Dear PGI, the community and I are very tired of the current meta. Alot of players have stopped playing because of the SRMcats and in the early days when SRMcats started ramping up all we got from you was "Shoot off the ears, guys!" ~ Community Manager

Not only did you alienate most the community when you left SRMcats virtually unchecked for the longest time.

Not only did you effectively kill the community when you blew up General Discussion.

Not only did you churn out so called "sales" when the game was so broken and con 40 year gold founders who don't know how to vote with their wallets because they played the first mechwarrior games and nostalgia'd so hard that they threw money at your feet.

Not to mention, where the hell is all that production value for the 5 million you made off the founder's program, cause I sure as hell don't see it.

The community is tired of poptarting and they've stop playing because of it. Just go in 8 mans and you'll get "Fail to find match" a least 3 times. If that doesn't tell you the state of affairs then I don't know what will. Maybe me griping some more?

Why people are leaving:

1. Weapon balance is out of wack because min/maxing.

2. They feel alienated by the community manager.

3. Price of MC is too steep, its F2P, its suppose to be MIRCOtransactions not MACROtransactions.

I can go on and on but I would start raging at that point, PGI.

With rage, a player since closed beta.

Yes, you should be too, they're wasting your founders money and any money you spent on extra MC. It about time to light a fire under PGI's ***.

You do realize the founder funds raised are still only about a quarter of production costs right?

which is ridiculous when the community is turning out examples of far superior maps that they would give for free.

If players can't figure out a way to save $5 a day over the period of a week, or even $1 a day over a 30 day month, maybe they should get a paper route. MC Protip: A player can save $30 or more in 5 days by not eating fast food/takeaway, and this can also have the advantage of being healthier!

SRMcat Protip: Keep outside 270m. Resist the urge to run up to the Voltronbot and attempt to punch it in the boingloins.

I hope this helps you become a better Gundamwarrior.

You're telling me 5 million dollars was only a quarter? 5 X 4 = 20 Million.
20 million dollars on a this game, yeah sure. There seems to be some Hollywood Bookkeeping going on here.

1. They didn't even create their own engine.

2. This game doesn't even have a enough content to last players a month.

3. Have you looked at the PGI employee list?(Let me just tell you, its tiny.)

Either their paying through the roof on licenses and fees or their doing some Hollywood Bookkeeping.

A lot of my friends left because of #1, the flavor of the month's flavor was stale, in conjunction with something you didn't complain about but I will: lack of game modes and maps.

Its bad enough when you fight the same mechs with the same weapons that dominate the current "meta" over and over, but it gets even worse when you have to do it on the same maps for the same stupid steampunk oil rigs.

Speaking of game modes, the current game modes aren't even meant for mechs and this type of gameplay. Assault is for true FPS. Conquest is something akin for MMOs.

Why not a Mechwarrior game type? Where we protect a convoy of supplies and tanks from a enemy company(2 lances).
Or maybe we could protect vital civilian structures from enemy mechs.

Its things like this, PGI needs to think about.

Your right - the people that in charge of weapon balance should beat up the people in charge of sales

Oh wait, those are two totally unrelated groups

I don't have a problem dropping money on games, but I haven't put a dime in MWO since my founder pack because there hasn't been anything worth buying in that time frame. Camo and paint and cheap cockpit items, plus the occasional Hero mech are not anything I would spend money on while waiting for new maps (and not day/night versions either) and new modes of play. Or hell a fix to the constant drop of FPS that I seem to have with every new patch, where it is now practically unplayable at around 9-10 FPS. Which I think is the OP's point, not the spending habits of gamers.

Oh and your protip for SRMcats. Since the Cata chassis is one of the best for mounting XL's and a well designed Streak or Splatcat will probably be running around 80 to 90 kph, good luck staying outside of 270 meters unless your a light or a Cicada unless the Cata pilot is just horribly bad. Most mediums don't mount XL's due to survival issues, and they would get run down by a well designed SRMcat.

Maybe it was unfair of me to attack unrelated groups within PGI, but PGI is still ONE company and in that company i'm sure the two unrelated groups report to a manager. However, I am attacking PGI as a whole. Everything they've done has gradually driven players off.

I hardly see anyone poptarting these days.
I do see lots of multi-PPC boats around.

Oh, I'm aware it's still possible to poptart, heck I take some airshots myself and find it's still pretty easy, but the FOTM on the PUG and 4-man end has changed to PPCboat stalkers/atlases/cataphracts.

I will only say this.. this thread will be in K-town soon enough.

While we get transferred there, I would say that many different things said by "community managers" tend to be laughed at by the informed masses, and occasionally some of those messages are insulting. I would not take every word said seriously.

However, the Streakcat/Splatcat meta is still avoidable... but not entirely escapeable.

the only problem right now is all the assault mechs - we need tonnage limits on teams.

You're completely correct in your observation. I forgot to mention that in my near-ranting post, the way to solve min/maxing is to solve the boating issue of weapons, PGI needs to stop punishing weapons and start punishing boating.
