Not to mention that lrm boats have a minimum range of 180 m while a ppc stalker is only 90 and they still do a tiny amount of damage within 90.

Edit: I just dropped a couple times, sadly they were both on caustic which is probably the worst map to test lrm trajectory on. Hopefully I will have time to do some more drops later and hopefully I will get the city maps.

I LOVE THESE THREADS!!!
They fuel my evil nature and makes me want to start boating missiles for once.

To be fair though seeing as all weapons are called OP now and then - have any of you considered trying a diverse build?

You know builds that actually resembles the general idea from the beginning.
Such as a Cent A with an AC an LRM and a few med lasers?
I can tell you all from experience that they work just fine if you learn to play them.
AND
They are actually alot more fun since a few people hate on you when you kill them with it - sometimes going as far as saying ¨there is no way you can kill me with that **** build!¨ or my favorite ¨AIM HAX!! I CALL AIM HAX ON THAT!!¨
It is quite hilarious to be sure.

Now on the actual topic..
LURMS are not OP and they never really where.
Many people just forgot that taking cover when shot with exploding missiles is considered a good idea and course of action.
Instead they stood there waiting for the missiles to hit them while facing them directly and shouting ¨COME AT ME MISSILES! I HAZ HEAVY ARMOUR!¨

Try finding cover - try using your head and for the love of Kerensky, stop going in head first as if you were playing CoD :b

I'm going to try to get video of this next time but I just dropped on river city night against at least three lrm mechs. I was able to avoid ALL the missiles simply by hiding behind a building.

Now, I want to say that I am probably one of the worst beta testers in existence because, for some bizarre reason, games are exceptionally stable for me. So if the issue with lrm trajectory is the result of a bug or bad connection I will not be able to actively reproduce it. However, my findings thus far seem to suggest that the inability to dodge lrm fire is not global. I strongly suggest that people who are having this issue try to record instances were lrms are passing through buildings are arcing in a manner that you will be hit even in cover. We are beta testers after all and if this is an issue with coding we need to give as much info as we can in order to get this issue fixed. Just bitching about it won't help the devs.

Edit: I misspoke earlier. I dropped against 3 atlas with a lrm 20 each not 3 boats. In fact of my 6 drops I have not seem a single lrm boat.

I am dying from LRMs damaging almost nothing but my CT. Is this working as intended? I have noticed the frequency of LRM boating picking back up since the patch and now most matches are dominated by LRM mechs CT coring opposing mechs. It is not enjoyable game play and is far from any acceptable interpretation of TT rules IMHO.

I appreciate the work being done to make sure SSRMs spread damage and target different locations of the mech. Why is an equal amount of work not being done to LRMs? If that work is being done perhaps an update in the Devs Chair like the SSRM one would alleviate some of our concerns.

Thanks,

Though they do hit the CT quite ofte due to the high trajectory It is still mostly players that are not willing or able to change their facing that get massive hits to the CT.
If you play them yourself with reasonable sized launchers( meaning 10-30 missles per volley) you will see that a lot of players ignore LRMS untill their CT internals are orange or red. After that they start manouevering and it takes aprox. as much, if not more, volleys to finish them off as it took to bring them there.

Nonetheless I still favour the LRM behaviour pre May 21st dmg and trajectory wise. It was more fun to play on both sides of the launcher and indirect fire was not hiting that often.

River city is probably the worst map(well most of it) for LRM users but the trajectory change made them quite reliable there too. The real problem o n this map is that LOS, be it by yourself or a spotter, is not easyly maintained there so your ability to dodge them is probably because they lost target lock( a lot of players do not even use adv. target decay). If you want to have reliable comparison ask players that actually used LRMs regularly before and after the patch istead of misleading shapshotimpressions.
