT

I dont get motion sickness in the traditional sence and I am a SPIDER pilot at heart and have never had a problem driving it but this is not the traditional kind...

Click on the 2nd link in my signature and read that post, the fix is quite simple.

WE HATE POPTARTS TOO WE ALSO WANT THEM FIXED WE JUST WANT A WAY THAT WONT PHYSICALLY AFFECT PEOPLE.

I just want to drive my spider without feeling sick...

Well if it really IS making you ill I would refer you to the second part of my post. Perhaps jump jetting really isn't for you. The fact that you are so vociferous in your complaints is making me think that you are both "he who doth protest too much" to be honest.

This is a good idea. When piloting an 75 tonn mech your head would shake even when walking right?
I dont have a jumper, but watched a match yesterday after i died. I was with someone in a Spider and OMG shake it baby.
It felt like pilot would fallout his seat actualy.
I can understand why people complain about it. And as a brawler 1 thing to add - learn to hide from snipers! Or next thing we get is that ER-PPCs will make your mech shake just because you have it on your mech :P
The whole point of the gyro is to adjust for shake. The inner ear is the same. We aren't bobbleheads yet pgi have successfully introduced a bobblehead mechanic now that is irrational. As many people have pointed out this could have been achieved in other ways.

God you are thick.

So, those of us that are affected should "just live with it".

Or... you know, PGI could fix their $@$ing game. Which fortunately, they announced they are going to do... eventually. So at the end of the day, what you think doesnt really mean jack **** anyways.

Maybe room for adjustment, idc. I don't use JJ's day to day, not even in my beloved HGN - they were the first things I stripped out.

What I am making a point of is the massively and extremely laughable overblown QQ from a HUGE number of people claiming they have visual motion sickness the minute an exploitable game mechanic is fixed.

It's honestly a miracle the human race managed to evolve to the state we are today with such a high proportion of people with crippling "disabilities" that require pandering to at every single opportunity.

For all those who (like myself) find the screen shake painful (I don't get nauseous, but do get a headache after a few games), I suggest two possible solutions:

1) Troll the game, grief people, and in general make yourself as much a pain as you can.

2) Simply don't waste your time being their 'crash test dummy'.

Sadly, it's the only message game companies understand, once they see their numbers going down, they will sit up and take notice. I couldn't care less if they removed the ability to shoot while jumping, but even using jumping to quickly reposition yourself/turn while brawling causes the screen to shake enough that overtime, it simply isn't worth the hassle (to me).

Sure I can go back to 6xPPC Stalkers, dual AC20 Jagers, LRM boats, or ECM mechs - since that's all I'm seeing atm. - But what's the point? This game repeatedly disappoints, PGI seems to spend a huge amount of their time fixing problems that they create. Hopefully CW will save this game and make it worth dropping again - but my confidence factor is at an all time low.

There were so many better fixes they could have done, increase weapon spread or introduce a cone of fire while jumping, removal of crosshairs while jumping, a shot randomizer while jumping, hell even removing the ability to shoot while airborne, instead they chose a good idea (reticule shake) and added the unnecessary screen shake and weapon randomizer. Thus taking away the ability to jump snipe (good) as well as the ability to use jump jets in any offensive fashion (stupid).

For those saying "jump jets are fine" or "I can hit the enemy" - guess what - hitting the enemy isn't enough. You need to hit specific spots on the enemy or you are wasting your (and your team's) time. Any of the fixes I described above would have been enough to make good players stop 'poptarting', as it is now there is no reason to put jump jets on a mech. Hills are hardly an obstacle, even climbing the canyon walls is pretty easy. You don't 'jump' fast enough to make someone actually miss you, not to mention hitting a jumping mech is very easy. So jump jets don't perform offensive or defensive functions - might as well mount small pulse lasers for all they are worth....

As for me, Eve just released Odyssey and MW Tactics just reset the economy - so there's lots of other game companies competing for my gaming time/money. Perhaps I'll come back to this game when they remove screen shake, or release CW. I recommend others consider this too, a long time ago I had a boss say to me, "I'll listen when people start talking with their feet." - Maybe it's time for PGI to listen. Thanks for the fish.

So after like a year of playing with jumpjets on spiders/jenners/4x ravens and never ever having any kind of sickness problem in mechwarrior or any other game or any kind of situation in the real world ALL OF A SUDDEN jumpjets are not for me and I should never use them again, im sorry but no I wont stand for that kind of nonsense just because people are buthurt about a different style of play that dosnt have anything to do with my laser based light mechs.

I know I havent clocked at lot of matches like other people due to hud bugs and other things but here is my mech list and matches played

Posted Image

As you can see I play a lot of mechs with the 9m and spider being my top mechs, and I love my spider to death, especially in the last few weeks when I have had less bug problems in game, go look at my signiture about my hero spider thread, go look in the light battlemech guides or the new player help, find my posts, I love my light mechs and my 9m awesome.

I dont drive poptarts I have never even owned a cataphract and have only driven trials once or twice, the only poptart mech I have is a highlander 733p and here is its build
Posted Image
As you can see It is not a poptart its a stupid LL/LRM/SSRM build, I dont like poptarts or ppcs, not one of my 16 mechs has a single ppc installed.

Im just fighting this debate for the overshadowed jumpjet users and sufferers of this particular kind of screenshake because this is the wrong way to nerf poptarts, the are other ways to go about fixing this precise aiming in the air when jumpjetting, and PGI even said themselves that all you have to do is stop thrusting then take your shot.

For the final time I am not a crying poptart user.

You admit that you don't use JJ's, then you laugh at people who say it's game-breaking for some reason or the other?

Come back when you have an actual basis for having an informed opinion, rather than spouting pointless rhetoric out of your posterior.
