So it looks like a new Jager with energy hardpoints in the arms along side ballistics. This could be the one, guys. I just might end up getting a Hero mech. I'm so in love with my Jager and Blackjack as it it but giving me a giant Balckjack? It's like they made it just for me!

Interesting teaser.
Wonder if mandatory Flamers come with it. :)
Maybe based off the JM6-B from MW2, that is a good design.

Not. Excited. At all.

Twin-PPC plus twin-AC2 means you definitely wouldn't have enough heatsinks to balance out the heat. Unless you go with twin-AC5 plus twin-LL, which lacks burst damage. If you don't carry ballistics then it's basically a K2. If you don't carry PPCs then it's basically like every other Jager.

Plus I have solid builds on all other Jager variants. I'll pass.

Also I don't get turned on immediately at the notion of Rifleman.

No interest in a 2xERPPC + gauss setup?

So I worked this out.

Move the ERPPC to the arms and there you go. Ignore front and rear armor distribution.
Firebrand

My only concern is that extensive piloting experience in the Jagermech has taught me that you WILL lose your side torso armor before your center torso. Your side torso weapons WILL get destroyed from crits before you lose your arm. So moving your energy weapons to the arms is a major plus. That said I've never actually used an XL in my Jagermech (I run dual AC10 with an STD260 in mine) so I don't know how vulnerable the side torso can be with an XL other than the many AC20 Jagers foolish enough to rush me in a straight line from across the map which I've picked apart from a safe distance.

Maybe the arms will have more than one energy slot per arm. The possibility to mount my quad small lasers on my arms rather than my torso would be a plus. Heck I'd even go back to medium lasers since I don't have to worry about them getting crited late game!

Did I mention that I HATE this kind of inconsistent burst-damage builds?

You mean all bust no sustained damage? Yeah when things get in close it can become a liability.

If it's able to mount AC5+LL in each arm, I'm going to have to buy one, name it the Bannockburn, and pet it and treasure it always :D

True to my word, I am now proud owner of the JM6-FB "Bannockburn", complete with AC5+LL in each arm and 2xML in CT.

I'm content :(

Edit: Here's the build: JM6-FB "Bannockburn".

The Firebrand is pretty much a Jagermech III, all it's missing are the ultra 2 ACs and 325 XL engine.

Its higher engine cap is interesting, though I feel it lacks the profile to perform a striking role like the Dragon. Here's an example of a 5xLL boat with the largest engine. Tops out at 93.2kph. You could of course just run a 6X LL build on a more traditional engine.

First hero mech I bought. It's great.

The stock loadout was horrible so I picked 2x PPC and 4x mlas.

Std version: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...71c4974741663d0
XL version: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...22b9f8969639e68

Didn't bother to sort out the armor. Nearly all to the front.

I'm playing this right now and it seriously kicks ***. Fast enough to manoeuvre and maintain the range. I'm not using ERPPC's because they run to hot for good damage output at range. The 4 mlas work nicely at shorter range.

The standard version is nice and sturdy without the 2x on basics I'm still finding it a bit sluggish. It be better with the 2x unlocked. I generally find that people will aim for a side torso first so that increases survivability allot.

The XL version has great heat efficiently and can maintain nearly continuous ppc fire. At 85kphs I can actually stay out of the engagement and relocate quickly. What I'm doing is running from flank to flank and taking pot shots at which ever target is present. At brawling ranges it can lay down about 150 damage before overheating so if you're aiming right the other guy should be dead quick.

At 85kphs and 40pts of alpha, this plays like a 4P with better heat efficiency.

But seriously, I've got 30 mechs. Only 1/6 are hunchbacks.

This mech makes me feel unclean when I run it with an XL340, 4x regular PPC's and 13 double heatsinks. Max armour everywhere except the arms (they are empty). 40 points of accurate alpha, decent heat efficiency and a top speed of 85kph without speed tweak.

XL 280 with 6 large lasers and 16 double heatsinks is also a fun build for that face melting firepower.

JagerMech III fans here?
JagerMech III
Slightly tweaked for current tech level (UAC2 to AC2, with 2 tons of extra ammo), otherwise accurate to the boardgame version.
Tweak it a bit before using.
