I love to read all these "poptarting doesn't takes skill" comments.
I highly advise all you naysayers to do it SUFFICIENTLY against someone decent. See how "easy" and "skill less" it is by then.
(Talking from over 10 years of MW4 online experience.)

You're right. Up until now it has taken more skill than it did in MW4, gotta give PGI that at least. Still a terrible effort-required-to-result-achieved ratio though.

skill skill skill skill skill, thats all i bloody see in the forum, what constitutes as skill? jumping and hitting something 200billlion km away? no it is not, skill involves being able to adapt to adverse situations like oo i dunno cockpit shake? instead of coming onto the forums to QQ about how your 'skillz' are being damaged try to adapt.

I agree with the OP! Devs PLEASE, unnerf the Jump Jets now. Reticle shake was a HORRIBLE Idea!!!!! Leave some cockpit shake by all means, but not what it is now. Reticle shake MUST GOOOO!! You ruined the highlander completely with this patch, as well as all the jump jet light builds. No one should even think of buying a Victor until this is fixed! MechWarrior NEVER had this crap! Please fix it or refund the cbills/exp/mc spent on the jump mechs and delete jump jets from the game. The current state of the jump jet is unacceptable. 20+year MechWarrior fan/player.

Honestly guys, part of the problem for me is playing my beloved spider gives me a headache after 3-5 games. Seeing myself miss an atlas at 300m because of a random factor and so blatantly pushed me over the edge. My crosshairs were both on him and I had a quarter of a second to get a shot off before he went out of view and I saw it go to my far right for no reason. That is extraordinarily frustrating. There need to be changes, it is simple as that. The devs did not seem to consider any other mechs than the ones that were whined about, and there is an increasing frustration from me because I have seen many people leave this game due to poor handling of game balancing and thought like you all that they were that they just weren't adapting to handle it. You really don't know what this is like until it happens to you directly, especially if your style of play was not the one targeted but was unintentionally the greatest affected by the change.

If any of you want to play with me just add me as a friend in game and I will play, but don't expect me to play long in my spider. Send me a private message here and we can arrange a time. Much of the time, the random offset doesn't effect your aim all that much but does cause misses quite often. A bigger issue for me personally is how it makes me feel(headache) and the fact that I disagree on a design level on random factors that can't be known at all. But doing all three of these things in one patch was a huge hit to the effectiveness of my favorite mech, and was heavy handed. That is the only way PGI knows how to balance this game apparently. They take sledgehammers to penny nails.

If you are someone who is very motion sensitive I can understand you being upset with the patch. I really disagree that this was a significant nerf to the spider as several of my merc company mates are still using it just as effectively as prior to the patch, but if you are feeling sick dealing with the new effect, I can understand this being bad for you. Please note that the developers have said they are going to reduce the amount of shake in an upcoming patch, and will also be reducing jump jet effects on lights and mediums slightly.

On another note, PPC's do need some increase in heat generation as they are still a bit more powerful than other weapons.

I'm sorry but if you cannot figure out how to use a highlander effectively post patch you are not a good player. All the mechwarrior titles with multiplayer should have had something similar. Easy poptarting is bad for any competitive mech game and this is a good fix for it as it makes it more difficult to do without making it impossible.
