This definitely shouldn't go in the feedback thread or anything.

I've always felt it is a good thing to provide a link to the comments you find so outrageous. Perhaps then people can make an informed vote.

It's not exactly hurting boats, as it's hurting the exploitation of massive boating.

They're hoping to encourage more mixed, diverse builds. Frankly I'd have tightened things up a bit, penalty for 3+ of the same weapon fired at the same time with the .5 cooldown on that.

So honestly, this is much more, relaxed than I personally feel it should be. This is a good thing for the game, not a bad thing.

Because more than 6 Medium Lasers is exploitative and 3 ERPPCs isn't.

PGI simply hates it when people boat lots of small things but is completely okay with the boating of large weapons.

And this is why I personally think the restriction is too light. the cut off on ANY weapon for "boating" should be 3+, 3 medium lasers, 3 large lasers, 3 ppc's, hell 3 LRM or SRM launchers. it doesn't matter. 3 of any weapon "Boated" is too much to be firing at the same moment and should see a Penalty. 1 or 2 is fine at a time, 3 and up is starting to push the "Abuse" barrier in my opinion.

This system needs to be more strict frankly.

This is exactly the type of mech that should be targeted but gets away unscathed. There is absolutely no difference between this and a 4 ppc stalker. In fact this is arguably the better build because of the low heat buildup from the Gauss rifle.

Also for the people complaining about the poll, the OP did something known as poisoning the well. No matter which response you pick he wins. Either you agree with him, or you admit you didn't read the proposed changes but agree with them which would be impossible.

Say whaaaaaaaaaaat?

There is nothing wrong with 4 Medium Lasers, Small Lasers, LRM 5, or anything else that's small. The only issues are with the big stuff like ERPPCs. This game poops in the mouth of small weapons enough as it is.

I see nothing wrong with this patch its giving a small penalty for some loadouts that really is needed. And at the same time it only hurts if you are Alpha striking ... so whats the issue?

Technically, that's not right. It is only acceptable in the Mech Warrior universe as very few mechs (ie, the 3025 variants that we have and their 3050 upgrades) actually mount more than 4 of anything. Boating only became prevalent in later TRO releases and it is only common here because 1) past games allowed it to happen and 2) PGI made it possible for everyone and their brother to drop in FF, ES, and XL engines giving you a mass amount of tonnage available to mount mass amounts of weapons on top of giving every mech a mass amount of hard points upon which to utilize that available tonnage.
