well i know i am going to be getting one i love how it looks, and hopefully there will be a new camo spec that rivals vagabond so i can paint it loud obnoxious colors

it will go nicely with my awesome, cata, treb and highlander

and on a side note i love how everyone is belly-aching over the orion i was looking forward to having it too. It will get here just like the dumb clan mechs, you guys have to learn to be patient.

they will get here when they get here..... and not before

As ever, the art is awesome.
I wish the tabletop minis were defined by this artwork, and not the original stuff.

To all those people that are saying Dragon will die - I was the first person to do ER Large Laser/Gauss (I started running that build when I first bought my 1N, just before Cataphract was added to the game, is one of my best snipers and shall be once again when I rebuild it). Dragon is a sniper, like an Awesome. You don't take it into the front lines to brawl unless you're a complete moron or your target has paper-thin armor/one leg/is a Raven (Well, then again, I try to remove the Raven's leg at range, it's too easy). It's also agile for a heavy mech, and the lack of jumpjets doesn't hurt it when you consider how accurate it can be over long range. Yes, there are other heavies that can do the same sort of builds, but to be fair, poptarts got nerfed this patch with the JJ shake.

This mech, to contrast my Dragon, is a brawler. Jumpjets, close-range weapons? You theoretically could load it with PPCs and LRMs like a Highlander, but then you end up as bait for skilled snipers. Besides, my Dragon normally would get the arm-mounted Gauss removed, and would still have the LT-mounted ER Large shooting. I predict variations of the SRM/laser builds for this thing. Or Zombie builds without XLs. (Zombie Centurion with an XL is kinda self-defeating, but I normally see Wangs with that sort of build...)

Although you can not actually confirm that you were the first person to use that build, it is a good build (and no, I do not claim to be the first person either, in fact, I do not even own a Dragon). The problem with the Dragon is the huge center torso, and I think that the Quickdraw will have a huge advantage in that regard.

Funny how people complain so much, yet noone has commented on the fact that despite the constant "you don't produce any content" people spout, they have assets that weren't even announced ready and available for launch...

This writing reads like fan fiction. I write action/thriller ebooks as a second job. Any chance you're looking for someone with some experience on these posts, PGI?

THIS! I work as an editor as a full time job(I won't say where because people are 'funny' about editors) and fot the love of syntax outsource your editing to someone cruel and heartless! This is a serious issue; well edited content improves the image of a brand a million times over.

Am i the only one who is looking forward to this mech? i didnt like the dragon because of the hard point restrictions but this mech seems to be all about offense and speed which i entirely in favor of. Eventually the Orion will be in MWO but you people have to learn patience.

Patience... what you mean the 5 odd month since it concept art 20th Dec? I believe we had waited long enough, and many were geared up to snap up and use the Orion, an iconic and general all-rounder machine. To have it switched 2 weeks out from it's release for no 'solid' official reason is more a slap in the community face. Think along these lines... if they do it to this mech/content, what's to stop them backtracking and replacing announced content with what they want...

And yet here we had a mech announced for over 5 months get shelved so they can 'show off' said assets... which they already had said they had 6 unrevealed mechs completed and ready to go...

Quite frankly all the Quickdraw amounts to is an abridge between the Dragon and Catapult with similar hardpoint numbers to the Catapult and it's jumpjets mixed with the armour and speed of the Dragon. Not impressed we lost a great all-round boat in the Orion to be replaced by a supped up Trebucket in essence.

Not impressed, though still way better that original art from 80s. Just another one humanoid mech, but this one is kind of faceless.

P.S. Can anyone read those chinese characters on the left thigh?

My disappointment aside does anyone know what that thing on the quickies left shoulder is? above the LRM 10? it kind of looks like an odd launcher or something (or it could just be a vent for the JJs)

was hoping PGI would make another Heavy with jump jets, Cat and Dragon wasn't for me even though I like the mechs. QD should be a good fast striker, and with collision and hopefully melee coming this will be one tough mech :)

Great mech

But quite potentially the worst story, it went passed Chuck Norris corny into the stupid side of expendables 2.

Was looking forward to the Orion as a more mobile Atlas style mech but this one looks interesting and Ill certainly give it a go before making any judgements.

Also people, they said it wasn't an intended switch, which means it was done for a reason, probably a last minute issue discovered with the Orion so stop whining about being slapped in the face, instead of pushing it back like most companies do they have replacement content ready and waiting which as far as I'm concerned is brilliant.

Love the story, Clint in a robot.

The sunlight glinted off the top of his Mech, the sun close to setting in front of him. “This planet ain’t for you to be trompin’ around, lone wolf. It’s time for you to leave.”
The Man shifted the cigar in his mouth, replying “And I guess you’re the ones to show me off, then?”
“That’s right. And we’re thinkin’ that nice Mech o’ yours would be a good partin’ gift. So why don’t you get on out, and we’ll let you leave.”
“Well, that’s mighty kind of you,” he said, biting down on his cigar, “But I think I’m just going to walk outta here, if you don’t mind.”
“The thing is, loner, that we do mind.”
The two Mechs stood, stock still, facing eachother. To each side he saw Mechs coming in to flank him.
“I guess we’re doing this the hard way then,” he stated.
“For you, yeah we are!” the other man sneered, suddenly starting to raise his arms. The Man was faster though, bringing his six medium pulse lasers to bear on the enemy Atlas’ head, coring it in the blink of an eye. He shifted left, as lasers from a Cataphract burned past him. His next salvo took the pilot right in the chest, straight through the cockpit glass. Missiles landed around him as he spun and fired again, obliterating the side-torso of a Commando – he turned away as it slowly thudded to the ground, and stood staring straight at a Centurion pilot hiding behind a rocky outcropping.
“Now you are probably thinking you’ve got me. My guns are overheated and I can’t possibly fire again. If I fire I’ll overheat, shut down, and you’ll have me dead to rights. Ain’t that so?”
“I, uh, yeah. Yeah! Surrender now, get out of your Mech, and I’ll, uh, let you go!”
“Well you’re forgetting one thing, raider. One very important thing that has passed right over you, that you aren’t thinking of, that coulda saved your life.”
“Oh yeah, and what’s that!” the raider shouted, his voice breaking at the end.
“That the entire time I’ve been talking, my heat has dropped back down, and your cockpit is peeking out over the rock there.”

“Oh s-“ the pilot started to say, as six medium pulse laser shots hit his cockpit, exploding it outward. As his Centurion collapsed against the rock, The Man turned his Quickdraw towards the right, saying over his open mic.
Posted Image
“And you there, Raven behind that rock. I’m walking out of here, and you, you’re going to tell ‘em. Tell ‘em what happened here. Tell them that no-one tells me what to do."
And with that, he turned and walked towards the sunset, blue light low forming a halo around him.

I am not sure, but this sounds more like a bunch of cowboys talking then something that realistically would happen with a bunch mechwarriors. I don't imagine some mechs more or less casually wandering around and someone trying to bully another mech.
[/nitpick] This would work more for an NGN comic then as an actual battletech story.

I like the Quickdraw. Always have.

I still think the Orion should be made next priority. We need a "Heavy-heavy" aside from the Cataphract.
